Father gave this speech to a diverse group, some 800 Uruguayan women leaders On November 5, 1996, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Their response was so overwhelming that Father had to ask them to stop clapping. Most of them raised their hands Father asked them to attend the Blessing in 1997, and each promised to bring 100 more candidates.
You have to think about how scared I must feel, as one man, being in front of so many women. (Laughter) How shall I talk so all of you a.re satisfied? Othe1wise I will have to escape through some hole if you do not agree with me. So I have to apologize to you that a humble man like myself would have to talk in front of so many ladies. I am going to ask for your patience, tolerance and open hearts so you can listen peacefully until I finish. Do you promise? (Yes)
We are going to put a title to this informal talk: “In Search of Our Original Homeland.” When you talk about your homeland as Uruguayans or Argentineans, you think of the place where you were born. But if we recognize that we all are descendants of that first man and woman that God created, we have to find out where they come from and what is their homeland?
Then if God created Adam and Eve out of love and because He needed to have someone with whom to give and receive love, this means that Adam and Eve were first born within the heart of God. Therefore, because we descended from Adam and Eve, our original homeland is in the heart of God. We know that they are fallen, but Adam and Eve were created with a high ideal, just as we were also created with a high ideal. Up until now humanity has not been clear about the origin of the fall. Throughout history, humanity has not known the origin of our original homeland or the background of the history of evil.
So many people have not known whether God exists or not. Too many people believe in the theory of evolution and that our ancestors were monkeys. Thus, each individual anguishes over unanswered questions and moments of pain in the quest for answers to the fundamental questions of life.
hen how are we going to respond to the need for this search? God established religion to prepare the foundation to send someone who could bring the answers. The fall put us on the side of evil, not the side of God; thus God has to send such a person because we cannot go to God’s side by ourselves.
With the fall began the historic separation between God and us. How sad God must have felt after we separated from Him, for He created us to have give and take of love with Him! Didn’t you study the lectures which say that God needs an object of love? Let us go back to the moment in which God, out of His impulse to love and to receive love, created us. Could God have created us wishing that we would be worse than Him? What do you think?
We can deduce that every human being, man or woman, wishes to find a companion that is more beautiful, more intelligent and with more capacity for love than we have. If we have this in common, then it means that it comes from God. We can then deduce that even God, being who He is, and without diminishing everything that He is, wished for us to be better than Himself.
Thus, from all of God’s creation, which being did God choose to be His object of love? Could it be that one woman alone is the object of love? Could it be that one man alone is that object of love? When we speak about human beings we mean men and women.
The day when man and woman unite in true, absolute love, they as a couple become God’s object of love. In them God sees His characteristics reflected, and He can enjoy love with an objective being with value as infinite as His own.
In the beginning, God and Adam and Eve existed in order to form a relationship of love. God created Adam first and then Eve, in that order. Then how did God intend them to meet and unite? Why would God have created us in such a way? He created man first. Would you complain that God is chauvinistic?
We are living in an era in which women do not want to be less than men; there is a reason for that, and it will not always be like that. The question is, how should Adam and Eve have behaved in front of God? What should have been their position in front of God? Should they have been in front of God, to His left, to His right, behind or above Him? It is difficult to find the correct answer, but it is a question that we need to resolve. Let us suppose that both of them are to stand together, but who should go to the right, man or woman? Should women go to the right? Women seems right to me. I like that you have that aspiration.
When you go walking down the street with your husband, should you walk to his right or to his left? What do you think? Who has to be on the right side of God, man or woman? Why should woman be to the left of man? Let us use this logic, heart is heart and love is love, but women need protection from some-one who is stronger. In general, which is the arm that man uses better, the right or the left arm? That means that men need the right arm free, not to embrace the woman but to protect her from any harm coming from any wild animal or any savage man. No matter how robust or how confident a woman might be, when she is confronted by a wild animal, she immediately hides behind the man. (Applause)
The man has to be at the right side. Thus we can agree that man has to go to the right of God and woman to the left. Do you think God would like to embrace each one with one arm? And out of God’s love would He want us to be behind Him or in front of Him? Since God would like to embrace man and woman, He needs them to be in front of Him.
