Father’s Speech On August 9, 1998 at Belvedere International Training Center, USA
THE title in Korean is “Yong-gwang Dwen Cham Knjong.” You know what cham kajeong means. [True Family] And yong-gwnng means glory. Thus the title in English is “Glorious True Family” What does glory mean? If we analyze the Chinese character for yang, there are two flames on top of a roof, and underneath there is a big tree. You can see how bright and how glorious it can be. Gwang means light-shining light.
Yesterday I returned from Jardim, Brazil, where on July 1 we established the Ideal Family Education Headquarters for World Peace. Do you understand the significance of this? In order to build a world of peace, there must be an ideal family as the root. Ideal means eternal and unchanging. The ideal world is thus an unchanging world. There can only be one ideal world, not two. When it comes to the concept of the ideal, absolute, eternal, unchanging and unique qualities are involved. First, absolute; second, unique; third, unchanging and fourth, eternal.
These four attributes, as we know, are God’s inner attributes. God who is absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal wants to see these same attributes in human beings. Since God desires such a standard, we human beings desire the same standard. What is the ideal that God has been longing for? And what ideal has humanity been longing for? When there is nothing other than an absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal standard, then both God and humanity will like it. These are the four attributes and the standard that both God and human beings desire.
What else does God desire? Money? Knowledge? Power? Go.cl already has these. What is it that God desires the most? True love. True love also should be absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal. God cannot fulfill true love by Himself. Can you fulfill love by yourself? Can I fulfill love by myself? We absolutely need a partner of love in order to achieve love. No matter how handsome a man may be, he cannot achieve love by himself. No matter how pretty a woman may be, she also cannot achieve love by herself. The same principle applies to God. No one, including God, can fulfill love alone.
If we are created to fulfill God’s love, there must be certain aspects of ourselves that can help us do so. God needs Adam and Eve, who are the center of the universe. In order to fulfill their love, Adam and Eve need all things. Of course, God created the entire universe and all things for His own enjoyment. But human beings also need to have nature as their object and love partner so they can find and fulfill love.
After God created Adam, He said it was not good for him to be alone. Because Adam looked lonely, God created Eve as Adam’s partner. Then God said it was “very good.” After God created Adam and gave Adam’s love organ convex form, God created Eve as Adam’s partner with a concave love organ. Why did God create Adam and Eve’s love organs in such a way? The reason God said it was good after completing the creation of Eve is that He knew Adam and Eve could share their love by having these different types of sexual organ-but also because through their lovemaking God Himself could simultaneously achieve love. It was good for God, good for Eve and good for Adam. With reference to what did God say, “It is good.”? With reference to the sexual organs.
This is not a strange concept, but because of the fall of man, when people consider the meaning or concept of the sexual organs they think it is strange and dirty, or embarrassing. Yet the love organ is the origin of life, love and lineage, and the source of an eternal spring of love.
Why did God chase Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden right after their fall? After Adam and Eve fell, God could see clearly that they had lost their purpose because their love organs had been contaminated, even destroyed, as a result of the fall.
THE ORIGIN OF FALLEN LINEAGE
Some people still believe the human fall was caused by Adam and Eve’s eating a literal fruit. But that is untenable, because original sin deals with the issue of lineage. Everyone admits that as descendants of the fallen Adam and Eve we inherit original sin. How could we inherit original sin apart from through having a fallen lineage? We could not. Also, the product of original sin is a self-centered way of thinking and way of life. Throughout human history, no matter where they were, human beings have had a self-centered outlook, and have been unable to change that.
Why do we have two eyes? We have two nostrils and two lips, two hands. The power that can combine and harmonize two different objects is the power of love. Whenever there is a give and take relationship between subject and object, there is a center, and that center is represented by true love. The concept of true love is that of the original essence of love created by God. In this sense we can interpret the human fall as the sharing of love without the true love center. Even when we consider the functioning of our eyesight, our two eyes are working separately yet they have their control center back inside our head. The same is true for our nostrils. The four different directions also always have one center. As long as east, west, north and south remain constant, there must be one unchanging central point.
EVERY PERSON DESIRES TO BECOME THE CENTER
No matter how ugly one may be, he or she has the desire to become the center of the world. Man desires to become the plus center and woman the minus center. This is the way man and woman harmonize. Extending this to the natural world, we can also see this manifested on the surface of the earth in the mountains and the oceans.
Would you rather God were a female or a male? [Both.] I am asking you to choose one now, not both. [Male.] Why? Because the male carries the seed of life. Is that true? Who is in the central position? Who is vertical, man or woman? [Man.] What about woman? [Horizontal.] When man as the vertical figure and woman as the horizontal figure meet, the angle at which they meet should be perpendicular. Only true love can establish eternal settlement when vertical and horizontal meet in the center.
Who is bigger, man or woman? [Man.] Why? Because man is vertical. Since man is naturally meant to be bigger than woman, when a woman sees her love partner, her husband, she goes to embrace him and swings around him with her arms around his neck. This is horizontal hugging. Forming a 90 degree angle in this way, how beautiful they are! Do you like that? [Yes.] But the men do not!
