Father’s Speech at Pledge Service On February 24, 1996 In Sao Paulo, Brazil
I am using English translation this morning for providential reasons. The Christian cultural sphere represents Eve’s culture and the English language comes from England, which used to be .in the mother’s position. English has become the worldwide language, and with it we can enhance God’s providence in a short time period.
There is a Cain/ Abel relationship between America and England; however, Cain and Abel do not decide who holds the elder son’s birthright. When True Parents come, they deter-mine who has the elder son’s birthright. After World War II, if the entire world had united with True Parents, centering on Christianity, the elder son’s birthright would have been determined, but because of Christianity’s failure it didn’t happen. This being so, we have used the English language in order to unite the entire world and the Christian culture.
The fallen world has lost the children, Cain and Abel; there-fore, the mother should embrace them, restore them, and engraft them to the coming Messiah, the bridegroom. The mother’s language, English in this case, has been a major tool for bringing about the restoration of Cain and Abel and engrafting them into the culture of the bridegroom, who comes as the True Parent to mankind.
Therefore, the mother, along with the Cain and Abel type children, has to overcome the barriers and hurdles of the fallen world and join the True Parent, who is beyond the scope of the fallen world. Centering on the True Mother, all the children who have been restored from the fallen world have to be transferred to the realm of the bridegroom, the True Father. Therefore, even though English has been a major tool to bring people back to God, from now on Father’s culture, language and tradition, which is Korean, will be the only one we will use.
RE-CREATE YOUR CULTURE AND TRADITION
I am declaring a significant point today. The number 76, which is the age I reach this morning, divided by four equals 19. Nineteen is just one number short of 20. Thus, these four years prior to the year 2000 are the most critical providential time period, because they will consummate God’s entire providence. From now on, major Unification Church holidays will be celebrated through the Korean language and the Korean culture, which is my language and culture. Soon those who do not speak Korean may not be able to attend this type of conference. Wherever I stay, only those who speak Korean will be allowed to enter and participate in events. Those who do not speak Korean will have to use a translator to receive my message.
I have been sending out Korean and Japanese missionaries to 160 nations because I want to make sure that the mother culture, which comes from the Japanese missionaries, and the father culture, represented by the Korean missionaries, will be transferred and engrafted into each of the 160 nations. I am giving you Japanese women missionaries so that you can re-create your language, culture and tradition. Each of the 160 nations has ten Japanese women missionaries, the Korean missionary’s wife, and the national leader’s wife; that makes 12 women leaders. Centering upon these 12 women you will have to strengthen your national foundation. You have to be totally united with the Korean missionary and his wife so that you can go through the recreation process of language, culture and tradition.
There is a providential reason for going through this formula. These 12 women must be united with the male Korean missionary, representing Adam and his 12 children. Jesus had 12 disciples; now, during the Completed Testament Age, the entire world has to be united, based on the 12 women who are united with the Korean missionary, who is in my position in your nation. There are three different levels of 12 disciples, forming 36 blessed couples who follow True Parents. Now your missionary is your central figure, and the 12 women leaders represent the 12 disciples.
REACH LARGE GROUPS OF PEOPLE
The time is changing. Soon we won’t have to go out to witness to people. Since I declared the World University Federation a few days ago in Uruguay, all colleges and universities in the world as well as high schools and middle schools will join the Federation of World Universities, Federation of World High Schools, Federation of World Middle Schools, and Federation of World Elementary Schools. These federations will function as the major tool to educate young people. Most families have children enrolled in one of these institutions; therefore, the parents, friends, uncles and aunts will eventually be led by these young students who will be educated through our federation activities. Heads of state, professors, and religious leaders will also join these associations and be educated. We will not have to deliberately go out to reach people, but they will be educated through such structured activities all over the world.
World leaders, heads of state, government officials, professors, generals, and all those so-called famous people are fallen; they do not know Divine Principle. In order to reach the world more effectively, I will use computer systems such as the Internet to educate young people and reach them all at one time. We will use the long distance- learning program as a major tool to promote our educational program on the world wide level. Education represents the philosophical world and sports represent the body. In order to unify mind and body we have to develop our internal characteristics as well as our external body. Through education we can cultivate the world’s mind, and through sports we can develop the world’s body, thus uniting the entire world. This will blossom and culminate at the World Cultural and Sports Festival.
