Heaven is symbolic of the father, and earth is symbolic of the mother. The sun symbolizes the father, and the moon symbolizes the mother. Air symbolizes the father, and water symbolizes the mother. We know that both air and water are life itself.
PARENTS ARE THE CENTER OF CREATION
The purpose of restoration history and the ideal of creation is the creation and recovery of parents. Parents are that important. They are God’s everything. Parents are the center of the entire creation. Centering upon parents, all things exist.
The kingship of earth and heaven is like both sides of the hands: the inside and outside of the same thing. It is like the relationship between mind and body in an individual person. If humankind had not fallen only one love, true love, would be in the center of mind and body unification. Only true love, centering on parents, can unify all that we intend to unify, such as mind and body, husband and wife, and parents and children. These three elements constitute families, as you know. The purpose of all creation is to create families. It is the formula and purpose of God’s creation itself. The purpose of men and women is the family unit.
Parents symbolize heaven and children symbolize earth. Heaven and earth must become harmoniously unified, and so must parents and children. Man and woman represent east and west, respectively. Heaven and earth, east and west are to be unified. North and south are closer to the relationship of up and down, or heaven and earth. The children represent the people of the world living harmoniously. We have to bear in mind that only hue love can bring all of these elements into harmonious unity. Because of the fall, a false love came into being, and now everyone exists centering upon this false love. We see conflict everywhere, and people are seeking unity and peace. False love, false life, false lineage and false consciousness are all components of the false families that fill the world. Day and night, people’s minds and bodies are in conflict, causing them pain. Parents and children live together with their minds and bodies separated. This becomes like eight people living together in conflict, instead of living in harmony.
CONFLICT BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL
Everyone longs for peace, but it is impossible for peace to come into existence easily. Instead of one large family of goodness coming into being, we have developed into one large, evil world. Therefore, individual by individual, God began separating good from bad. When God works to bring a person to His side, Satan refuses to release him. It is so obvious that the history of the world is the history of good and evil, typified by the Cain-Abel relationship and left and right wing ideologies. Centering upon Jesus, there was a split between right and left wings which can be traced back to Adam’s family and is still apparent in our world today.
The world has been fighting for such a long time between right and left wing. Now, the atheistic left wing has crumbled. After the fall, the children of Adam and Eve lived in conflict. The failure within Adam’s family was to be restored on the national level at Jesus’ time. However, at the national level, Jesus was unable to survive. Therefore, the thief on the left and the thief on the right, symbolizing Cain and Abel, continue to fight in the last days. In the last days, the Lord of the Second Advent, in the place of Jesus himself, will fulfill the role of parents on the worldwide level. He will restore the lost parents at the family level and the lost parents at the national level. At this third stage, the victory will be won by the Lord of the Second Advent. He will become the parent of the whole world and bring Cain and Abel into unity.
With the emergence of True Parents, Satan cannot claim the realm of true love. This realm is what Adam and Eve were meant to establish. What neither Adam nor Jesus could accomplish will now be fulfilled at the worldwide level by the Lord of the Second Advent, accomplishing the purpose of creation and opening up heaven, which is presently empty. All men, women and families will be brought into unity, and heaven on earth will be created. God’s purpose of creation is accomplished on the earth, not in heaven. This is the overview of God’s dispensation.
PREPARING THE BRIDE REALM
Forty years ago this could have been accomplished. We need to seriously consider why this could not be accomplished at that time. At the end of World War II, England, America and France were the three central nations of God’s providence. In God’s view, they represented Eve and Cain and Abel. On both the family and national levels, God had lost Eve, as well as Cain and Abel. Only after the Allied victory of World War II was the bride realm of the Christian culture able to make complete unity, for the first time in history. Mind and body, heaven and earth could have then come into oneness. At that point, all the restored family units could have become one with the bridegroom, the Messiah. This would have been the culmination of God’s purpose of creation. The whole world would have become heaven at that time.
