Father’s Speech on February 15, 1994 at World Mission Center, New York,
THE topic of this morning’s sermon is: Cham Bumowa Clzangjo isang Ka jong: “True Parents and the Ideal Family of Creation.” People talk about the will of God, but do they really know what that means? What is the definition of God’s will? Professors and theologians offer all kinds of answers. It sounds like a very easy question, but it is not.
Unificationists know clearly that the will of God is to fulfill the ideal of creation; which is the four position foundation. The four position foundation is, simply, the ideal family, beginning with True Parents, then True Children and future generations. Without True Parents as the core, there is no ideal family.
Are we living in a perfect society? [No.] There is no true peace in this world of struggling and fighting. In the face of struggle and fighting, Cod cannot be at peace, and good cannot be accomplished. Satan always comes out the winner in the world of conflict.
THE ROOT OF SIN
Satan seeks to create enmity between men and women. Fighting and struggle began with the human fall. Adam and Eve were supposed to exist in peace, but when Satan entered and separated them, they began to struggle.
The Bible says that man fell by eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. What is the root of sin? Before you can be healed of a disease, you have to get down to its root cause. After the fallen act, Adam and Eve hid the lower parts of their bodies. It is human nature to hide your mouth when you do something wrong with it. When you steal from the cookie jar, you hide your hand. However, instead of hiding their mouths or ears or eyes or hands, Adam and Eve hid the lower parts of their bodies. Previously, they were naked and unashamed. All of a sudden, they felt shame. It is apparent that the sin committed by Adam and Eve had something to do with the lower part of the body; that it involved illicit love.
If humankind was born out of illicit love, we could refer to “illicit humankind.” Unfortunately, we come to the naked truth that we are not the fruit of good and lawful love.
I see great ministers in front of me. Were Adam and Eve chased out of the Garden of Eden or did they walk out voluntarily? [Chased out.] God kicked them out. After being kicked out, did they have children? [Yes.] There were only two people in the Garden of Eden. Outside the Garden of Eden, they continued engaging in illicit love and bore children. From them, humanity has flourished.
Do you think God followed them and said, “Now, Adam and Eve, even though you are fallen, I am going to officiate at your marriage”? If you were God, you would say, “You rascals!” Satan committed adultery with God’s child. Once Adam and Eve became victims of Satan, servants of Satan, God could not invite them back and bless them. We come to the logical conclusion, therefore, that humankind, from the very first ancestors, have been married under the auspices of Satan. This is the root of the problem.
Has God ever told any descendant of Adam and Eve, “I’ll make an exception for you and give you the blessing”? [No.] Absolutely not. God’s ideal of creation is to create an ideal family, which requires God’s blessing in marriage. The beginning point of God’s work is the installation of True Parents as the foundation for the ideal family.
THE STRUGGLE BETWEEN MIND AND
For True Parents to exist, a true man and true woman must come together. Don Sills, I know you are a very reputable minister. Can people become True Parents without being completely perfected as men and women? Are you ministers true men? [Yes.] N-N0-0-0! Your mind and body are fighting now, isn’t that true? You cannot deny this reality. When there is fighting and struggle, there is no room for God to dwell in peace. If your mind and your body are in conflict, you are a battlefield for Satan.
Is there contradiction within God? [No.] What about in each of you? No one has resolved this fundamental question until now. The struggles between mind and body started with the false parents, Adam and Eve, and have been passed down all the way to you. False parents are the cause of your internal struggles, and these struggles will continue until you separate from false parenthood and return to the True Parents.
Do such struggles lead you closer to the Kingdom of Heaven? This world is full of struggle. In the United States do various levels of society completely help each other? There are black ministers and white ministers here. If you struggle over racial differences, are you good ministers?
You may be thinking, “I came to celebrate Rev. Moon’s birth day, but the first thing I got was a big thump.” I am trying to be absolutely honest with you. This world has come to its limit. We have got to look for the root cause. The true root is the true man and true woman. A true person is completely united in mind and body, free from internal contradiction. God dwells within such a person.