If we consider man and woman in terms of the human body, man is in the position of bone, and woman in the position of flesh. You may want to argue over why man should have the role of bone and woman the role of flesh. Bone consists of little water, while flesh contains over 70 percent water. That is why the shape of woman’s love organ is concave, like a container to receive water. The shape of man’s love organ is shaped like a bone and should be strong like bone. Then it functions very well when husband and wife make love. Man’s sexual organ is bone and flesh, while woman’s body is flesh and water.
We are a combination of the bone we received vertically from our father and the flesh that we received horizontally from our mother. The combination of these two, the vertical and the horizontal, is myself.
Which lasts longer, bone or flesh? The vertical element, bone lasts longer. Therefore, who is the vertical figu re? [Man.] The horizontal figure is woman. While woman revolves around 360 degrees, man is positioned in the center and spins. Can man and woman, in the vertical and horizontal positions, exchange positions as they start turning? As they turn, a complete circle of 360 degrees should be formed.
Can man and woman change the number of degrees in a circle? When they form a perpendicular, 90-degree angle, what do you think will happen if some outside force comes against it? The angle will be altered; it will no longer be perpendicular. Suppose your watch breaks. You will open it up and repair it, but it will never be as good as new.
What is the meaning of true love? When vertical and horizontal love meet at the central point, forming a 90-degree angle, this represents true love. Why is this meeting point of true love in the center? It makes no difference, once you form that 90-degree angle in the center, whether you make the man vertical and the woman horizontal or vice versa; the center point is still the same. The value is the same. The size is the same. Everything is equal.
In other words, the meaning of the ideal family is the family in which the wife can function vertically like the husband, forming a 90-degree relationship. In the ideal family it is no problem if the wife takes on the role of husband. If there is no father or mother the children can play the role of the parents; if there is no son, then the daughter can play that role. What about in America? Can we find such families in America? Once an ideal family is established, husband and wife can carry out each other’s roles interchangeably. Do you follow? So we must have bone and flesh together. If we look at a fingernail, is it more similar in structure to bone or flesh? It is more like bone because it has a certain rigidity. If it were merely soft flesh it might get crushed. If your toes did not have nails, you would not be able to balance when standing. We do not usually think of that. Our fingernails and toenails are very important because they are hard like bone.
In this sense, which do we rely on more in our life, our bone or our flesh? Which helps us more? [Bone.] If we touch bone, no imprint is left and there is no sensation. But if we push flesh hard we can see an indentation or mark. Such a difference also exists between man and woman.
Do you women want your husband to be a feminine or a masculine man? A masculine man is unchangeable whereas feminine nature suggests greater changeability. So who is more changeable; man or woman? [Woman.] Then, do you want to see your husband standing like a rock or pillar, stern-looking and saying little, or running around more like your pet dog? [Like a pillar.] Such a man will eternally uphold an unchanging standard. Do you want him to be like that? [Yes.] But I don’t like that! Man does not like man. That is why he needs woman. If nothing is changing, there can be no fun. If there were only men, just standing still like pillars or mountains, there would be no fun. Therefore, by having certain changeable elements we can have harmony, happiness and freedom. I like that.
Women should be able to embrace all their children and grandchildren and present them to their husband and the grandparents. A mother is in the queen’s position to raise the children of her family and tribe, whereas her husband is in the king’s position of the entire nation. That is why the husband is meant to go out and be more mobile.
Suppose I had just stayed in Korea for God’s providence. Then you would not have had any chance to learn about the reality of the Kingdom of God. Instead, however, I set out from Korea and came to America, even though the entire nation was opposed to that.
Women must know clearly the identity of woman. Men should know man’s identity clearly. We should understand the relationship between man and woman in the family. That is the only way we can build an ideal family based on true love. Who cries more easily, man or woman? [Woman.] Why? Since women always face four different directions–east, west, north and south-they often cry. Why? Because then in your marriage, whenever you shed tears your husband can sympathize with you and comfort you. That is the way your heart can be connected with your husband’s heart.
I will tell you a secret. When you wives make a small mistake in your family, if you just shed tears in front of your husband, that is the superhighway through which you can secure your husband’s forgiveness and love. American women don’t know this. That is why they are so proud. Instead of shedding tears, they just keep shouting and then they lose the privilege of marriage. When his wife starts shedding tears, a husband feels, “Oh, she must be longing for my love.” When Mother comes and tells me to put on a coat, I follow Mother’s request and do that. No wife would complain about me!
THE ORIGINAL VALUE OF THE LOVE ORGANS
Have you truly reflected on how much God thought about Adam and Eve’s compatibility after he created them-about how well they fit together and how excited they could feel to complement each other as they do? Even if I explain about such things as the sexual organs and kissing, don’t feel strange. I am giving you the truth about the original organs. Aren’t man and woman supposed to kiss each other? You know better than I do! When the husband goes to work every morning, if the wife is left behind without having been kissed, then all day long she will feel kind of lonely and sad, saying, “Well, my husband doesn’t feel good today.” But Oriental wives do not feel that way. Mother is not that way. During a busy time, if I try to kiss Mother, she runs away. Mother is very wise. Think about it; if there were a fire, or even an important telephone call or something really urgent that needed to be taken care of, and you had to give a kiss to your wife, then if she was eating something she would have to brush her teeth, or if something were on her cheek she would have to wash her face; it would be a nuisance. If she didn’t have a handkerchief handy she would need to go to wash in the sink-it would take time. So do you still think a husband should kiss his wife before leaving? [Yes.] The American women respond, “Yes,” but Oriental women would say, “No, no, no; it’s okay” There is that much difference.