Would God like that a man and a woman’s forehead meet and touch or not? Then if man is strong and woman is not so strong it is because God created us like this, but beyond that, God wants both to be equal in love and to unite. When a woman is with the man she loves, does she like him to kiss her on the lips? Does she run away? No, she likes it.
Let us suppose that before the fall Adam and Eve were growing and maturing as teenagers. If one day God would have asked them, “Look at each other face to face” would they have avoided it or would they have looked? Then God would have told them, “Look at each other’s eyes, start touching each other with your look.” They would have enjoyed that look. You have to put yourselves in the position of Eve and your husband in the position of Adam. What would you have done if God asked you to do such a thing?
Later on, God would have asked them to touch each other’s nose, then each other’s lips, the ears, the hands and later on everything else. If they would not have sinned, the day would have come in which God was going to bless them in matrimony. They grew up as brother and sister, but one day, when they had matured physically and spiritually, this love was no longer going to satisfy them, so God would have asked them to marry.
What would have happened if God told them, “I want to see how you kiss, I want to see how your lips touch”? That was the ideal. Do you think God wanted to see the day in which they would kiss or not? Would He have wanted to see that day or not? (Yes)
God wanted to see the day in which they looked into each other’s eyes and they became like the most beautiful flower. He wanted to see the day in which they would have united in an embrace and a kiss. Perhaps Eve would have been like you, a little chubby, and Adam would have been skinny. (Laughter) Without a doubt, God would have wanted to see that day.
What do you think God would have done the day in which Adam and Eve, in a pure relationship, would have kissed in that manner? What kind of expression would God have used? Would God have laughed with joy, “Ha Ha Ha” or what would God have done? God would have wanted to get in between their lips at the very moment they kissed. Do you understand?
You must know that God’s desire to kiss Adam and Eve with His love had to be stronger than the desire of man and woman to kiss each other.
Then, would they have had to kiss or not? Adam’s pride should have been that their first kiss would have been shared with God, under God’s permission. The bitterness and sadness of the heart of God is that the world is full of beautiful people but they never have kissed with Him. In other words, God could never be part of that relationship. Am I wrong, or am I right? And what about you? Have you kissed this way with God?
Our first ancestors should have been a true man and a true woman. They should have united in true love. They should have kissed with true kisses in the company of God. Do you understand or not?
Of the 800 ladies gathered here today, raise your hands if you believe you are the woman God wanted at the beginning.
We must know that the ideal position for marriage is that man and woman grow in true, absolute love, that they mature and unite with that love, and that they kiss with that love. These are not difficult things to talk about, but we realize that we are far from the pattern which God wanted to establish at the beginning for humanity. Each and everyone of you, after what we have talked about today, will feel what your position is with respect to the ideal which God had for the first man and the first woman.
When we all go to the Kingdom of Heaven, do you suppose that everyone will want to go into the room where God is, stay in the garden outside, or remain in a distant land? Do you want to enter the room where God is? That means that if God is sleeping, would you want to accompany Him in His sleep?
Our heart knows our position, our distance, and our relationship with God. You could have been Miss Uruguay, but that is not the important thing. What matters is our heart.
You are a beautiful woman. Could it be that you shook hands with a man that pleases God? Is he a man whom God sees and says, “That is my son; he is a man of absolute love”? No woman and no man are qualified as the persons that God wanted when He created us.
Has any man been in the position to shout “Eve!” with all his heart and also Eve to shout “Adam!” and both of them together shout “God!”? No man has been in that position. What happened when they fell? God asked, “Adam, where are you?” No matter how much they called out to God at that moment, He would not have wanted to know about them. We are the descendants of that couple. This applies to everyone, no matter how beautiful you are. I am sorry madam.
If it is not clear how we fell and what our situation is, how can we know the clear way of salvation? Thus baptism and other sacraments are very important spiritual conditions but they are not a way to full restoration. It is not that easy for us to be restored. If Jesus is in the position of groom, and the Christians and the church are in the position of bride, the level that we have to achieve in order to relate to the Son of God is the pure level of Adam and Eve before the fall.
In this sinful and evil world, do you think the beautiful people live in a manner that is closer to God or farther from God? In this evil world, beautiful people have more possibilities to deviate from the ideal, to be tempted, to take advantage of others, and to separate from God. How many women notice that many handsome men look at them because they are beautiful and are not satisfied with just one man? God does not like that, and they ultimately separate from God. God likes the woman who loves with purity and humility.