We have two eyes, but they work together as one. We have two nostrils, which cooperate to inhale and exhale. Our two ears function harmoniously. The world itself is not in trouble. Men and women have gone wrong. When the man-woman problem is resolved, the world’s problems will be simple to resolve.
Of the five billion people in the world, everyone falls into one of two categories: man or woman. One man represents the two and a half billion men in the world, and one woman represents the two and a half billion women of the world. Adam and Eve represented all the men and women of posterity. The world lacks true men and true women .
Do not look for the fault in the world outside. The problem is within. If you are struggling internally, how can you urge other people to be at peace? People cry out, “I am free. I can do anything I want.” You can be free and happy only when your mind and body are in equilibrium. Where there is freedom, there is hope, love, harmony and peace.
The mistakes of Adam and Eve have expanded throughout history and filtered down to all humanity today. The same sickness they suffered from in the Garden of Eden, people are suffering from today.
After the fallen act was committed, do you think Adam and Eve experienced harmony within their minds and bodies? Their consciences kept protesting, and their bodies tried in vain to overcome their con-sciences.
If you ministers had been proclaiming this fundamental truth, this country would have changed a long time ago. People try to distance themselves from social problems, but the world’s problems are your problems. You cannot separate yourself, because the problem started from within your heart. You have to do something drastic to separate yourself from the problem. Even a man like St. Paul lamented, “For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind …. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” That lamentation shows the struggle between mind and body.
I am not talking about theory. This is reality. Within our minds and bodies, there is a struggle; we have to know its root cause. Our minds seek to change course and head in the right direction, but our bodies refuse to go. Our consciences are allied with goodness, while our bodies are our fearful enemy. We have to conquer these bodies, castigate them and subjugate them by force.
Do you want a quick fix or a slow fix? Everyone wants a quick remedy. However, the quicker remedy requires a more drastic operation. You might need hundreds of painful shots! When I try to give such shots to Don Sills and others, they just run away! They don’t want to take it.
WORLD PEACE AND INDIVIDUAL PEACE
I want to become a true man; I want my partner to become a true woman. When true man and true woman are united, the world’s problems will be resolved, because everyone will be able to follow the pattern, centering upon true love.
Because of the fall, the human body has become Satan’s dwelling, and Satan’s lineage flows in your bloodstreams. This is why Satan claims ownership. Adam and Eve fell during their teenage years. Today, at the time of harvest, teenagers are in trouble sexually and morally. Free sex is everywhere. You are reaping what has been sown.
We have to do something about it. Good American homes are in trouble because the children are not God-centered. They are going in the wrong direction and the parents cannot prevent it. The problem of America today is that parents are helpless. The family has been Satan’s dwelling place, and we have to expel him. We have to begin housecleaning.
Everyone is talking about world peace, but where does it begin? When you quarrel with your spouse, will the rest of that day be sweet? Even the president of the United States has no peace when his mind and body are struggling. Young people attempt suicide to escape the struggle between mind and body.
Talk about world peace is just so much hot air until you deal with yourself. No one can enter the Kingdom of Heaven in heaven with-out achieving peace between mind and body. When there is perfect harmony between mind and body, God dwells with that person; such people shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven and become God’s princes and princesses. When you are united with God, you become God’s royal family. Have you achieved the harmony between mind and body that qualifies you to become part of God’s royal family?
Adam and Eve were created as the son and daughter of God. They were truly prince and princess. If Adam and Eve had that status, you too will be princes and princesses when you become God’s children. This is what our con-science calls us to become, and we are sup-posed to fulfill the cry of conscience.
At one-time God had great hope for Christianity. Right after World War II, God gave the entire world into the hands of the Christians. God thought that Christianity would make the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. However, in-stead of helping the world, contemporary Christianity is bringing it down. In less than a half century, many churches have become cemeteries. In the face of insurmountable social crin1es, churches have become helpless. This nation elected Bill Clinton president, and his first act was to try to put homosexuals into the armed forces.