EXPAND THE FAMILY-LEVEL CULTURE WORLDWIDE
I started the World Cultural and Sports Festival from scratch; we rented first a tent and then a gymnasium. I began from scratch because I know that this is the way to unite the entire world mind and the entire world body, just as an individual’s mind and body are united. Once this becomes successful we will introduce the hobby industry, enabling people to enjoy life. What is the definition of the culture of the Kingdom of Heaven? It can be interpreted as the hobby culture of the ideal world. It is the extension of a family unit-the relationship between parents and children, brothers and sisters, and husband and wife. It is like in the original Garden of Eden, where people were supposed to communicate with animals, plants and the mineral world. The extension of such family activities is the hobby culture of the world.
Such a culture is the culture of love, because such a world has the atmosphere of love. It is the Kingdom of Heaven or, earth. There will be no national boundaries, only one tradition centered on True Parents’ love. There will be nothing to learn because we will practice our understanding of truth and experience God dwelling with us 24 hours a day.
What you inherit from True Parents is the family-level culture and world-level culture, but the family-level culture is more essential because the world-level culture is its extension. Without establishing the family-level culture we cannot expect to see the world-level culture. Three generations of your family-grandparents, parents and children-will establish your family-level culture, which will expand horizontally to connect to the world-level culture. Then it will expand vertically without limit for eternity.
Your family-level culture should enable you to travel the entire world horizontally as well as vertically. You should be able to go around the entire world and come back to the original point, which is your family. Therefore, the family-level culture is the key.
This is a small explanation of how your family structure can develop the family-level culture and become the world-level culture. The world culture is spherical because it expands from the various family-level relationships, including the vertical relationship between parents and children and the horizontal relationships between husband and wife and between brothers and sisters. With these family relationships, we can expand to the entire world, and when the world sphere is formed come back to the original point, our family. By developing the vertical relationship, you will be able to reach God and encompass Him in your grand sphere.
In order to establish this sphere you have to perfect seven points: front and rear, up and down, right and left, and the center. These seven points must be united centered on true love. These points can be extended to form a world-level sphere. The number seven represents completion. The completion of these seven points forms a globe, representing the number eight.
There is always a vertical axis, forming perpendicular lines at a 90-degree angle. Human beings were created by God to stand upright. Even when we are sitting we form a 90 degree angle. We are the only creatures who sleep on our backs. Thus when we lie down we are facing God and asking God to embrace us. There is a big irony, however, while Oriental people sleep on their backs and face God, asking Him to embrace them, Westerners sleep on their stomachs, facing down like animals; that’s why free sex and homosexual problems predominate in the Western hemisphere.
UNITE SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL CULTURE
The culture and civilization of the Orient have produced spiritual power and teaching, whereas practical sciences come from the West. Thus, Western culture is more like a sports culture, more centered on physical activity, whereas the Oriental culture is more philosophical.
The Lord of the Second Advent combines these different aspects of culture. The spiritual culture and the physical culture will be totally united, centered on True Parents, through true love, the love which offers itself for the sake of others. Because of the human fall the father figure was
chased out; therefore in the fallen world only Cain, Abel and the mother figure exist. The mother’s cultural realm, the Cain and Abel cultural realms, and the archangel’s cultural realm exist, yet there is no Adamic cultural realm in this world.
Therefore, the teachings of the Lord of the Second Advent have been introducing this new Adamic cultural realm to Christianity. This will be achieved when the Lord of the Second Advent unites the mother’s cultural realm and the archangel’s cultural realm. This will only happen through true love and true life; it will begin at the family level. That is why within this realm everything has to be restored; then we will finally be able to restore the realm of heart, the realm of possessions, and the true love center.
The fall chased out true love, true life and true lineage; the entire ideal love center was lost. How can we find all these things again? Only through the True Parents, who bring true love, true life, true lineage, and true consciousness. True love connects all these things, uniting the mother’s position, the children’s position and the archangel’s position. Through this process we will be able to enter the Kingdom of God.