Each of you might have a husband or someone to love, or you did in the past. The problem is that up until now men and women have not been able to unite and have children of whom God could focus all His heart, love and being.
Distinguished ladies, have you found a man who could be an original man, a man of true love? This is a difficult question and a serious problem. This question helps us realize how far we are from being those original men and women, because we lost our original model.
Is first love precious or not? No one forgets their first love. It is very difficult to find a love that makes us feel like the first love did. In this world 40% of the men are missing, so how are those women who are left behind going to be blessed? Can a single woman go in front of God and pretend to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? By ourselves; we cannot unite with God completely; there is a reason why God created man and woman. Why are there two eyes? Why didn’t God put just one eye here in the middle? Why did He make two nostrils in the nose instead of one big hole for breathing? Inside our mouth we also have two holes. We have two ears. We have everything in pairs.
If someone has just one eye, is that normal? If someone is missing one nostril, is that normal? That is not normal. We could go in front of God alone but it would not be normal.
Have you lived as you should? Has anyone done so? What is the conclusion? The problem is serious. Are you determined to live according to my recommendations? Do you think that you can change your habits now in spite of your age? If people’s food habits are difficult to change, how are they going to get rid of wrong love habits, when the desire for love is stronger than the desire for food? How can we correct the way people love? Many of you would think, “What a pity that I came here, because now that I heard this, my conscience is going to be more active. If I had not come I could have continued doing what I please.” Although a person may want to get rid of bad habits, they do not want to leave us. It is not easy.
RELIGION REQUIRES PEOPLE TO CHANGE THEIR WAY OF LIFE
For this reason, religion requires people to change their way of life and deny what they like. Buddhism always required that its believers abandon their families, their homes, everything. This placed them in a position worse than beggars, with nothing. They are asked to abandon the world, their country, their society, their family, their grandparents, their parents and their children. They have to abandon everything and go up the mountain to begin a different way of life. Why does religion require such serious sacrifices? It is because our families, our nations, our countries are not qualified before God. That is why God asks us to change our way of life and to abandon what we own.
Is there a country among the 33 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean which could be the nation of God? What about Uruguay?
When Adam and Eve left with Satan and did what they should not have done, all of humanity went with them because we have our roots in them. Because of that, God has been alone and humanity has drifted farther and farther away from God to the point where human beings say that “God is dead,” or they do not believe that God exists. Such people are like orphans without a home, without a family, without a nation, who do not know where they come from or who gave them life-all because they do not have parents. That is the position of humanity separated from God.
We lost our original Father and we lost our original homeland. That is why God made the foundation to send His son, the Messiah, to the earth. Now God and His son Jesus must choose a person to give people a clear vision of how to go in the opposite direction to that of evil, of Satan and be restored.
How can we differentiate good from evil? We know that evil began when Satan thought, “What about me?” In other words, when he began thinking about himself, that was the origin of evil.
How about yourselves. Generally speaking, people are selfish and individualistic, and they like privacy. That corresponds to Satan’s ideology rather than God’s; it is the result of what Satan sowed in the Garden of Eden when he made Adam and Eve think of themselves.
Those who like privacy also like to have material things for themselves, not to share them. Just imagine what would happen if birds were selfish, if the grass were selfish, if the air were selfish: who could survive? If we think of privacy as the original way of life, we should not eat anything. Why do we eat, if food has its own life? To profess our privacy is to ignore the privacy of animals and vegetables. We sin against nature when we are selfish; have you thought about that? What special right or privilege do you think we have if God expelled us from Eden? We are conscious that from our first ancestors until now, humanity has been sinning against nature. When we look at creation, we should feel ashamed in front of the animal and vegetable kingdoms. What gives us the right to claim privacy?
Those who profess and multiply privacy, should they go to heaven or hell?
If we want to go back to God we have to walk the road opposite to selfishness and individualism. The Bible says that in the last days, the enemies will be those from your own home. Why will your home be your own enemy? We should not follow the customs of the world for if we follow the way that the world professes, we won’t return to God. Thus, we have come through a wrong way. Logically, to be restored, we have to go through the opposite way-there is no other way.