When established churches become helpless, they have to be re-educated, renovated and revolutionized. Some churches do not want anything to do with people of another race. In the eyes of God, is there black and white? God is color-blind. If I had been a white man, would I have been so severely persecuted? Race is unquestionably a barrier.
Because of the human fall, the Old Testament came into being. Without the fall, there would have been no Old Testament. The Old Testament era began the process of healing. Christians think the New Testament is the final stage. However, God’s providence does not end with the New Testament. This is very important for ministers to understand. God has promised a time of fulfillment. There must be a Completed Testament.
No encyclopedia or dictionary explains the terms “Completed Testament” or “True Parents.” Therefore, my opponents have to come to me to find out what I am talking about. Once they come, they encounter the truth.
SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL SIGHT
When a two-eyed person lives in a one-eyed society, he is a heretic or monster simply because he has two eyes. Today we are in a one-eyed society. If Adam and Eve had not fallen, people would have both physical and spiritual eyesight. They would have two pairs of eyes, enabling them to see not only physical reality but also spiritual reality. Because humankind lost that faculty at the fall, we are living in a one-eyed world. The greatest problem today is ignorance about the spirit world. I have both spiritual and physical eyes and can see both spiritual and physical reality. One-eyed people call me a heretic when I talk about the spiritual world. I am trying to make you two-eyed people. [Applause.)
With two eyes, you can live harmoniously here and also know the truth about the spirit world. God’s kingdom is to be established both on earth and in heaven. You are supposed to see both kingdoms. These Unificationists may not have both eyes fully developed, but they have at least one and a half eyes!
I must apologize to you ministers for telling you astonishing and probably disturbing things. However, I hope you enjoy it, because you need this kind of truth. Being a minister, you like to be served, but you might not want to serve. However, here we teach sacrificial service.
You need to teach why God created man. You could tell people just to read the Bible and they will go to heaven. However, people who were focused on the Old Testament had Jesus crucified when he came. Therefore, just reading the Bible is not the solution. How you read the Bible is important. Teach people step by step organized, scientific truth. Can people reach heaven by blind faith, reading the Bible and going to church? That will not work anymore. It might set off a firecracker here and there, but you cannot change the universe. You need a spiritual hydro-gen bomb to transform the universe.
In order to become God’s sons and daughters, you need God’s lineage. Do you have it? You received your life, love and lineage from your parents. To be children of God, we have to be connected to God’s love, God’s lineage, and God’s life. Can you feel God’s agony when He is suffering? When God is joyful, do you feel that joy within you? If you do not, how can you say you are the children of God?
You want to become the sons and daughters of God, don’t you? What holds you back is that humankind lost the true life, true love and true lineage that come from God. Through the human fall illicit love, illicit life and illicit lineage came into being. Because of that, people are Satan’s children. We have to be cleansed and grafted into the true lineage of true love.
THE ROLE OF THE CONSCIENCE
In the Garden of Eden, religion did not exist. Only because of the human fall did religion become a necessity. Religion is a method to rectify the wrong. Our minds are on the side of God, but our bodies are on the side of Satan.
Religious doctrine and discipline seek to deny the body and bring it back into obedience to the mind. No good religion is kind to the body. The body does not like to fast or rise early in the morning to pray. Your body says, ‘I want to sleep until 8:00.” Your mind says, “No, you get up at 5:00 and come to the altar and pray.” Religion seeks to subjugate the body to the will of the mind, because the mind is supposed to be plus, or subject, while the body is supposed to be minus, or object. However, because of Satan, the body has become another plus, which needs to be subjugated and turned into a minus. Satan’s love runs through the body, while God’s love runs through the mind. The conscience is on God’s side, quietly warning you, “Do not do that,” while your body says, “Stop saying that. I will do it.”