UNITE TOTALLY WITH MOTHER
When the Second Advent comes, the purpose of education is not to restore the elder son’s birthright but to restore the realm of Eve. Christianity is in the position of bride, and the Lord of the Second Advent is in the position of bridegroom. The mother figure should raise the children to receive the bridegroom, the father, along with her. Upon that foundation, the Lord of the Second Advent will give people the true lineage, true life and true love tradition. That’s the way education will take place. Because children in this fallen world do not have anything to do with True Parents, the only way they can be connected with True Parents is through Mother. Once they are united with Mother, they can be engrafted to Father’s lineage.
In order to be engrafted to the true love, true lineage and true life through True Parents you have to be totally united with Mother and go through her. The completion of this engrafting process is the transformation of your lineage and your possessions from Satan’s side to God’s side. Your possessions include all the assets you have, even the realm of heart. The fall took place at the family level, and as a result everything on the family level was lost. Thus, the transformation of lineage, possessions, and culture should take place on the family level. Once this transformation expands to the tribal, societal, national, and worldwide levels, then the entire world will be the Kingdom of God.
RESTORE YOUR FAMILY AND TRIBE
I gave you the blessing of tribal messiahship because through this you can restore your family and tribe first, which are the basic units you need to work with. When we talk about tribe, we are talking about seven generations of your immediate family; these are like the first seven generations of Adam’s tribe. Centering on True Parents, the realm of the individual, family, tribe, nation, and world have been completed. That is why True Parents can stand here as an axis. You have to accomplish your tribal messiahship and be engrafted to this axis, to True Parents’ success and victory. That’s all you have to do. Ultimately, the entire world will become the unified world.
Whatever power, possessions, knowledge, or money that you have in this fallen world belong to Satan, and you must reject them and come back to True Parents’ side. History teaches such lessons. Lot and his family were supposed to walk away from Sodom and Gomorrah without looking back; Lot’s wife who looked back became a pillar of salt. By the same token, all the major religions teach people to leave their home and their family.
When the time comes, you must reject this fallen world’s possessions and everything that belongs to this fallen world and strictly follow True Parents’ direction. You have to follow an ascetic life. You have a fallen body and fallen blood lineage which keeps instigating you to sin; you cannot get married until True Parents approve of your marriage. True Parents have come and are giving the blessing; only because of this grace of True Parents are you allowed to marry, establish families, and form homes. Otherwise, from God’s point of view no one is allowed to marry. Do you understand what I am saying?
I did not reveal this heavenly secret about the education of mankind to the president of the Unification Church first, but to the 160,000 Japanese women in Korea. Originally this kind of secret was supposed to be received by Christianity, but because of the failure of Great Britain, America and France to unite right after World War II, this blessing went to another Eve country, Japan.
BE READY TO FOLLOW FATHER’S DIRECTIONS
You Japanese women, your husbands are in the position of archangels; when you go to the wedding hall, I am in the position of the bridegroom, but I give the certificate to your husbands. When you go to the movie theater, I give your husbands the ticket to go in with you. Your husband is obligated to cope with your character and your desires, because he is in place of someone else; he is not the original one. Otherwise, the husbands will be reprimanded! When the last days come during the Completed Testament Age and I give the direction to restore your tribe, your nation or any other providential level, your husband must accept this direction from me.
Thus, your marriage is not completed. There are other levels of marriage: the formation, growth and perfection levels of marriage. Who knows what is in the future? By the same token, there will be three different levels of blessing: the church-level blessing, the national-level blessing and world-level blessing. Even though you receive the church-level blessing, if you have not fulfilled all the conditions to receive the national-level blessing, you will be cut off there. Those who have received the national-level blessing and do not meet all the conditions to go to the world-level blessing will be cut off when the world-level blessing takes place.
However, I am giving you a secret way: tribal messiahship. By completing your tribal messiah mission, you will be qualified to go to the world-level blessing, because when you deal with your tribe, there will be many levels and types of marriages: formation-stage married couples, growth-stage married couples, and completion-stage married couples. All kinds of families and people are included there, and when you deal with them and successfully bring them to God, you will be qualified to bring them to the world-level blessing. Thus the tribal messiah mission is critical.
Where there is an absolute subject, the absolute object will emerge, and where there is an absolute object, the absolute subject will emerge. Tribal messiahship has the same theme as True Parents. It is as if we take one branch from True Parents’ tree and plant it in the ground. The same type of tree will grow; that is tribal messiahship. The quality of the tree should be the same.