Throughout history, God asked the great religions and their believers to abandon their homes, to abandon their habits, and to take a direction opposite to that of the world; otherwise there would be no way to return to God and to our original homeland.
No matter how difficult the way to God is, we know that it is not going to be difficult because it is the way back home.
Compared with all the days of your life, these past three days of Divine Principle study is a short period of time. You should study Divine Principle for at least 40 days in order to awaken your conscience deeply. Our ancestors definitely followed a wrong way, and we are also going the wrong way. Have you changed your viewpoint in these three days? How many degrees has your mind turned?
Has God been loving me? (Yes) Do you think that God, who has sustained me during 50 years of receiving insults, criticism and persecution, loves me? (Yes) Then why does He send me through such a path? There is no jail that I do not know in Korea, Japan or the U.S. Why? Because there were women who did not accomplish their responsibility. I tell you, because of women, I went to jail. I decided to give my life and risk my life every step of the way, but there were women with a mission to fulfill who just were looking after them-selves. That is why I had to go to jail. At that time I felt like twisting their noses.
The Uruguayan women are very beautiful. Are you going to do the same to me? (No) No? Aren’t women all the same? (No) That means that although those Orientals made me suffer, you Uruguayans will not? I believe that Uruguayans probably cannot keep a secret for more than one week. (Laughter) But Orientals keep quiet; they speak little. Think about it, if there is an Oriental and an Occidental woman, observe them? Who speaks a lot and who speaks a little? Who do you think could dominate the situation? Do you know Chinese women? They could know a lot about everything, but no one knows what they know; they keep everything inside. Can you Uruguayan women do that?
Let us go back to the main topic. Why is a woman born as a woman? She is born so that she can meet a man who would love her absolutely; thus both can form a marriage where God can enjoy. God would have poured out all His love into each one of them so that they could feel His love through each other. That is the ideal of woman, that is why she was born.
Adam was created as Eve’s twin; that is to say that they were created as brother and sister. He was also created to become a king, so he was a brother and at the same time the future king. As the first son of God, he was to become king of brothers, the king of husbands, the head of the kingdom, and the heir of all things on earth and in the spiritual world. Through what? Through his love organ, because the day in which he would have united in absolute love with Eve, all of that would have begun.
As we have mentioned in previous speeches, the fall destroyed heaven and earth, and it reversed all things. This is the key to everything. Our sexual organ does not belong to us. God is the owner of love and God created the love organ; therefore, let us not deceive God, let us not deceive our husbands. This love organ absolutely has to be used as God desires, do you understand?
Adam and Eve’s matrimony would have been consummated the day when the love they experienced as children was perfected. Matrimony is the perfection of children’s love. They would have learned to love as children and then learned to love as brother and sister. Their marriage was to be the perfection of brother and sister’s love. Marriage is the place where man and woman can practice true conjugal love, and when they procreate children, they experience the same feelings that God felt when He watched them growing up.
Thus, man and woman were created to occupy God’s position; they were to become God on the earth and they would have felt the same feelings as He does. Because of the fall, which happened in just one instant, they destroyed the base for the love of true children, the base for the love of true brother and sister, the base for the love of true husband and wife, and the base for the love of true parents. They lost these four types of love. Eve betrayed her brother when she kicked him, the son of God, and kicked the path to perfect brotherly love. She destroyed the base for the establishment of God’s family on earth; as a result, the parents of the universe could not solidify on the earth. She destroyed every-thing. They destroyed all the roads which could lead us to God.
The question is, how is woman going to restore Eve’s failure, which destroyed the four great dimensions of love? She betrayed her brother, her future husband, the future true father, and she betrayed all the elements which God had prepared to establish His sovereignty here.
In just one generation everything was lost. Then, through the Lord of the Second Advent’s return, all can be restored in just one generation at the worldwide level. You should know that just as Adam and Eve were created to be absolute brother and sister, today the person whom God sends is in the position of Adam and is in the position of absolute brother to you. Thus, Eve should not have met another true son other than Adam, she should not have met another true brother other than Adam, she should not have united with anyone, except with Adam when the moment arrived. She destroyed her previous engagement with Adam.
You must also know that husbands are in the position of archangels, of fallen archangels. Thus our children cannot have a direct relationship with God, because they are the children of the archangel.