The process of human development begins with formation and continues through growth and perfection. The growth level is the teenage level. When Adam and Eve reached that level, they yielded to temptation, and illicit love ran through their bodies and made them another plus. For them, the power of love, even illicit love, was stronger than the power of conscience, so love won out. However, if Adam and Eve had passed through the growth period and attained perfection, their conscience would have united with the ultimate, God-centered love, creating an invincible and unalterable power. The power of love, even illicit love, is greater than any other power. That is how illicit love overpowered the conscience during the growth period.
People are affected by many urges. When you are next to a beautiful woman, your conscience tells you not to touch her, but your body keeps wanting to embrace her. Because the power of love is many times greater than the power of conscience, a temporary danger exists. However, once men and women grow into perfection, united into God-centered true love, no power under the sun can destroy their unity. Can a man of true love be a womanizer? His mind would be in total control and not give the body that license. When you have disciplined yourself so that your conscience overcomes all the temptations, including illicit love, you will receive your ticket to heaven.
You may not have known this, but someday you will go to the spirit world. I hope you live long lives, but still you will go to the spirit world some day! Then you will know that what I said today, February 15, 1994, was absolutely correct. I can speak to you without fear, because you will realize the truth eventually. When that time comes will you regret not acting on my words? Do something about it now, so that you will eventually be able to exclaim, “See what happened when I followed Rev. Moon’s teaching!” [Amen.]
Did True Parents exist in the past? [No.] Will True Parents reap-pear in the future? [No.] There is only one appearance of True Parents. If you are a scholar, you need True Parents. If you are a professor, you need True Parents. If you are a minister, you need True Parents. Politicians need True Parents. Everyone needs True Parents. Your name is listed as someone who wants to be a member of True Parents’ family. Does that make you happy?
JOHN THE BAPTIST’S FAILURE
Jesus’ disciples were fishermen, carpenters and even prostitutes. Do you think that God wanted His only begotten son to be surrounded by prostitutes and fishermen, or did He want men like John the Baptist and Zachariah to become Jesus’ chief followers? When He sent His only begotten son, He wanted him surrounded by the very best cabinet ministers, men like John the Baptist. Isn’t that logical?
You ministers, how have you been interpreting Jesus statement: “Among those born of woman, there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he”? Even the least ones who followed Jesus are greater than John the Baptist, who testified to Jesus as the son of God but then betrayed him. John was the least important in the Kingdom of Heaven because he chased the wrong thing. Even the least in the Kingdom of Heaven knows that Jesus is the son of God. John the Baptist, who was supposed to be the greatest man, betrayed not only Jesus, but also God.
In Matthew Chapter 11, we read that John the Baptist was beheaded by King Herod because he was involved in King Herod’s love scandal. John had much greater things to do. When he did not fulfill his original mission, he died for a meager cause. God wanted people, like you leaders of society, to listen to me and proclaim the teaching that will change the world.
GOD’S LOVE PARTNER
Do you want to become united in mind and body, welcome God, and enjoy a peaceful life? [Yes.] What will make you undergo such a change? True love.
Do you want a love partner who is greater than you or inferior to you? [Better.] That desire comes from your ancestors and their ancestors, all the way up to God.
The ultimate question is whether God wanted His beloved to be better than Himself. Do you think God needs love, or is He so almighty that He does not need love? [God needs love.] Who is God’s partner of love? Starting from the simplest things and culminating in human beings, God’s purpose in creation was to create His partner of love.
Is the monkey the supreme partner for God’s love? [No.] The theory of evolution said the monkey evolved into man. Through millions of cycles of creation, from amoebas to monkeys to human beings, newer and ever more sophisticated creations emerged. Into each higher creature, new creative energy was invested, culminating in human beings.
All creation passes through the labyrinth of love and enters the love gate. Can an insect automatically become a bird and then a mammal? [No.] Externally, Darwin’s theory of evolution seems to operate, but creative energy is invested each time something goes through the love gate. It is a law of the universe that creative energy must be added in order to produce something better.
Darwin’s theory of evolution does not recognize that everything is the product of God’s love and that everything is based on the pair system. Even in the mineral kingdom, there are plus ions and minus ions; there are male and female components of flowers; there are pairs of animals. Things clearly exist as male or female, plus or minus.