In order to establish the Kingdom of God on earth we need a national sovereignty, but until now there has not been one. Centering on 160 nations I have won the victory, and when the tribal messiahs complete their missions of restoring 160 families and registering them as heavenly citizens, we will have a heavenly country, heavenly sovereignty and heavenly kingdom.
BE READY TO TRAVEL
To prepare for that time you must be able to speak Korean; you must know True Parents’ language and True Parents’ tradition. Otherwise, you cannot connect to True Parents. There will be a heavenly constitution, and once you are registered you will have total freedom within the bounds of the heavenly constitution. You will be able to travel anywhere, because your conscience will lead you.
Once the 3.6 million couple blessing takes place, there will be many different branches of the tree. All the senior blessed couples will be able to travel freely wherever they want to go because they will be needed all over the world. The members will be connected with the bride’s position as one body. To be one body means to be free. Do you understand? You will be connected with the front, rear, right side, left side, in every direction as one body. You blessed couples, especially the senior couples, can visit every family and stay freely for three to seven days and then come back. All 3.6 million newly blessed couples will be longing to receive any of the senior blessed couples into their homes and learn from them. When the demand is strong, you will have no excuse; you cannot say that you could not get a visa, that you did not have the money, or that you did not have time. This will not be accepted. Neither can you say, “I do not speak your language, and I didn’t have a translator so I could not visit you.” You cannot say, “I cannot eat kimchi or kochi-chong because I’ll have diarrhea.” We should have the same culture and language and eat the same food.
In order to provide this kind of mobility, I already started producing mini-vans. I am thinking about these things already. One of these vans can hold your whole family, and you can eat fish powder for one month. You need only drinking water, which you can mix with the fish powder for your meals. If you take one bag full of fish powder you can travel for one or two months without stopping. Of course, if you become a space pilot and have to stay in space for a month or two, then even if you have fish powder, you will need water. Where can you get water? We can build a space station to store a billion gallons of water. So wherever a spaceship goes it can get a supply of water.
We do not see how the water reaches the top of a tree; we do not see the capillary function. In the same way, I came up with a brilliant idea this morning. If we collect wool and weave a rope out of it extending from a body of water all the way to the space station, the water will eventually travel all the way up to the space station. Then it can be stored in the space station in a water tank. Also, there will be a space travel system using a universal force which can allow you to travel quickly. There will be a space train, and it will not need fuel because it will use this universal force.
There will be three kinds of families in the future: the van family, traveling on the ground; the submarine family, traveling under water; and the spaceship family traveling in outer space. Of course, it will be free. You could stay one week on the ground in a van, the second week under the water in a submarine, and the third week up in the sky in a spaceship. This will be no problem because there will be no shortage of food. Do you understand? We need a certain level of technology to bring about that kind of world; I have this kind of high technology.
When we travel like that, should we just eat and sleep? No, we have to enjoy our life. When we are up in space we should be able to enjoy the stars with a telescope. Since the universe is so huge, it may take 10 years or 100 years to send a spaceship to the stars, and while this spaceship is traveling you can keep watch and maintain records day by day, year by year. While your entire family is traveling by spaceship to a distant galaxy you can get married, give birth to children, and pass on to the spirit world, but your family line will continue, even if it takes seven generations to reach the destination.
When you join the spiritual world there is no limitation of time and space; wherever you want to go you arrive instantaneously. People say that Rev. Moon is crazy. Fifty years ago when I said that in the near future we would be able to eat breakfast in London, fly to Tokyo for lunch, and have dinner in New York no one believed it. Do you still think that such kind of thinking is crazy? It is possible, isn’t it?
The last time Mr. Kamiyama was here, I gave him an ultimatum: Japan must fulfill a certain responsibility as the Eve nation; otherwise it has no hope. Also, Japan has the responsibility to unite North and South America. All these detailed secrets have been given to Mr. Kamiyama. Since Japan is in the mother’s position, the entire world, the whole Unification Church, must know these explanations now and unite with Japan. Otherwise, we will not be able to enter the Kingdom of God together.
EMBODY AND SPREAD MY MESSAGE
My New Year’s motto is “Be Proud of True Parents and Love True Parents” and my message given in North and South America is included in the booklet that each Japanese missionary takes to the 160 nations. These messages will be translated into every language and the entire world must study them. The Korean and Japanese missionaries in the position of father and mother must educate the world about these contents and also the contents of the speech I gave during my last speaking tour [“The True Family and I”].
