Father’s Main Speech on God’s Day January 1, 1994, In Seoul, Korea. Father spoke five times during the celebration of God’s Day in Korea. The midnight speech was five hours long and contains the same basic content as the other four speeches.
THE motto for this year is “The Safe Settlement of True Parents and the Completed Testament Age.” Safe settlement means the position at which everything is fulfilled and takes its proper place.
We know that, because of the fall, we as individuals, families, tribes, nations, the world and the entire cosmos have failed to become perfect. This means that all of the efforts God, the Creator, has made to make the ideal a reality have ended in failure. However, God could not stand in the position of failure. There-fore, He has been unfolding the providence of salvation to bring us back to the original point through the course of re-creation and restoration through indemnity.
If the first human ancestors had not fallen, religion and the providence of salvation would not have been necessary. The course of religion in human life has been a meandering and paradoxical one, for Satan always retained first claim on all earthly authority.
If the first ancestors had accomplished their five percent portion of responsibility and gone through the stages of formation, growth and perfection to reach God’s direct dominion, God’s will would have been fulfilled. As true parents bearing God’s lineage of true love, they would have formed a family, tribe, society and nation and realized the will of God on earth, the establishment of the ideal world, the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
Although this was God’s ideal of creation, false parents came into being through the fall of man. Centering on a relationship of false love, the first couple became false parents and entered into a false blood relationship in collusion with false love. They then multiplied descendants of false love, false life and false blood lineage. The families, tribes, nations and world of today are expansions of that family.
The three key nations
In the last days, Satan does his utmost to create a history of destruction that will prevent the fulfillment of God’s will. In 1945, the liberation [of Korea] created the opportunity for unification, centering on the Christian cultural sphere represented by England, America and France. The central figure to guide the unification of the world is the Messiah. The Messiah’s responsibility while he is on earth is to engraft the children of the false olive tree to the true olive tree, and to gather the pure fruits into heaven’s storehouse.
The fall of man produced a world of enmity stemming from false love, false life and false blood lineage. Satan adulterated the divine lineage. Because of the connection through the blood lineage, there is no way for the results to be cleansed on their own.
Three nations were needed, both on the heavenly and satanic sides, in order to restore Eve, Cain and Abel, who joined to follow fallen Adam and Satan into hell. During World War II, England, America and France represented the Christian cultural sphere. England, an island country, was the Eve nation. An island country is almost always in the position of invading a continent. The Abel nation was America, an offspring of England and its successor. France, as Cain, was the enemy of England and the United States in the past. In the original family, Satan united with Eve, Cain and Abel. This individual-level seed bore fruit on the national level. In the world wide course of restoration, three nations should unite as Cain, Abel and Eve, centering on Eve, and return to the perfected Adam, the original husband on God’s side. This process of unifying and returning to Adam requires a complete reversal of direction. With the victory of World War II, these nations should have formed the cultural sphere of the bride and unified the whole world. Such unification was not for the sake of England, America or France, but for the sake of attending the True Father.
The countries on Satan’s side during World War II-Japan, Germany and Italy-were responsible for the deaths of many Christians. Hitler massacred as many as six million Jews. Satan played the game of blotting out the countries of the heavenly side through exerting his full power. However, he could not achieve more than seventy-five percent success.
The command to love your enemy means to love the very one who adulterated love. Can you love an adulterer? The devil perverted divine love. Human beings inherited satanic lineage instead of godly lineage. Because of this, even the omnipotent God could not lead mankind throughout history according to His will.
Suppose someone abducts a woman the day before her wedding, ravishes her and multiplies offspring through her according to his own desire. Could such a woman and her children return to the original husband and say, “We have all missed you so much,” and be received by him? God expelled Adam and Eve right away because of such behavior. How much time would have to pass before He could consider restoring His children?
Bringing Satan to his Knees
With deep han [suffering heart], God seeks that original world of heart. God longs for the son who can reach closer to perfection than Adam did and who can command Satan. God is waiting for the day when the Lord of the Second Advent can make Satan surrender. Until the dawning of that day, God cannot find liberation.
No matter how much power a president might wield, he still has to uphold the constitution and observe existing laws. Similarly, God does not do things as He pleases. He does not break the laws that He established centered on the standard of the great principle of creation.