INTERNATIONAL MARRIAGES
I came up with a brilliant way of harmonizing these two completely different ways of life and thinking-through promoting marriages between people from the Orient and the West. I am naturally the king of matchmakers and have dealt with many Western husband candidates. Among them, usually seven or eight out of ten wish to have Oriental wives. What do you American and Western women want to do, then? You cannot find a husband. If all Western men prefer to have Oriental wives, then where can we find husbands for the Western women? [In the East.] Koreans and other Oriental men are not very big. If the woman is tall and the man is short, how can they achieve balance? However, there is no other choice. After sincere study and research, I came up with this solution. If men and women from enemy families, enemy nations and enemy races marry in order to build a world of peace, then naturally there will be peace. A world of peace and natural harmony will be established. Do you think this is possible? Yes it is, because the spirit world is like this. A world in which the children of former enemies marry, and in which enemies give their blessing to each other’s children when they marry, and pray for their happiness-that world will become the true world of unification, harmony and peace. Amen. Do you want to say amen to that? [Amen!] Don’t you feel good after you shout it out?
Many Americans dislike Korean people. They do not like to hear the name “Reverend Moon.” Many dislike that Kore-an man and believe he is the worst kind of person. They want to shout, “Reverend Moon, go home.” ‘Most American people have been thinking that way up to now, wanting to push me out, haven’t they? This is undeniable.
What about you? Do you welcome True Father? [Yes!] You like True Father because he always gives you the word of truth and treats you well. But if instead I were to come every day to scold and criticize you, would you still like me? Who would run away first, Japanese women, American women or Korean women? American women would leave first, Japanese women second, and Korean women third. Do you like Koreans? [Yes.] In general Americans and Japanese do not like the Korean people. Then how can I recommend marriages be-tween people from these countries? The entire world can be unified through this kind of exchange.
Whom do you Western sisters like more, Japanese people or Korean people? [Both.] Between Korean men and Japanese men, which has a more manly physique? Wherever they go, Korean men always create waves, or cause some kind of problem. They are world-level troublemakers. Why is that? Wherever they go, Korean men usually have a tendency to buy expensive and good quality clothes. Even though the food in their home may be really humble, or there may not even be enough money to buy food, they always spend extra money to buy good clothing and show off. Also, when it comes to giving tips, they are generous. When giving gifts, a Japanese person may divide one gift into ten parts and give one small part each time, but Koreans do not calculate like that. If they have a big gift to give they will just give it, then forget about it. That is why wherever Koreans go, women like them. Why is that? There is no corresponding word in English, but Korean men are great fun, well-dressed, handsome and versatile. That is why they are welcome wherever they go. They can sing, they are artistic, they converse well. Reverend Moon exemplifies such Korean men, wouldn’t you agree?!
ESTABLISHING A GLORIOUS TRUE FAMILY
Is there any one of you who does not want your family to become a glorious true family? Does everyone want that? At over seventy years of age, I may think and worry about having a glorious true family, wondering, as seventy years have already passed how I can achieve that. However, don’t you think that, as young people in your twenties, thirties and for-ties, you still have plenty of time to make your family a glorious true family? But doesn’t someone like me, who is over 70 years old, still have time? Why do I have hope? Because the spirit world exists, there is hope. Once we enter heaven in the spirit world, we remain at our prime of life for eternity. Also, as we keep improving our internal qualities, our appearance becomes more beautiful and more inspiring. Once we know the reality of the spirit world we can immediately be connected to it. Because of the human fall, however, up until now human beings on earth have not understood the reality of the spirit world.
What about the Unification Church-what should we do? This is where we should seek to realize a glorious true family within our own families. Those of you who have confidence that you will never die, raise your hands. In this area, every-one is equal. Whoever you are, you have to pass into the spirit world. The origin of this vertical aspect of reality is God. The origin is not the things of the earthly world that change, but the unchanging bone-like aspect that is God. Our mind will be in the position of flesh in the spirit world. Where does this mind stem from? From our parents’ true love. In the spirit world, therefore, the bone of our being will be true love. If one strand of my hair were to be really studied under a microscope, then everything about me could be understood through my DNA. By the same token, because God is the origin of this bone-the entire spirit world-when we enter the spirit world we can encounter God’s attributes and characteristics by meeting God’s representatives there.
In the spirit world, love will shine like light because that is the origin of our life. Just as in this earthly world the sun is the source of life, when we enter the spirit world God Himself will shine like the sun. Every existing being in the spirit world will turn toward God, toward God’s light of love. Then as long as we as individuals are ready to receive this love light from God, just as when a light is turned on the bulb immediately passes an electrical current and glows, we too will be able to glow. Thus, in the spirit world people will shine like stars. There will be sun, moon and stars: the sun and moon representing the king and queen, and stars representing the people. There will be only one sun and one moon, Father and Mother, but there will be many stars of differing size and brightness.