Heaven and earth could have become one and children could have united, thus creating the Kingdom of Heaven. All people would have been turned 180 degrees and automatically moved toward heaven, instead of hell. What was left unaccomplished in Adam’s family could have been fulfilled at the end of World War II. After all the indemnity had been paid, Satan would have been expelled from the world.
Humankind has been falsely believing in the Lord coming on the clouds in the form of the resurrected Jesus himself, not as a physical being. To indemnify the failure of people of the Old Testament era to believe in Jesus’ advent, Christians must believe in the Lord of the Second Advent. Christianity is placed in the same position as the chosen people of Jesus’ time, expecting the Lord to come from the clouds. They have to be able to transcend that belief and accept that he will come as a human being. Until the Old Testament is fulfilled, the New Testament cannot be fulfilled. The Completed Testament Age must be preceded by the fulfillment of Christianity. I am going through the same situation as Jesus, 2,000 years ago. Because I did not literally come on the clouds I am persecuted, just as Jesus was.
I must go through this crucifixion and live. Christianity stands in the same position to me that Judaism did toward Jesus. At the Second Advent every level of restoration is represented, from the family, to the nation and the world. Once restoration is accomplished, unity will occur instantaneously, even unification between North and South Korea will happen instantaneously.
Forty years ago the bridegroom was not accepted. This was equivalent to the chosen people rejecting Jesus. Once I was expelled, God literally lost everything. From that point on, everything went into the hands of Kim Il Sung, the worst parent. He represented the second advent of the communist world. He occupied everything. I found myself totally isolated by the satanic world. Tl1ereafter, families were broken up, and ‘ even the nation of Korea was divided.
FORTY YEARS OF STRUGGLE
Because I survived and continued to exist and strive for God, Korea was able to survive. Even though North and South were fighting with one another, Korea would not have continued to exist unless I survived. I endured forty years of incredible fighting and struggle in order to bring all of the lost pieces back into position. Through these forty years, I indemnified 4,000 years of history.
From 1992, when Mother began her work, until 1995 is a period of great worldwide transition. In 1994, Kim 11 Sung died. In addition, 1994 happens to be the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the Unification Church. With Christianity in the position of Cain and the Unification Church in the position of Abel, it took exactly forty years to indemnify the entire lost history. Four thousand years of God’s work was re-indemnified. The Family Pledge symbolizes the complete re-indemnification of the whole lost history.
At the end of forty years the Israelites were marching for-ward with the Ark of the Covenant. Now the Unification Church is moving forward with the Family Pledge. We must construct the heavenly nation or fatherland, because without it there can be no kingdom on this earth. Just as the Israelites claimed their own nation, so also the Unification Church has to establish a country of its own. Which is the country of God? No country can be called that yet. In God’s mind, there are indications that the Korean peninsula might possibly be that nation. It is the only country in the whole world in which North and South are fighting, and where there are two sets of parents, one true and one false. At the end of the fortieth year Kim Il Sung had to leave, as there was no longer a place for him.
After World War II, once the worldwide foundation prepared by God was lost by the failure of Christianity to unite with the Messiah, there was no alternative but to rebuild this foundation. Without this there would be no hope for the Kingdom of God to come on earth. God’s providence is not something vaguely conceptual, but it falls into precise time periods. Since God lost England, America and France, I chose Japan, America and Germany to take their place. Since the restoration takes place always in reverse, the children will be regained first, then the mother.
MY NAME IS RESURRECTED
Adam, or the Lord of the Second Advent, comes as the bridegroom. God is the vertical parent, and Adam is the horizontal parent. Where do these parents connect? If divine and human love become divided, unification can never be accomplished. God’s love and man’s love must begin precisely from the same place, which is the sexual organ. Most people consider that to be the worst place. Before the fall, this was the most holy place. God was meant to dwell in that place, centering upon true love. The foundation of true love is the sexual organ. Satan knows this better than anyone else, and he tries to defile this holy place through free sex. God’s original ideal base has been degraded to the point that it is the extension of hell on earth. Originally, it was meant to become the extension of heaven on the earth.