Once this message is given to all the people in the world and they are properly educated, there will be no more messages from me, because you will not need any more. Once you master this message you will be the embodiment of True Parents. If you master my philosophy and teaching you can go any-where and represent me, teaching and educating people. Then you will not need me, you will not have to come to see me and receive my directions. You can forget about me from this moment on. If you keep longing for me and missing me all the time, it is not good. Suppose I join the spirit world; what are you going to do?
I am giving you the ultimatum to stand on your own two feet and become your own master. I have been teaching you on so many different levels. You have given your pledge on the individual, tribal, national, and worldwide levels, yet you could not fulfill your mission. Therefore, I had no choice but to work in your place and complete all the levels up to this point. It has almost become a habit for you to make a promise, fail to accomplish it, and then forget it. I don’t want to see that any more. I want you to stand on your own two feet, become your own master, and fulfill your responsibility without my being involved. Do you understand? You should be able to build the Kingdom of God within your family. I have shown you every possible way and given you every means to follow.
From now on, the only task you should do with me is mass migration. When I say, “Now is the time for Unification Church members to go to Africa,” those of you who are heartistically united with me can come to Africa with your family and join True Family.
When I married Sung Jin Nim’s mother, if she had completely united with me, I would have perfected the family as the restored Messiah’s family. If Christianity had accepted me as the Lord of the Second Advent after World War II, the Christian-centered world would have been established. But because of the failure of Christianity after World War II, all of this potential went down the drain. I have rebuilt the victorious foundation. In order to bring this about, I had to begin at the individual level, and restore the family, tribe, and nation of Korea which had been sacrificed. I won the victory on every different level. I had to go back to the family level, establish my perfect family, and gain the victory on the tribal, national and worldwide levels. That’s the way the Kingdom of God will take place on the earth.
LOVE TRUE CHILDREN MORE THAN YOUR OWN CHILDREN
You have to fulfill your responsibilities as parents. You have to love True Children more than your own children, and you should become united with True Children first. That is how you can be elevated. Blessed couples should connect their children to my children so they can accomplish Cain/ Abel unity, creating a horizontal base. Then, together you can connect to True Parents. Without making that kind of foundation, your family cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and in heaven. Do you understand? This is the Principled way.
I have been living my whole life for the public purpose. When Kook Jin Nim was 14 years old, one day he suddenly stood up in front of me and challenged me saying, “Why can’t I meet my own father when I want to? Are you my father or are you the Unification Church’s father?” He protested because he wanted my love and attention and could not see me as often as he wanted to. Now, however, Kook Jin Nim under-stands my situation completely and becomes embarrassed when he remembers that time.
True children grew up shedding so many tears of longing for True Parents’ love, attention and care, yet it was not available. Why not? At school, peer pressure was always there, labeling them Moonies. When they went out to the world, no one welcomed them because they were my children. There was only one direction they could turn to, True Parents, but when they came home Father and Mother were not there. Think about what kind of heart they must have carried.
I left my own family in the middle of the wilderness and went out to restore the world. Satan looks for any small condition to damage the true Family, which is in the middle of the wilderness. Providentially I want to restore the Cain-type children in this fallen world and make them more genuine and more worthy than the True Children; that is my goal. I left my family in the wilderness and poured out my sweat and effort into Cain. When Satan sees these Cain-type children deviating and betraying me, he uses that condition to damage the True Family.
Because of the failure of Christianity right after World War II, Sung Jin Nim’s mother, who was in the position of original Eve, failed. Also, Sung Jin Nim became negative. Satan initiated this opposition, and eventually Christians opposed me, saying, “He doesn’t take care of his own family, but he formed the Unification Church.”
Therefore, one of the most important responsibilities of our Unification Church is to go to the zero point and be engrafted to True Parents; then you will become branches of True Parents. As such, you should be able to love True Parents’ children more than your own children.
From God’s point of view, True Parents are investing all their energy and sweat into restoring the Cain-type children and restoring the proper position of the elder son. While True Parents are investing everything in the Cain-type children, if these Cain-type elder sons don not fulfill their responsibility their failure will be transferred to the True Children.