Once we leave this earthly world and enter the spiritual world we can travel anywhere. We can even penetrate this planet, passing through its waters and even through the earth itself. As long as we go with God’s true love, nothing will stand in our way. The speed of light is equivalent to going around the earth seven and a half times per second. But the speed of love is millions of times faster than the speed of light. It is just a matter of thought. As long as you have true love as your motivation, then the vast spirit world is your arena to move around in.
If that kind of world is waiting for us and we are to play a major role there, do you think we have to carry this physical flesh with us when we go to the spirit world or just leave it behind? Then, is it better to live a shorter earthly life or a longer one? Do you want to live here longer? In this earthly life, if we want to travel ten miles we need a car, or if we walk that distance we will sweat-there are always such limitations here, aren’t there? Which would be better, to pass into the spirit world as an elementary school-age child, or to reach adulthood and receive a Ph.D.? [Receive the Ph.D.] Why? Those who have a doctorate may feel, “Well now I have completed my studies, so I do not have to read any more books,” but elementary school children will continue studying. In this earthly world we are frequently told to do good deeds and to serve others, yet we usually do not. After we enter the spirit world, if we have not trained ourselves we will not be in a good situation.
What do we call a funeral service in Unificationist terms? [Seung Hwa.] The Seung Hwa, or Ascension Ceremony. What does this ceremony mean? It signifies that we are ascending to another dimension. Although it is like moving from one house to another, we go vertically into a world of another dimension. This earthly world is the limited, finite world. But we are talking about moving on to an infinite and unlimited world. There are all kinds of restrictions here, but in that other dimension everything is wide open. There are no limita-tions. A glorious true family is a family that is happy in this earthly world as well as in the spiritual world. The Owner and Center of the spirit world is God. A glorious true family is a family in which the Owner and Center of the universe can dwell, a family that brings eternal joy. In such a family,
husband and wife appreciate one another eternally, because
only one’s spouse can be one’s eternal partner in love.
Even God needs a true love partner. Who is in the position of God’s love partner? When we say “man,” of course we mean man and woman together, humankind. Centering on
true love, man as the plus figure and woman as the minus figu re should become one. Is that true? We resemble God’s invisible original sung sang and hyung sang. When this invis-ible, original sung sang and hyung sang of God divides into
visible sung sang and hyun g sang, it manifests as man and woman-plus and minus-both having equal value.
[Father refers to the blackboard] So we can say this is the physical world and that is the spiritual world. From here we can reach the conclusion of the origin-division-union theory. In the individual, the mind is in the position of plus and the body in the position of minus. It is the same for both man and woman. They should become one. Man represents plus and woman minus. But when it comes to the individual, we all want to become the center of the human race. Then we need
our family. We want to become the center of our family, the center of our tribe, the center of our people, the center of the world and the center of the cosmos. Like it or not, we all have the desire to become the center of all these different levels. Viewed vertically, expansion from the individual leads to the cosmic level. Following this principle, there should be just one nation.
THE FULFILLMENT OF GOD’S LOVE
Through having a give and take relationship, there will be spherical movement in a complete circle. One cannot form a sphere by oneself; there is always the need for an object. A man wants to have the best woman in the world; a woman wants to have the best man. Is that true? God has the same desire. God wants to have a partner in love who is better than Himself. That is why we have the same kind of desire. When we marry we want our spouse to be thousands of times better than ourselves.
The same principle applies when we have children. Adam and Eve are in the position of the children of God, but in front of God, Adam and Eve are, as a couple, in the position of object-similar to the relationship between husband and wife. If God is in the position of husband, Adam and Eve are in the position of wife. With reference to the origin-division-union theory, man is in the position of God’s original sung sang and woman is in the position of God’s original hyung sang. This is why we absolutely must unite our mind and body. Because of the fall of man, this oneness between the original mind and t);te body was destroyed and broken. The history of restoration became necessary in order to mend this. Of course, God’s inner sung sang manifests in man and woman differently. The ideal of God’s love does not manifest in them as individuals, however. It will only manifest when they become one as plus and minus through their conjugal relationship. This is the process to fulfill God’s love. To perfect God’s cherished ideal, man and woman, representing the complementary aspects of God, must become one through love-including physically. God can thus wear a physical body through Adam and Eve as they become one with Him.
Without man and woman experiencing the marriage relationship their bodies cannot become one. Only through marriage can they be united. Their minds become one to begin with, then their bodies follow suit. God’s mind is thus manifested as plus and minus through man and woman, then through marriage God’s love is revealed. This is the culminating point at which man’s mind and woman’s mind, husband’s mind and wife’s mind, become one. God’s mind and the human mind meet there also, and become one.
Then who is the owner or center of love? When there is lovemaking horizontally between husband and wife, God comes down and appears in the center. Vertically speaking, origin-division-union action takes place here centering on love. Origin-division-union action begins with each individual. Then, as we become one through the conjugal relation-ship, God descends to that point, and this again becomes the
union. This is the unity of mind and body, or shimshin ilche. The husband’s mind and body become one, and the wife’s mind and body become one. Then, through marriage, husband and wife become one. Thus, shimshin ilche means the total oneness of mind and body as well as the realization of oneness between husband and wife, and even between God and man. Complete unity occurs. Through this vertical and horizontal process of origin, division, and union God can wear physical bodies such as those of Adam and Eve. In other words, the invisible God can appear as the visible God through Adam and Eve. That is why perfected Adam’s family
would have been called God’s family, God’s descendants and God’s children-because God would have manifested through Adam’s family physically.