Which came first: the amoeba or the creative concept? The concept came first. If a man married a monkey and they lived together for a hundred years, could they give birth to an Albert Einstein? Could a genius come out of monkey parents? No. Communism, based on Darwin’s theory, declined because it propagated lies, and God will not let lies prosper. The truth shall prevail. [Amen.] Amen.
THE GIVING NATURE OF LOVE
Just as you want a partner who is greater, wiser, prettier and more accomplished than you, God also has been looking for something greater than Himself. God invested a thousand percent in the task of creation and, forgetting what He gave, poured out another hundred percent. This entire universe was born through such a process. Satan has been trying to destroy God’s creation, but God keeps giving. Satan cannot follow such an example of sacrificial giving, because his basic nature is selfishness.
The central principle is to give and then forget that you gave. True love invests every last ounce of energy, even to the point of giving one’s life. If you love your wife with that commitment, you are a true husband. If you are a true husband, you can give your life to save your wife, and then resurrect and give yet another life for her. The true husband or true wife is one who gives love and life three times or more for the sake of his or her beloved.
God created Adam and Eve in order to give life to the world. God gave Jesus Christ to become a True Parent. Because Jesus was crucified, the Third Adam is needed. God has given His life again, again and again, in order to complete the salvation of mankind. The Bible says that those who seek to save their lives will lose them, and those who lose their lives for Jesus’ sake will find them. Unless you give your life, no new life will arise. There is no greater love than to lay down your life for the sake of your friends. The standard of God’s love is higher than that of Satan’s realm. Only when we transcend the criteria of the satanic realm can we subjugate Satan.
When I began my ministry, my parents, brothers and sisters opposed me. My country and even the world opposed me. All the satanic world tried to squash the appearance of True Parents. In the Cold War era, I was opposed both by communists, because I was fighting their godless ideology, and by the democratic world, the supposedly God-loving, Christian realm. However, I kept proclaiming the truth, and many American ministers came to realize the need for a new prophet and new truth that will save this nation. [Applause.] I am indeed equipped and qualified to be True Parents. False parents can be liberated only by the appearance of True Parents.
I became involved with former Presidents Nixon and Carter during their administrations because the United States cannot afford weak leaders that will surrender to communism. This is a Christian nation, and it will ultimately revive, because God loves America. Christianity cannot be completely destroyed because God worked with Christianity for 2,000 years and wants it to succeed in the end.
You HAVE TO TAKE ME SERIOUSLY
I initiated The Washington Times, and over the past twelve years I invested over a billion dollars in it. It is crazy, in a way. However, many ministers are praising me because of The Washington Times and are supporting my efforts to cut through the immorality of this country, especially in the government. The money invested was well worth it.
Have you joined me in this crusade? You are very supportive with your amens, but it is time to get down to serious work. We must take our lives seriously. This meeting is not coincidental. Your children and grandchildren will know about it. According to how you act upon what you hear, you will be either praised or cursed.
Two hundred fifty volumes of my sermons have already been published. Each volume includes the kind of revolutionary message you are hearing today. Because of my teachings, I will never die; my spirit will continue on. You shall reckon with my teaching, one way or another, but it is better to do it now rather than later.
This is a rainbow congregation. I see black hair, blue eyes, white cheeks and black cheeks. Out of such people will arise God’s race, a multitudinous rainbow race. You may have many thousands in your congregation, but you will not find people like those here. When God looks down to evaluate the situation, where will He want to dwell? Which congregation will God want to sing with?
I want you to know that God created human beings as the supreme creation and His partner of love. God planted a conscience in each one of us, as His agent. The conscience knows God’s will and God’s desire. It directs us to seek God’s most precious possession, which is His love. The human being is an incredibly ambitious creature. We are not satisfied with normal things. Even if we gain the world, we continue our quest for the love of God. We long to dwell in God’s bosom and be intoxicated with His love; only then are we satisfied. I am so happy because I occupy the universe and God. I am so-so-so hap-hap-hap-py-py-py. This is the purpose of human life.