The history of the providence deals with the relationship between Cain and Abel, the first and second sons. Usually the second son, who is in the position of Abel, has been sacrificed. Look at how in my own family the second sons have been sacrificed. The Cain-type second son, Hee Jin Nim, was sacrificed. Through Father and Mother, Heung Jin Nim was sacrificed out in the wilderness somewhere. The second daughter Hye Jin Nim has already passed into the spiritual world. No one can deny this formula. Any Unification Church member who criticizes or judges the True Family or the True Children will be punished because it is your responsibility.
This kind of formula applies also to your own family. S or leaders of the Unification Church have usually died of cancer, and so1:1e leaders will die of AIDS. Satan is ready to attack you even with that kind of punishment; in a way, this is a punishment from heaven. It was supposed to go to the satanic world first, but because the heavenly side leaders did not fulfill their responsibility, this kind of punishment will come to them first. A fearful time is coming.
Since I am on the front line, spearheading this whole era of direct dominion, soon your ancestors from the spiritual world will come down and punish you if you deserve it. At the time
of Adam’s family, punishment came from the archangel. If you commit the mistake of the archangel, you will be directly punished by your ancestors. Please understand that whatever is taking place in the True Family is your responsibility, because I have been putting every ounce of energy and effort into restoring you. The effects of your failure to accomplish your responsibility are manifested in the True Family.
From today on, if you see or meet anyone around you who criticized or judges True Parents’ family because of what is happening right now, you may challenge them. If someone writes a wrong letter, challenge them. I ordered True Children to keep any kind of wrong letter that comes to them, because in the future we will see how these problems have been solved. History will show it.
HELP SAVE NORTH KOREANS FROM STARVATION
Two former presidents of South Korea are now in jail, and in North Korea, Kim Il Sung has died and the regime is at the verge of collapse. Since I am in the position of True Father, instead of hammering on them I am trying to figure out how to help them and save them. That is my heart. Most of the free world is waiting for North Korea to starve to death; however, I am trying to find every possible means to feed them and save their lives. I have been trying through the United Nations, the Red Cross, and the American government. People are dying, and we must reach out our hands to help them instead of cursing them.
I have received an official license from America to help the North Korean people. With this license we can go to warehouses and buy up surplus food at one-fifth of the regular price and send it to North Korea. For example, in South America we can buy corn for $20 a ton; it regularly sells for $100 a ton. If we can send 3 million pounds of corn to North Korea, the 25 million North Koreans can survive. For $50 million, we can buy enough food to help the North Korean people live. I can do that. I sent a message to the KCIA director challenging him, “What do you think, should I do this in order to save the North Korean people or not?” What do you think? Should we do it? (Yes.)
What if I ask all the Unification Church members to donate $2,000 so we can buy 100 tons of corn to send to North Korea. Would you do that? (Yes.) All those who do not want to participate, show your hands.
If we do launch this kind of project and make it a success, we should let the entire world know about it. More than twenty million people are dying of starvation every year, and those who are concerned about this will pay attention to me and try to find out what kind of power enables me to give this kind of humanitarian support to those dying people. When they find out that it is not just a humanitarian philosophy but a God-given truth, within a few years more than three fourths of the entire population will learn my ideology.
America has the most surplus food, but South America has the land to produce enough food to feed the entire world. South America doesn’t have any owner. Who is the owner? Only the Unification Church members can take that position. Suppose all the Unification Church members and their friends are willing to donate $2,000 each to buy corn for North Korea and suppose scholars, religious leaders, and former heads of state come to South America to raise food to feed the hungry, don’t you think the world will follow us? By then we will have all kinds of associations of college, high school, middle school, and elementary school children, as well as associations of retired people, mothers, and fathers. When they are all educated properly and follow in these footsteps, do you think the world media will stay still? They will also support us. That is why I need the media world; that is why am building media facilities. We are building media organizations in 34 nations of Central and South America to connect them to North America.
Suppose your innocent 16 year-old child volunteers to come to South America to work on a farm to produce food for those starving people, and because of his hard work he dies here. He will be a martyr and a worldwide hero. We can use our media to stir up the world. Do you understand? Do you think your children should go to South America to help produce food to save the starving people of the world, or should you keep them around you? What do you want to do?
A MASS MIGRATION