THE CONSEQUENCES OF THE FALL
Had the fall of man not occurred, there would be no conflict between mind and body in human beings. There would automatically be absolute oneness between mind and body, and between man and woman. Perfected man and woman would eventually become perfected husband and wife, and God would come down to them and remain as their center. Then after passing into the spirit world, this true family would live with God for eternity. God would be able to dwell in such a glorious true family. Man is in the position of God’s sung sang and woman in the position of God’s hyung sang. They must therefore become one. Of course, it is the same for you: your mind aspect and your body aspect should be united totally in oneness with your wife’s mind aspect and body aspect. Mind to mind and body to body. When such oneness occurs, God can come down and dwell within you.
Had Adam and Eve not fallen, God would have taken dominion over the entire world through them. Although that was not possible due to the fall, a new era has now dawned in which God is working through the True Parents, just as He originally would have through Adam and Eve. In this way, the invisible God wears a visible shape. He is incarnate in the True Parents. That is why even if you go to the spirit world you cannot see God. Once the Kingdom of God on earth and in heaven is established, however, God will reveal Himself as a visible God.
As a result of the fall of man there have been many different standards by which people have lived in this earthly world. There have been both good people and bad. That is why in the spirit world there are different levels including paradise and hell. In God’s original blueprint, however, the spirit world was not to consist of different levels. Only now that the time has come in this physical world when the Kingdom of God is being established will the entire spirit world achieve one level. It will be the Kingdom of God in heaven throughout.
After the fall led to the emergence of different standards on earth, they carried over into the spirit world. The level of existence one has in the spirit world is determined by the quality of one’s life on earth. Since human history began centered on false parents, neither the spirit world nor the earthly world is the heavenly world God desires. How then can we create the world of God’s original desire?
The Second Advent means that the True Parents have appeared on earth. False parents made the earth into a place of falsehood that needs to be restored. Based on True Parents’ original true love, the outlook and experience of individuals, families, tribes and the nation should be combined to create one nation under God, and one world under God. Do you understand? The concept in America of one nation under God is not enough. It should be one world under God. One cosmos under God. True, absolute love, the seed that links everything throughout the world, should have dominion. The fallen world was established and has developed without this seed, however. This world filled with the results of the fall must diminish. Only the concept of the Kingdom of Heaven is to remain. Do you understand?
The blood lineage of the fallen world is a false one. The true blood lineage of God’s original world should link every-thing together. How can the Unification Church initiate the realization of that original world? Through marriage. Marriage is the way to engraft the family. The family and tribe were lost at the outset through illicit love. In the present time, the preblessing of many existing marriages is connecting these families with true love. Preblessing is a method of engrafting all the families of the human race. Do you understand? That is the final purpose – the cutting away of Satan’s blood lineage and cleaning up of the fallen world. Without making such a foundation, God cannot descend and work on earth.
The American-style system in which you grew up is not yet ideal! America does not belong to God’s world, but is on Satan’s side, which is a multi-changeable realm. A changeable America and a changeable world are hell, not the Kingdom of Heaven. Satan is dragging down all humanity, making this the worst kind of world. How can we prevent that, and win the world back for God’s side? Our mission and responsibility, as well as the power to accomplish this, are evidenced in our Unification activities.
The direction to God’s kingdom is 180 degrees opposite to the direction of Satan’s world of hell. Immorality is rampant throughout the secular world today. If you follow a path opposite to the trends of the secular world, you can be sure you are on the right track to heaven.
What are the four major attributes of God? He is absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal. In the relationship between God and humankind, God is in the position of subject and we are in the position of object. We must therefore establish a family based on a standard commensurate with these attributes of God. It is logical to say that since God is absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal, the love partner God seeks should be also. When God created this universe, He invested an absolute standard of faith, love and obedience into His work of creation. He applied absolute faith, love and obedience from the outset. He created everything based on such an absolute foundation, nothing less. The standard God established for His creation was thus one of absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience. When God created human beings He applied absolute faith, and gave His absolute love. To raise and nurture them He practiced absolute obedience.
When there is absolute trust between husband and wife in the marriage relationship, then love flows naturally between them. This illustrates the concept of true love following absolute faith. Within absolute faith, the seed of absolute love is automatically planted. When this seed of absolute love germinates, new buds can be seen opening. Then you must nurture them. God invested Himself completely into setting that up, because He wanted to secure a partner in love who was hundreds of thousands of times better than Himself. That is why God applied absolute obedience in nurturing Adam and Eve. Absolute obedience means investing absolutely, forgetting what you have invested, and continuing on without ceasing. Do you understand?
The concept I have mentioned about partners-that we wish for a partner thousands of times better than ourselves-is because of the very principle that God Himself applied to His creation. All things began their existence on that foundation. Just as in the relationship between man and woman love flows from plus to minus and makes a complete circle, this is precisely the principle God follows, giving of Himself one hundred percent, forgetting what He has given, and giving again and again. That is true love.