Free sex, homosexuality and lesbianism are exactly opposite to God’s purpose of creation. As long as this trend continues, America is completely on a false path. AIDS is far worse than the once-dreaded leprosy. Just as lepers were isolated in the past, so those with AIDS have to be isolated.
When I announced this at the Washington Times, I was really boiling, because people do not know which way to go. The Washington Times has been speaking out clearly on this issue, and it is now being listened to. This disease is becoming ram-pant amongst the rich, famous and privileged. The second generation, in particular, is responsible to protect themselves from this phenomenon.
Humanity holds no central concept of family, tribe, nation and world. Such confusion is the sign of the lack of a consistent direction. Satan has complicated God’s original ideal of creation. No person has enough power to restore this original base of the ideal of God’s creation. The Unification Church proclaims
that we have that ideal individual, family, national and world concept. The most pronounced problem in today’s world is that of the family. Every nation of the world is experiencing problems within families. Only the Unification Church is free of family problems, free of AIDS, homosexuality and free sex. The name of Reverend Moon is finally resurrected.
NATIONAL ROLES
Eve, Cain and Abel, who were lost in Adam’s family, were represented on the worldwide level by England, France and America. At Jesus’ time, the providence operated on the national level. If Jesus had been successfully married in the sight of God, he would not have had to die as he did. Israel was in the Cain position. and Judaism was in the Abel position in Jesus’ time. Had everything come into unity within the family itself, it would have resulted in the successful conclusion to God’s providence. If Mary had done well, Jesus would not have had to die as he did. That, of course, is another problem. Unity in the family opens the way for worldwide unity.
Now Japan, America and Germany represent the family. As you can see, ironically both Japan and Germany were originally members of the Axis powers and the satanic world. Because they were prepared, God selected them and fostered them. Since America represented both the Jewish and Christian worlds, it was selected again. The nations of the original trinity were allies. In the second trinity, Korea and Japan, Germany and America, and America and Japan have all been enemy nations. As they unite, we are rediscovering the lost America.
This new trinity of countries must now climb to the level of the original trinity of countries. All of these nations have been enemies to me, because none of them embraced me as they should have in the sight of God. America betrayed me, because Christianity did not embrace me. Leading all of these conflicting countries, I have come to save America. After forty years, the Unification Church has won a mammoth victory. At the end of the forty years, America won a gigantic victory of its own, with the victory of the Republicans. [Yeah! Applause.] Everyone recognizes that Reverend Moon and the Washington Times were the instrumental force in achieving this. Together with the victory of Abel, the victory of Cain also came about. As the Unification Church wins in the position of Abel, America also wins, in the position of Cain, as the representative of the free world. From now on, Americans must listen to me and follow me. Can you do this? [Yes.] Americans did not know what they should do. The mission of the Unification Church is to help the American people and the leaders of this nation understand, so America can survive.
MOTHER’S ROLE
How can the world be brought into unity? Because of the fall, mind and body became divided. From the mother, Eve, came the division between mind and body and between Cain and Abel. The religions of the world are comparable to the mind, while the political realm represents the body. These two worlds are fighting one another, along the pattern of mind and body. They can be unified only through God’s true love and a connection to the heavenly blood lineage. The Inter-Religious Federation for World Peace and the Federation for World Peace were created representing the mind and body. In Abel’s position on the worldwide level is the democratic world. In Cain’s position is the atheistic world. The role of the mother here is to unite both the religious realm and the political realm, which have positions equivalent to mind and body.