Why do I insist on the same point? So you can put yourselves in their position. We have to recover all that was lost. Then you have to look at the person whom God sent as your brother. What do you think? He is your brother and you have to love him more than any other brother.
The husbands are in the position of archangels; thus, just as Eve related with the archangel and later with Adam, in the last days, women have conjugal relationships with their husband and a brotherly relationship with the person whom God sends.
Many women, even in such closed societies as the oriental ones, relate with two men because they do not know God’s viewpoint. They feel a rejection for their husband because he is in the position of archangel. More divorces are taking place in this era than ever before because of this spiritual phenomenon. This is the fruit of what was sown. The destruction of the family is the root of free sex and homosexuality. Therefore, the person whom God sends to Eve as her brother has to protect her and point her back to her lost direction.
Let’s unite, you and I, as true brother and sisters with the mission to restore your husbands, your families, and humanity back to God! We will take a unique road, going forward without a doubt, without hesitation, without looking to the side, as son and daughters of God, for this is what we are. This is the road which we have to follow together, you and I. We do this in order to restore the four types of love which God lost in the Garden of Eden.
My mission is to restore in my family what Adam lost and to tell the world how to restore it. We need to have a brother/ sister relationship so you can restore it at home.
If it is true that I am the person whom God sent, are you going to follow me? If I tell you to leave Uruguay, what will you do? You should know that if it is necessary to sacrifice Uruguay to save Latin America, you have to forget Uruguay.
That is the will of God! (Applause) If it is necessary to sacrifice all of South America to save the Americas, we have to do it!
(Applause) If it is necessary to sacrifice America to save the world, we have to do it! (Applause) If it is necessary to sacrifice the world to liberate God, we have to do it! (Applause) That is Adam’s responsibility as a son, as a brother, as a husband and as a father.
Can these four levels of heart be restored without the coming of the person whom God had prepared? Then, just as Eve gave the first step to destroy God’s ideal, Eve has the mission to recognize the person whom God sends to help restore God’s ideal on the earth.
Are you going to follow me? (Yes) It is not easy because you have to deny yourself. Whoever wants to save someone has to deny himself.
We lost God’s lineage and God’s right of ownership because evil kept every-thing and the true heart of love was lost. Our life has been filled with suffering because we have had to pay for the restoration of everything that was lost. Now we are standing upon the foundation to receive God’s blessing. Without the sacrifice that we have made, we could not have received God’s lineage and changed our spiritual situation completely. That which was lost because of false parents, today is restored by the True Parents. That is why this transcends the borders of your country, the borders of your race and of your religion. This is not limited by race, by border, or religion. We are brothers and sisters who meet after being separated for millions of years. That is why in the Unification Church we do not have any problem of race, nationality or religion. We get married with the absolute conviction that we are doing what God desires.
What do you think of me? Am I a True Father or a false father? What is false cannot be differentiated from what is true externally, but internally.
Man is born to meet the woman with whom he will live eternally, and vice versa. When man and woman meet they are going to experience love. It is for love that man and woman are born and seek each other. That is the answer to the question about why you were born. That is the origin of the universe. Today people discuss whether it was evolution or creation, but the ideology of pairs transcends the theories of both creation or evolution. We must know that this was the base of the universe, man and woman, masculine and feminine. Why man and woman? It is a formula which is in everything. In the vegetable world everything exists in relations of stamen and pistil, subject and object. In the mineral world everything exists in the union of pairs. In the animal world male and female, from early age, look for each other; they meet and procreate following this formula. How do we find it in the human world? In man and woman, concave and convex. If the woman’s love organ is concave and the man’s love organ is convex, what are they for: to unite or stay alone? It is for them to unite. How? They unite in matrimony, in life as a couple.
When you love a man, do you wish to unite with him absolutely and eternally, or do you prefer free sex? What is the function of free sex? It is the devil’s strategy to expand hell on this earth. Homosexuality and lesbianism come from the archangel, because he was created to serve Adam and Eve and not to have sexual relationships with them. Without a cause there can be no result; the phenomena of free sex and homosexuality are due to some clear reason.
A woman is woman because she has that organ of love. If she did not have it she would not be a woman, no matter what face she had. Why do women have that organ of love? Why do men and women have those organs of love? They are for love.