IDEAL FAMILY EDUCATION
True Father’s first declaration in Jardim is related with a new Garden of Eden. In the first Garden of Eden, God invested absolute faith, love and obedience in His work of creation. By the same token, in this era of the new Garden of Eden we human beings should be able to apply absolute faith, love and obedience in our relationship with nature, just as God did. We received this standard from God, so we have to pass on this same standard to all things, to the natural world.
That is why I proclaimed absolute faith, love and obedience. Within that standard there is no concept of the fall. Based on such an absolute standard humankind can take dominion over nature because all things were created on that absolute foundation with nothing to do with the fall. Man has to rise to that level so as to be able to take dominion over nature.
When we study the history of the Unification Church blessing, we see that by fulfilling the blessing of 360 million couples, the twelfth level blessing will be accomplished. This new era, in which we can live with God by establishing an ideal, glorious true family, is therefore now dawning.
I will soon return to Jardim, as it is there that I have now established the headquarters at which I will educate ideal families for world peace. Our blessed couples have been growing vertically, but as yet have no foundation horizontally. We will be able to establish that through the special training course offered in Jardim, by following Father’s teaching and directions. During forty days of education and training, the participants can inherit True Parents’ foundation on the individual, family, tribe, and national levels-up to the cos-mic level-and thereby horizontally attain and enjoy the level of a true ideal family.
EIGHT STAGES OF RESTORATION
Adam and Eve, who were originally to become the sinless, perfected ancestors and True Parents of humankind, perpetrated the human fall. That is why True Father himself, in the position of the restored, perfected Adam, had to pass through all eight stages of restoration. As blessed couples, however, we have been merely following in Father’s footsteps, in the position of the archangel-not as the satanic archangel, but as the heavenly-side archangel. Now is the time, however, when you must reach Adam’s level. To accomplish that you must be able to inherit everything I have accomplished and the victories I have won until now. This is the education and training course I am offering you at the Jardim education headquarters. That is why I am emphasizing that the entire family, the four position foundation of parents and children, should participate there together.
Moreover, as a tribal messiah you should bring your tribe of 160 families. As they complete this education, there will be a new registration of each tribe. Without this we cannot create a heavenly nation. Seven generations should register as a tribe. We should be able to maintain that connection with True Parents’ own lineage all the way down to the seventh generation. Only then can we clearly claim to be able to enter the kingdom.
The condition is being set for the True Father to be proclaimed as king of all the holy, unfallen families in the universe. The 360 Million Couples Blessing means giving the blessing to 720 million adults. If we estimate that there are, say, 3 or 4 children in each family we are talking about more than 3 billion people throughout the world-which is over half the world’s population. And if we include their relatives and in-laws, we are reaching the entire human race. Through this condition, the True Family can stand in a position above all families and proclaim the holy family among all the world’s families.
As long as human history continues, people will constantly study what I have accomplished through this 360 Million Couples Blessing-and how and why. They will eventually come to know that this was the condition to build the Kingdom of God here on earth, and eventually in heaven. It will be through studying about the 360 Million Couples Blessing that future generations will find the way to eradicate the satanic lineage and enter heaven.
How can we eliminate the basis of the satanic lineage? God never wanted to see this dark reality. True Parents are there-fore working to clean up this earth. I understand clearly how this can be done. I am cleaning up the entire world so that no remnant of the fall will remain. There will exist only the state of perfection which was originally to have expanded from the individual to the worldwide level in the Garden of Eden, centering on the true love lineage of True Parents. The lineage of Satan will not exist there.
To eliminate the satanic lineage, I have established three different holy wine ceremonies. When babies receive the holy wine through their mother’s womb, we call this the ceremony of rebirth. When children prior to adulthood drink it-or receive it in some other way such as through holy candy-we call that the ceremony of resurrection. And when the holy wine is drunk at the marriage blessing ceremony, then we call it the ceremony of eternal life. At that point, the blood lineage is finally changed and purified.
Since we are not yet in the era of perfection, even when you blessed wives conceive a child you have to drink holy wine for your child to go through the ceremony of rebirth. So there is a difference: people from the fallen world need to participate in three different stages-the ceremonies of rebirth, resurrection and eternal life. However, the children of blessed couples should go through only two-the ceremonies of rebirth and eternal life. Because we are not yet living in a world of perfection, even blessed couples should participate in these two holy wine ceremonies.
Due to the particular significance of this era and the conditions that have been established, we can inherit God’s attributes by participating in the Jardim education. We can become absolute parents, unique parents, unchanging parents, eternal parents. It is the same for children and for couples: absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal children, and absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal couples. These same attributes and standard can be settled for the first time in an absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal family. The automatic place of settlement of such a family is the Kingdom of Heaven, both on earth and in the spirit world where it will dwell eternally dedicated to and centered on God and true love. All couples will be connected together on the foundation of that same family standard and will have the same value. It will be a place of no obstacles, to which God can freely come down and dwell. This will be what we call the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Is this clear? Living in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth will lead automatically to living in the Kingdom of Heaven in the spirit world. Absolute family, unique family, unchanging family, eternal family. God can automatically and freely dwell in such a home. Unless a family achieves such an absolute standard, God cannot be present.