Mother represents the Women’s Federation for World Peace, which has expanded to 160 nations. Each of these eight stages is a partial entity of Mother. Within the Unification Church, 160 families are comparable to 160 nations of the world today, resulting from these forty years of re-indemnification. Such families, representing each nation, must elevate themselves through these stages back to the worldwide level. As they become grafted into True Parents, they can inherit the blessing on the worldwide level. Unless you do this, you cannot register as citizens of the heavenly country. In other words, you cannot belong to heaven.
As Mother goes through these eight stages, each stage will become a part of her. Mother then has to give each one rebirth. Each person must establish the condition that they have, indeed, lived centered upon True Parents.
The 6,000 years of providential history is divided into three periods. Two thousand years of vertical time must be indemnified horizontally. Time flows vertically, but it can be re-indemnified on a horizontal level. The first Adam, the second Adam Jesus), and the third Adam (Lord of the Second Advent) are all brothers in God’s eyes. God considers them to be contemporaries, brothers of the same generation.
When these three brothers are all successful, then the whole vertical history will revive. Amazing! All people in between and around these three Adams are in a parent-child relationship with them. Once I gain the victory, the same success will flow automatically to the children. The children can automatically inherit whatever belongs to the parents. All that is needed is for one individual to sign and everyone in that realm can automatically enter the Kingdom of Heaven. This means that all generations since the time of Adam can now resurrect and accomplish the work of resurrection. Now they can all come and instantaneously help the situation here on earth. When earth gains victory, they will gain victory all at the same time. The spiritual realm is the archangelic realm. The archangel was supposed to help Adam reach perfection. The original work creation was achieved with the help of the archangel. Therefore, the spiritual realm has the condition to assist in the re-creation at this time.
THE BASIS OF UNITY
According to this principle, all you need to do is to participate in one marriage ceremony to be restored back to heaven. The initial wrong marriage was the cause of all misery. To repair the damage, it is necessary to go through the right marriage ceremony.
As a result of the fall, all marriages have been false marriages. The remedy is to be blessed by True Parents. Each couple represents thousands of generations of ancestors, and with their blessing thousands of generations can be restored at the same time. If 10,000 couples are blessed, each of them representing thousands of generations of ancestors, tribal messiah work will bear fruit instantaneously. What a staggering amount of work you would need to invest to make this happen without the blessing! I already have proclaimed this throughout the world. The spiritual world has understood this.
The Collegiate Association for Research of the Principle and the Youth Federation for World Peace represent Cain and Abel. Mother works directly with Cain and Abel, her children, to embrace the whole world. Each mother must work through her Cain and Abel. When all the individual work is accomplished, each family will be connected in order. You need a clear concept of how the world will be meticulously interwoven so that all people can be brought back into one. The Unification Church will work on the world-wide level, centering upon the United Nations. That whole world will be embraced by Mother.
High school students and college students will all be brought into oneness and become a part of Mother, by engrafting into the victory that she has won and inheriting it as her children. Mother is bringing the second generation Cain and Abel into unity, forming a basis for the unified world.
Heaven represents the positive or subject realm, and earth represents the object or minus realm. Father and Mother also represent plus and minus. Heaven and earth unite and become plus, and Father and Mother become minus. This unity of plus and minus becomes the basis of the unified world.
THE RESPONSIBILITY OF WOMEN
Centering on Mother, all of you are in an object position, and through you Mother embraces the whole world. All mothers should connect vertically with the Youth Federation for World Peace.
The responsibility of women is very great. This is the time of women. The main work of the Lord of the Second Advent is to pave the road for True Mother to tread. Forty years ago this work could have been accomplished in such a short time. However, since God lost everything at that time, there is no country today. Centering upon Christianity, countries must be restored. Through the United Nations, the nations in the Cain position and the nations in the Abel position must be brought into unity. We must all work to bring this about. Since Mother had no clear idea of this, I paved the road for her to walk. Until 1992, Mother followed me absolutely and without question, otherwise the unified world could not be created. In 1992, the liberation of womanhood was proclaimed, centered upon Mother. For the first time in history Mother stood on my level horizontally. That means that all the women of the world can be liberated.