DISCIPLINE YOUR BODY
Our challenge is to strengthen our consciences. First of all, we must know that the human fall has made each of us a battle-ground between Satan and God. From the Garden of Eden until now, that battle has been raging in people’s bloodstreams. The blood of liars, murders and fornicators is running through you. You almost want to slash your veins and try to drain out the satanic blood. Your body has been a disciple of Satan, running 180 degrees opposite of what your conscience wanted.
Our five sense organs have certain habits. There are particular foods you like to eat, music you like to listen to, scenes you like to look at, things you like to smell, etc. We are habitually seasoned.
Fallen habits are terribly difficult to break, but we have to win the battle. You escape by planting new traditions and entering upon a new way of life. Get busy doing new things.
You must liberate your consciences and eliminate the agony of the fall’s effects upon your physical bodies. When your body says it is hungry, go on a fast. If you are sleepy, keep your eyes open. Go the opposite way of your physical desires. If you want to listen to some special music, choose God’s music. If you want to wear a nice suit, give it to the needy and wear rags instead. In other words, go against your body’s urges.
The mind and body are in a sea of deadly battle. Just to sit in a comfortable chair and think, I am winning the battle between mind and body, will not work.
I am a living standard. I was jailed six times. The most incredible torments were inflicted upon me. People virtually killed me so many times. The blood drained out of my body, and I was thrown into the snow and left to freeze to death. In spite of all kinds of incredible situations, I never gave up. [Applause.)
God exists for the sake of others. This altruism is the true source of love and creative power. It motivated God to create something better than Himself. God lives for the sake of humanity, and He tells us to live for others. The spirit world is based on this principle, so without undergoing this kind of training on earth, you will not be able to move in the spirit world. When you live for others, you will be welcomed wherever you go.
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
I came to America to give myself for the United States. The government used to consider me dangerous, and wanted to deport me. Since Danbury, however, the situation changed. Now the government recognizes that they need me. [Applause.]
When you live for others, you become a central person in your community. Great American patriots, such as George Washing-ton, were loved and respected because they lived for the country. That same principle continues today. However, I do not live just for one nation. Beyond the boundaries of nation and race, I live for the sake of all humanity.
I want to devote my whole life for the will of God. I want to give God’s love to human-kind. Therefore, incredible persecution came to me. Nevertheless, wherever I go God opens up the way, creating miraculous successes. My goal is to live as God lives. I want to imitate God. I do not care if all five billion people oppose me. As long as God loves me and is on my side, I fear nothing.
When I went to Danbury, everyone thought I was finished. However, I went there with hope, because I could see beyond prison and know that God loves me. Even if I had sought a place to hide, God would not have let me. Wherever I go, God is there ahead of me, preparing a rosy path. Miraculous things always happen.
Like God who gives and forgets what He gave, I forget my adversaries and keep giving more. I forget America’s iniquity, I forget American persecution. I forgave the American people a long time ago. I love them and keep giving a hundred percent more. God has promised that my path will always prosper. God opens up new ways, new challenges and new successes.
The central person always takes responsibility. Anyone who takes up the responsibility for this nation and world has to be a man of God. I go to jail and my people go to jail because I take responsibility. When problems arise anywhere in the world, the buck stops here. However, behind me is God, and I always thank God. Knowing that God protects and guarantees the prosperity of those who take responsibility, I push my followers to follow my example.
We ministers became very good friends through the Danbury ordeal. Don Sills and many other incredible ministers joined our fight. Danbury truly wrought a miracle in my ministry in the United States, thanks to God and thanks to you. Will you ministers continue working with me and become evangelists to 120 different countries? Mother proclaimed the truth in forty different countries, non-stop. If one woman can go to forty countries, what about men like you? You can go to 120 different countries, no sweat!