Once a man reaches this point then for the first time he can say, “I am an absolute man, a unique man, an unchanging and eternal man.” You have not had this concept. You need to recite this ten times, a thousand times, or a hundred million times in a loud voice: “I am an absolute being, a unique being, an unchanging being, an eternal being-like God. God is my Father. I am connected to His blood lineage. By centering on true love and be practicing true love I can be one body with Him.” Do you understand? A person who has become one body with God takes the position to represent Him.
The original human value was lost and we came to a position lower than that of any animal. How miserable is our situation! How did this happen? Through our receiving the illicit blood lineage of Satan. God did not want this.
GOD’S POSITION AFTER THE FALL
In the midst of this fallen reality God’s position is one of love. His expectation towards fallen humanity is that they come to have the ability to love an enemy’s child more than a child of their own direct lineage. Without taking that kind of action, Satan’s side cannot be eradicated from this fallen world. How miserable God’s situation has been throughout the course of providential history until now. How much effort God has been investing from the viewpoint of the providence of restoration. Why has he done that? To save you. To see the ideal of one man, one woman. The fall occurred millions of years ago, not 6,000 years ago. God created the universe several billion years ago. Until now, God could not find the original family of His ideal of creation. Therefore, in order to recreate the original ideal family, He sent the Messiah. The Messiah is the True Parent.
The first Adam was lost. Later, Jesus came as the second Adam on the national level foundation of Israel. But Jesus died on the cross and lost everything: the nation, the people and the sovereignty of the king were all lost. With the expansion of the Christian cultural sphere over the following two thousand years, the worldwide foundation for the Second Advent was established. The Lord of the Second Advent’s mission is not on the family or national level, but on the worldwide level. Had the Christian world united with him after the Second World War it would have been possible to clean up the world within the 7-year period from 1945 to 1952. Then all humankind could have been blessed at one time. It would have been no problem to give the blessing to the entire existing world population of 3 billion in one day. Instead, however, he was chased out into the wilderness.
All the families of the world could have been given the blessing at once, thus creating one direction according to God’s purpose. After I was chased out into the wilderness, however, that hope was lost. Because all the Christian clergy opposed me, the entire foundation that had been prepared worldwide was lost. That is, it was taken over by Satan. This included America, England and France. Communism then took increasing control of the free world. In order to regain that lost foundation, I stood and fought, and turned the situation around. Do you understand?
America stands for “one nation under God.” But God’s concept is one world under God. How can the American people change their concept to that of one world under God? When we tell the American people that they have to change their concept they reply, “No, we are the world leaders.” God does not recognize that kind of position. America has to embrace the concept of one world, one cosmos under God. Otherwise, America cannot continue to lead the world.
One race of people cannot be in control forever. There can be no racism if God is at the center. America is a proud culture, proud of its political power. Political power, economic power and military power did not exist in the Garden of Eden. The way in which the free world is going is neither the way of perfection nor the way of settlement. It is headed in the worst possible direction. America is declining: it is perishing and without the power to rise again. Its only hope is Reverend Moon. Do you understand?
If we look at America, are there any real, true couples there? Are there any true children, true grandfathers, or true parents? America does not have that kind of society. Americans are an individualistic people, proud of their individuality. In such a situation the entire cosmos is lost, the world, the nation, the society, the tribe, and the family are lost. In the family there are no grandparents, no parents, no husband and wife, no children-only separate individuals. The American people and nation have lost everything.
360 MILLION COUPLES BLESSING
Can the blessing of 360 million couples be accomplished by human power and ability alone? True Parents have already blessed tens of billions of people in the spirit world. Jesus has often come down from the spirit world and given help to his followers. This spiritual assistance was given on the individual level, however, not the family level. Now that True Parents have given the blessing to people in the spirit world, your good ancestors will come down and work with your family, your tribe and your people. This signifies in a way a blanket pardon of humankind. You have been sent out as national level messiahs, tribal messiahs, family messiahs so that your ancestors will come down to earth to help you as their descendants and guide you to follow True Parents into the Kingdom of Heaven. Because of such assistance from the spirit world, the blessing of 360 million couples is going very well. As this era is now with us, once we establish glorious true parents within our own families we can do everything as we wish, and as God wishes us to.
On this foundation, once we inherit the attributes of God-His absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal qualities-and apply these to our true family life, then no one can oppose us, even in this earthly world. This is because we will have achieved an ideal family. Your family will represent God’s family and True Parents’ family, and embody true parental family values. Who can destroy that? No one. Not even God or True Parents could destroy that.
The center of absolute power and authority is my home, my family. Everyone desires to have the kind of home that embodies these four attributes. If our family has that kind of value, nothing can break it. Such a family will receive the respect and protection of heavenly fortune. You need to understand this concept clearly.
You have to have confidence that even if all of Satan’s power, from the individual to the cosmic level, were combined to knock you down with one punch it could not do so. From now on you have to have that outlook, otherwise it will
not be possible for you to connect to the heavenly, holy family. This is not a matter of race, culture or power. No kind of power can block the equalizing power of love. Do you under-stand? The spirit world is not yet the Kingdom of Heaven. Instead, it is completely divided by many barriers and walls. How can those barriers and walls be tom down, making one flat plane there? I am taking that kind of action both in the spirit world and on the earth.