Mother represents the whole of the woman’s world. Once women inherit Mother’s victory, they are ready to come to their husband, the bridegroom. Until now, women did not have this qualification. You may not understand this completely clearly; that is all right. Compared to other things it is not so important. When I have more time, I will explain this- to you more clearly. Once you follow True Parents absolutely, you do not have to know everything!
The source of the problem within Adam’s family was disbelief and broken love. Adam’s family failed to make a connection with God’s true love. In order to restore this lack of confidence, we need absolute faith. Instead of this discord of love, we need absolute heartistic unity. The fall took place because the children did not understand the agony of their Parent. Because of this, children became indifferent. In order to indemnify the lack of faith and love in Adam’s family, all of us must seek to know what goes on in Mother’s mind, what kind of difficulties, what kind of agony she has to face to reach out to you and the rest of the world. That is the commandment which I have required of Mother as well. Mother has to pay attention to everything I do. Likewise, you must have an absolute experience of what Father and Mother are going through. You must become as one body with your Parents. The children’s commandment is to believe absolutely in what the Parents are doing and to experience their Parents’ heart. This applies to all family relationships, including True Children. Whoever does not agree with Father and Mother has no place here.
United with their Parents, the children must work to bring about the unification of the nation, and indeed the emergence of the nation itself. Upon this national foundation, the second generation can be blessed. Only when the nation emerges can True Parents pass the inheritance to the children. The second generation has to understand this point very clearly. The second generation is not simply free to do whatever they wish after inheriting the victorious foundation from the first generation and Parents. After reaching Canaan, the second generation should be burning with the desire to establish God’s own nation. The second generation must clearly understand this; otherwise they will be without direction.
TRADITION COMES THROUGH TRUE PARENTS
After entering Canaan, mothers and children did not completely unite. Mothers worked hard to provide for their children, but they did not have time enough to educate them correctly.
I am now asking all children to come into complete unity with Mother, at all levels. All satanic forces, visible and invisible, work to create division between the True Children and Mother. That is what Satan does all the time. This is not my advice as an individual; this is the Principle tradition. This tradition can-not be altered. You must understand that there is no such thing as a new tradition, unless God commands that new tradition through True Parents. Tradition does not flow directly from God to True Children.
All True Children and the rest of the world must follow in the wake of True Parents. The president of the United States, as well as any president of any country, must tread this universal path. This is the formula.
First of all, you must come into complete unity. Without uniting your mind and body, you cannot create a building block for the Kingdom of Heaven. Men and women have to first complete the unification of their mind and body. Heaven cannot spring up automatically, even after all the work which I have accomplished. I am not suddenly making this announcement. I began my dispensation with this concept. This is the sermon I gave twenty years ago. What I spoke twenty years ago and what I am speaking this morning is exactly the same: tradition never changes or evolves.
FOLLOW TRUE PARENTS’ PATH
In Korea and now in America also, I am commanding that there be a standard way of giving a lecture and sermon. The standard way of giving a lecture will be introduced later in more detail; it involves reading from the black book, which will be color-coded. Such lectures are also very persuasive, because you do not introduce your own ideas. No matter how great the person who stands up to give a sermon, it is not good enough at this urgent time. I have spoken on various topics for over forty years. All future sermons will consist of reading such sermons.
The formulas and blueprints exist for conducting your family life and guiding your activity. My sermons have been consistent throughout these forty years. The Israelites had to follow Jacob’s course. In returning to Canaan, they had to follow Moses’ path. All of Christianity must follow Jesus’ path. By the same token, all Unificationists must precisely follow True Parents’ course, otherwise there will be confusion. Here in the Unification Church, you must pay utmost attention to what Father has done for you. Do you understand? (Yes.) It is a formula for which there is no substitution. The formula is the
formula. Just as Mother followed me absolutely, all the women of the world must follow Mother at this time. Children do not follow their elder brother or their younger sister, but rather their parents. The key is to follow with all of your might and never separate from the path of True Parents.