Without those organs, men and women would never realize love. Because the ancestors sinned, the sexual organ turned into something low, dirty and sometimes shameful, but originally it was not created that way. Could children be born without those organs? Nations would not exist if those organs of love did not exist.
God created those organs to be the original palace of love, life, lineage and conscience. Because people misused them, they became the instruments that destroyed the ideal of humanity. Millions of people suffer today because of that relationship.
Men are marrying among themselves and women among women. Such things are difficult to find in the animal world. This tells us how low humanity has become degraded. We became worse than animals. Who has made us that way? The devil, Satan.
We have to return to God and follow a path 180 degrees in the opposite direction. What is the opposite to free sex? Absolute sex in matrimony, sex that is absolute, eternal and unchanging. Thus, woman was born to meet a true man, someone who could love her eternally, as an absolute, unique, eternal, and unchanging husband. We should have been born from the union of vertical and horizontal parents. God is our vertical parent and our physical parents are the horizontal parents. We should have received the lineage of God, the vertical parent. God is vertical, while this physical world is horizontal, but God is the center, the axis upon which the whole universe rotates. There are not two axes.
All creation turns around one center, and God is that vertical axis. Then, the day when Adam and Eve matured completely and became able to love with the love they learned from God, they were to unite conjugally in a horizontal way and form a 90-degree angle with God. Every relationship of love has to be first centered on God. On the day when Adam and Eve married, they would have become the complete reflection of God, and they would have put themselves in the position of objects of God’s love. The day of Adam and Eve’s marriage should have been the day of God’s marriage. Then the love of God would have been completely realized.
If Adam and Eve had not sinned, we would have been born representing those two parents, and our spirit would have been the reflection of God’s spirit.
The union of Adam and Eve would have been simultaneous with the union of God with them. If they had not sinned, our mind would be our vertical “I” -an absolute and eternal “I” with eternal life. The heart does not age because it is love that maintains youth and eternity, and we have received those elements from the love of God. Having been created with eternal life, people would have enjoyed eternal happiness. We know that the body gets old and dies; it is formed with the elements from the earth, so when we die these elements return to the earth, to dust.
Adam was created to be God’s first son, the first True Father, the earth’s first king-not only of the physical world but also of the spiritual world-as God’s heir. That was the destiny that God intended for all of us, to be kings here and in the spiritual world. That is the reason why young women want to be queens and young men want to be kings. We were all created to be just that.
We all want to reach the highest position and to grow infinitely in width, in height, and in depth. Our body is very valuable. It is not to be used as we please; we have to give it value. The moment in which you meet your husband to make love, you have to feel that you are meeting with the body of God. It is the moment in which you can love God. The man also has to feel that his wife is God’s queen because she was created to be so; thus he should love her as God’s daughter, as God’s queen. Do not allow immoral love to come into such relationship.
We are living in the age to restore the ideal that was lost in the Garden of Eden. That is why the title of today’s speech is, “In Search of Our Original Homeland.” Our homeland is the palace of true love. In order to return to true love, we have to start with our homes, our families, our spouse, our sons and daughters.
You cannot imagine how much suffering and tribulation I went through to reach the position of True Father and to know the secrets of the heart of God, and the heart of evil. Today I have the responsibility to share it with you. How have I overcome so much in such a lonely course and am still alive today? When I discovered what God had lost, I knew what I had to search for. I realized that Adam had a responsibility to be Eve’s subject and help her reach perfection as God’s daughter and queen. However, he was not responsible and he did not protect her; he did not help her reach that for which she was created. And he never knew what he had done. When I discovered what happened when Adam fell, I realized how big the problem was. I learned how much God had lost because of Adam and that I had the mission to recover it.
Who is going to be responsible for the husbands returning to their original position? Someone has to come to take responsibility for that. Adam has that responsibility, thus I have the responsibility to return everyone to God. The only way for a woman to return to God and bring her family and her husband back to God is to obey the person who comes in the position of Adam. Just as that person has to be absolutely obedient to God, a woman has to have the same type of obedience towards him. How many women has Satan used to destroy God’s ideal? It is Adam’s responsibility to help women return to God so that they can be used by God to recover all that was lost.
I am going to have to train the Uruguayans very strongly. That is why I would like to invite all of you to participate in the 3.6 Million Couples Blessing next year in Washington D.C. Amen?