DECLARATIONS FOR PERFECTING THE FAMILY
Our training center is the Ideal Family Education Headquarters for World Peace. It makes no difference who you are-without going through the Jardim education you cannot reach the horizontal level you need to reach. The couples who come to the 40-day education at Jardim will pledge in front of God to inherit His four major attributes and will begin a new family life. I do not have to teach those families any more as long as each family studies the Hoon Dok Hae material every day as a family. This new blessed couple life begins from that point. This is the tradition. Through this we can initiate the realm and era of the fourth Adam, since we can reach the level of Adam and Eve having nothing to do with the fall. At that level, I will bequeath to you my authority and power to give the blessing to others. In other words, those blessed couples will be able to give the blessing to their children.
From that point on, the way will not be one of indemnity or going backwards, only straight forward with your ancestors connecting with and eternally following your couple all the way to the Kingdom of Heaven.
The second Jardim declaration thus explains that we have to establish absolute, unique, unchanging, and eternal value on the parents’ level, children’s level and conjugal level. This will expand to the tribal, national and worldwide levels and ultimately to the eternal Kingdom of Heaven on earth. This is God’s originally intended ideal of creation. The family will be linked with an absolute tribe, absolute nation, absolute world, absolute Kingdom of Heaven, and absolute owner-God. God is the True Parent, True Teacher, and True King-all three. The most important things for humankind are parents, teacher and king. God alone has those three characteristics. God’s position is at the top; we are standing on the same vertical line and have the same value as God. Do you understand clearly? The first Jardim declaration speaks of absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience. God created all things according to these concepts. Reaching that level in your family is the theme of the second declaration. Unification members cannot doubt the course I am taking. Nor does it lend itself to simple analysis. We need to follow this way absolutely. Do you understand? No matter how you research it, you will find this is the one, eternal answer.
Please repeat: julde shinang, julde sarang, julde pokjong. So all the remnants of the fall are cut off from God, and by tagging along with God the blessed couples can reach that absolute standard. You can then receive God into your family. God is the greatest artist, educator and politician-and whatever else you might name. You have to purify and clean up your family so that you can welcome God to work together with you. Consider how you can create an artistic atmosphere around you, adding some beautiful article or concept every day, always increasing and expanding. After establishing a beautiful family level foundation, this can expand outward to the village, the nation and throughout the world. In this way, the ideal world will automatically appear all across the globe. Isn’t that right? This is true. No one can overturn this argument. It is the logical way. Once we become a family that lives up to the absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal standard of God’s attributes, then we will become eternal members of the Kingdom of God. In that God wants to manifest through Adam and Eve, you men should think of your wife as God’s wife, and you women should think of your husband as God’s husband. That’s true! Both are vertically and horizontally connected to two Parents, God as the vertical parent and True Parents as the horizontal parents. Connected by true love, joining together in one place of settlement, the root of ideal love is planted in and starts from that place. These cannot be separated. Parents and children above and below, couples right and left, and children front and rear; these three positions form one body.
THE LIBERATION OF GOD’S HEART
Dr. Sang Hun Lee is testifying about the way of life in the spirit world, which is the more substantial world. He has explained that parents and child can appear as one body that separates into individual bodies whenever they talk to one another. Centering on love, the three appear as one body. Including God, four appear as one. Although God does not have any visible form we can say there are four bodies joined as one, centering on true love. Ideal parents, ideal children, ideal brotherhood and ideal God can be found there. God has experienced so much agony in the past. At last, the ideal of perfected Adam can appear. I have such a hope.
Is such a hopeful man a happy man or not? He is very happy. Because he is so happy all his cells will burst out and spread out throughout the universe like stars.
When we look at man and woman, we have to see the value of restored man and woman who are fulfilling God’s love, parents’ love and children’s love, husband’s love and wife’s love. When you see your husband, you have to recognize that value and think, “Oh, my husband is the one who fulfills God’s love, my love, my children’s love.” This is where the Three Objective Purposes are fulfilled. This is the way we can liberate God, liberate parents and liberate our children. We have that value. Even if you just think about it, doesn’t it make you feel good? Since just thinking about it makes us feel so happy and joyful, think about the kind of joy and happiness we can experience when we actually taste the perfection of it. We will feel as if we are bursting!
On that occasion, if you are asked to dance, you will stand up and dance with all of your body-your eyes, nose, ears and every part of you. Even the joints of your bones will dance together. It will be no problem to just roll around. Even standing upside down will be no problem. Think about this. In the spirit world you can do this. You can fly even standing upright or upside down. Whatever you want to do you can do, using your imagination. You and your spouse can dance around and travel around the entire universe. The entire cosmos is your stage.
Do you have such a partner? If you have an absolute, unique unchanging and eternal partner, how proud you will be. Once you arrive at that level, when you kiss it will not be mere kissing; there will be a kiss of lips, teeth, tongue and throat, and the kiss of your entire body, which is making love. Isn’t that true? That is the essence of the meaning of glorious true family. Those who do not want to have a glorious true family, show your hands. Such a family is absolutely good, eternally good, and a place of complete peace.
Those of you who feel good to have heard this special message from Father and will therefore go out and do your absolute best to reach this level, show both your hands to heaven, and both legs to earth! Your hands representing heaven and your legs representing earth both say mansei. Amen. God bless you.