When the nation is built, then the blessing of inheritance will take place. Heaven will be inherited. From the family to the national level, you must follow in my wake. For the sake of the unification of North and South Korea, we all must sacrifice.
Please do not be confused by complicated thinking. In forty years I have re-indemnified 4,000 years of complicated history. I had to be truly precise in this. Likewise, you have to be precise in your thinking about how to follow True Parents’ path. How can we achieve this gigantic work without being able to control our own family? Should Mother fail in her role, it would bring a lot of confusion to the rest of the world. In the same way, if we fail it brings about confusion within all families. Adam and Eve’s failure to fulfill their role was so serious that God expelled them from the Garden of Eden. You must understand what I have in mind and take my commands as strict orders.
You have to follow True Parents’ path with great seriousness. Twenty years ago, I clearly told you what America needed to fulfill. I have accomplished all that I spoke about twenty years ago. Now I am going to call upon Dr. Tyler Hendricks to read that same sermon to us now. True Children have the responsibility of making sure that the world is saved. True Children are in Abel’s position and you are in Cain’s position. After you make unity, then the world can be unified.
I will now listen, along with all of you, to the speech that Dr. Hendricks will read. This is a prototype for a Sunday sermon.

UNITE WITH MOTHER
Mother is the center of all of our activities and you must follow her and cling to her efforts to save humankind by the year 2000. Especially after the successful education of 160,000 Japanese women, Mother has the unswerving foundation to be recognized throughout the world.
Please bear in mind that this is Mother’s time, and the countries of Japan, Germany and America will emulate her. Now I expect Mother to focus on the unification of the youth of North and South Korea. I am encouraging her to work wholeheartedly for that purpose. I extend all the privileges to Mother. In my absence, Mother will take all my power and concretely carry out this mission. That means that, whenever I am not here, Mother is equivalent to me. Wherever True Parents go, Mother will work on solidifying family units; not only her family, but yours as well.
This is the beginning of a new era, and we must prepare ourselves mentally. Pray to keep your mind focused on Mother. Once I occupied all of your attention, but now you must focus on Mother as well as me. Until now all of your love went to me, but now you have to place her in your hearts at the same level. American women especially must give your wholehearted support and even your lives for Mother. We are proclaiming to the world that while I am first in the Unification Church, Mother is most definitely not second officially. Bear that in mind. (Applause.)
[Mother comes up to speak:] Thank you for your support. Just as Father has explained the True Children and you are in a Cain-Abel relationship. Therefore, I expect you to unite with each other completely and follow me. We will all then accomplish the task which is expected by history and by heaven.
[Father continues speaking:] Centering upon Mother, you as Cain and True Children as Abel need to unite. Once you are united with each other and with Mother, you have the qualification to step forward to me and to God. It is imperative that you become united first before you expect to be united with me and with God. Restoration means returning to the original point. You have to have a clear concept to put it into action. Unless your mind is clear, your action cannot be clear.
The children of each family must come into complete unity with their mother before they can return to God. Husbands are in the position of archangel. Therefore, by them becoming one with mother-centered unity, then they too can return to Father. The mother of each family, together with children, must step forward to True Father and become one; then they will be ready to save their husbands. Restoration happens in that order, because the position of all husbands is that of archangel. The archangel must serve the woman, who represents God’s queen. The children of the queen are princes and princesses and children of God. Do you understand? Therefore, through serving them, you husbands also will become one with God. I can then give the blessing. Mother has the grand task of bringing the Cain and Abel children of the world together before stepping forward toward Father.
This correct thinking needs to be firmly rooted in your minds before worldwide activity can be launched. All women are part of Mother. On all eight stages from the individual level to God’s level, women and Mother can become one. I am announcing and proclaiming that, centering upon Mother, you should come forward and become one.