When you are living with God and God is living within you, you have a responsibility; God, in turn, will protect you and bring prosperity. I have never received one penny in salary for myself. Because I am the center, the originator, I have nothing. I am like the eye of a hurricane. I want to be responsible for America, give the blessing to America and enable America to be prosperous. When you are living for the sake of America, how can you be destroyed? I am living proof that when you live by God’s principle, you will not perish.
Do you want people to live for you, or do you want to live for others? Satan likes individualism. This country has become even more individualistic since I came here. America’s individualism shows in its national policy, with leaders saying they do not care about the world. Americans ignore their country, their communities, their homes, their parents, their wives and their children. They just focus on themselves. This country cannot prosper with such an attitude. Satan does not engage in a partnership. You are either Satan’s master or Satan’s victim.
Have you ministers been living for the sake of your flock or do you expect your church members to live for you? Do you seek the church which pays the biggest salary and gives you the biggest automobile or will you devote yourself to stirring up life in a poor, suffering church? [A little church.] Your answer sounds very good.
GROW THROUGH PARENTING
Before there can be True Parents, a true couple is needed. Before there can be a true couple, true brothers and sisters are needed. Before there can be true brothers and sisters, true children are needed. Children want to be the offspring of good parents and be loved by those parents. Then they grow as brothers and sisters, as a couple, and ultimately as parents.
Our hearts desire good children, good sons and daughters, good brothers and sisters, good sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. God has the same desires. Just as we resemble our parents, we resemble God, our heavenly Parent. Human desire is to fulfill these longings through our family, through relationships with good children, good brothers and sisters, a good spouse and good parents.
Through our children, we are reminded of our childhood. When you watch your boy play, you think of times when you were a boy and did similar things. The husband can tell his wife, “Look at that girl; she is being a bit nasty. You must have been nasty, weren’t you?” These are opportunities for incredible fun together as husband and wife. Through your children, you go through life a second time. When they begin to think about boyfriends, you have to guide them so they will not make mistakes. Since you have a loving wife, you want your children to meet a wonderful spouse.
Human life is organized in ever-expanding levels, from families to clans, tribes, nations, world and cos-mos. However, the center of each level is the same. You want your children to grow and prosper, expanding all over the world.
God wanted to experience childhood, brotherhood, “couplehood” and parenthood along with humankind. God is invisible, but that does not mean that He is non-existent. He is invisible because He is eternal and permanent; yet He also experiences childhood, brotherhood, “couplehood” and parent-hood. As God looked at Adam and Eve, He was looking at His own image. As Adam and Eve matured, growing through childhood, adolescence, and couplehood, and had children of their own, God wanted to enjoy the full range of love experiences along with them.
THE NEED FOR A SUBSTANTIAL OBJECT
God created in order to fulfill love. Why does God need substantial objects? Listen carefully. When you stretch out your arm and bring your finger closer and closer to your eyes, at some point you cease to see it. Once you become one with something, you do not see it. Can you see your mind? Can you touch your mind? How do you know you have a mind? You feel it. Have you seen love? Have you touched love? No. You understand love through feeling. In a similar way, have you seen God? Can you touch God? When there is complete oneness, we cannot touch, feel or see something. It becomes part of us. Our senses communicate to us about an object that is apart from us. However, when the object becomes one with us, we do not see it.
God needs entities that are separate from Him, so He can experience His exact reflection and receive sensation from it. When your substantial object appears, you can fully react to it in joy, happiness and love. When you count your pulse, it is like a drum beat: boom, boom, boom. Yet you generally do not even realize your heart is beating. You blink your eyes tens of thousands of times every day, but are you aware of it? Your eyes are active every waking moment, but you do not realize it because they are totally part of you. Can you draw your face accurately, without looking at your picture? No, because it is so completely one with you that you do not feel it.
You have a conscience, but you do not feel it. Likewise, you have God within you, but you do not feel Him until your substantial partner shows up in front of you. The sensation of love does not come when you are alone. When you are with your wife, you have the sensation of love, because you have a substantial partner. Without stimulation, you have no power of life. God is power, love and wisdom. Within God is everything. However, until God has a substantial partner with whom He can have give and take, He does not have the sensation of love, joy and happiness. This is why God needs the creation. God created man because God needs a partner.
As long as God is alone, the experiences of childhood, brotherhood, couplehood and parenthood cannot be activated within Him. God created people to grow as children, brothers and sisters, couples and parents so He could be one hundred per-cent stimulated.
Every aspect of human life exists within God: children, brothers and sisters, husband and wife, and parents. However, He can only feel these relationships through physical beings. God created Adam and Eve in His image, as His physical being. He had them begin as children, grow as brother and sister, and go on to “couplehood” and parenthood. They represented God as children and as brother and sister. They were to represent God as a couple and as parents.
Are children’s love, sibling love, conjugal love and parental love all consummated at one time? No. The man grows to a certain point and the woman grows to a certain point, and then they come together in the center, the point of fulfillment where God dwells with them. This is the time of marriage, the fulfillment of the entire creation. Through marriage, plus and minus become one, internal and external become one. On the wedding night, when husband and wife unite in complete love, physically and spiritually, the purpose of creation is fulfilled.
The first realm of love is the parental love reflected in the children. The other realms are sibling love, conjugal love and parental love. Through these realms, God wants to feel sensational joy. This is the fulfillment of creation. All human life moves toward this culminating point.
THE CONSUMMATION OF LOVE
God’s ultimate blessing to men and women is the gift of sexual organs. When husband and wife come together in true love, God wants to feel ecstatic joy. The true love palace is the beginning point of true happiness. That is how men and women are to experience true happiness. Before the fall, the sexual organ was to be the palace of love, life and lineage. Through sexual intercourse centering on love, the love power of man and woman mingle. Through sexual intercourse, not only are men and women consummated, but also God is consummated, because His purpose of creation is fulfilled. God’s invisible image is completed upon this point.
The wedding day of Adam and Eve was to be the day of God’s fulfillment. They were to share the same joy. However, this did not take place with the original Adam and Eve.
When Adam and Eve fulfill true love, God experiences true love. When Adam and Eve become the parents of humankind, God becomes the vertical parents and they become the horizontal parents. God is the vertical parents. Perfected Adam and Eve are the horizontal parents. Thus we have two sets of parents: vertical parents (God) and horizontal parents (Adam and Eve or True Parents).
In another sense, your conscience represents the vertical God, and True Parents represent the horizontal God. When you receive the blood lineage from the vertical God and the horizontal God, you shall be known as children of God, true sons and daughters of God. Remind yourself: “I am a child of God, I am in the image of God and the image of True Parents.”
With such an awareness, your mind and body will not fight. Men and women will not fight. The spirit world and physical world will become one unified realm of peace, happiness and joy. This is what we must restore. This is the life God envisioned in every man and woman here on earth. When you finish your earthly life, you will end up in the Kingdom of Heaven in heaven.
Man is the supreme creation, created for the sake of the physical world and spirit world. There should be complete communication, back and forth, between the two worlds. Therefore, human beings are the central figures not only here on earth; but also in heaven. Man is supreme. Human beings are the image of God, like living gods here on earth and, afterwards, in heaven. There is no death. You are the princes and princesses of the physical world and the spirit world. You can fit anywhere, in the physical world and the spirit world. You have complete freedom and will be welcomed wherever you go.
However, do not forget that all these conditions have to be fulfilled here on earth. Once you leave the earth plane, when your physical life has been terminated, you have no more chance. Your life here on earth is so precious. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Here on earth is the golden opportunity. The Kingdom of Heaven in heaven shall be the dwelling place of God’s princes and princesses who have completely inherited true love, true life and true lineage from God and True Parents. Amen. We are celebrating the day of the Messiah’s return as the True Parents to begin the True Family of man here on earth, and reorganize humankind. For you ministers, the simple conclusion is that since you were married under false parents, you must be married again under True Parents. The new heavenly registration must begin. Your name must be entered into the Book of Life. Until you reach that point, you have no time even to sleep. Therefore, stay wide awake! God bless you! God bless you!