Adam should solve his sin because it was he who committed sin. Because immature Adam fell out of ignorance, a mature Adam needs to appear. Such a mature Adam should be able to accuse Satan in front of God by digging up all the secrets known to both God and Satan. No one can enter the heavenly world without a certificate showing that they were victorious over Satan. Today’s Christians who think that they can enter the Kingdom of Heaven merely by believing in God have a thievish disposition.
You may think that God, in place of human beings, would bring the devil to his knees, but that is not the case. If it would have been possible, God would have prevented the fall by shouting out to Adam and Eve, “Hey, don’t fall!” God is to dominate Adam and Eve in the realm of perfection, not in a stage of immaturity. If He had interfered with the act of the fall, this sphere of perfection would have been destroyed.
As we move toward the last days, the Unification Church will rise up and the established churches will decline. Many churches in America are in a dire situation; they have become places where free sex is introduced, and they are the gathering places for old folks who talk about this and that.
Fulfilling our historic our historic responsibilities
Our Unification Church is different. Many young people are coming and having spiritual experiences and learning how to guide their lives. There is no perfection in ignorance. Christians think that it is enough just to believe in God, but we have to follow the road of indemnity and assume our historic responsibility. Why have all the righteous people throughout history made sacrifices and taken the road of suffering? According to the law of indemnity, a nation can be brought from the satanic world to heaven’s side when a man sent by God pays the debt through suffering and persecution, representing that country.
A gate for saving the world was opened when Jesus, representing the world, was sent to the cross. Unless we have the same conviction about dying that Jesus had, we cannot go to the same place Jesus went. Remember the words of Jesus: “For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” This is paradoxical logic. Those who assume that they will receive blessings by believing in the Christian church do not understand that God works His providence not to save Christianity but to save the world. “For God so loved the world …,” the Bible says; not “God so loved the Protestants” or “God so loved the Presbyterians” or “God so loved the Catholics.” The sectarians in the Christian churches are not concerned about the world. However, God is very concerned about the world, and that is why He will send those who put their own denomination above all others to hell.
The purpose of salvation is to form a world of truth, liberate all nations and destroy denominationalism. One nation must be saved. By sacrificing one nation, all nations can be liberated. Ultimately, by liberating all nations, we can liberate our Heavenly Father.
God’s ideal of creation is to bring to earth parents of true love who are completely united with God. Previously there were no such parents on earth. However, with the coming of True Parents and the Completed Testament Age, the perfected level of the growth stage in the fallen world has no relationship with the satanic world. Because we have reached a turning point in the great law of heaven, I have done bold things this past year.
In Texas about eighty people died following a false messiah who went by the name of David, causing great devastation. The false one and the true one will appear on the same level. Just prior to the beginning of my United States tour, the media was very negative to new religions; but I recognized the transition time and, against the advice of leaders, proceeded with the United States tour and other activities.
Offering the victory to Mother
At such a time, I stood up and proclaimed the True Parent and the Completed Testament Age. Last year was the first time in neatly twenty years for me to stand publicly in front of the American people. People were saying, “Reverend Moon is going to speak in public; let’s go and see what he has to say!” I completely over ran the twelve largest cities in America. In San Francisco, for example, I spoke for one hour and forty minutes, longer than scheduled. When I told them that what they had believed so far was false and that they should check whether they can go to heaven by believing only in Jesus, many thoughtful people were deeply touched and shocked. In this way I generated a supreme victory and laid it in front of Mother.
In all fifty states of America, Mother received medals or other awards. In one place they had prepared thirty-seven different awards. As there was not enough time for her to receive them one by one, blessed children stood on the stage holding the awards, as a welcome to Mother.
I have initiated all kinds of international meetings, such as the International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences and the Professors World Peace Academy conferences. In almost every country there are distinguished people who are indebted to me. Therefore, when they heard that Mother was coming in my place, they welcomed her. In this way, within one-and-a-half years Mother has stepped up to the highest position among the women of this world.
The chance to prove ourselves
In 1993 the Completed Testament Age began, and True Parents became known throughout the world. America appears to be in a bad situation and Japan also has many problems, even Korea is not much better. Everyone must listen to my words.
There is no one who can put the world back into shape at this point. Neither the established Christian churches nor the religious leaders can do it. All religions have come to the end of their ropes because they have been fighting among themselves. The only remaining religion is the Unification Church. The experiments of both democracy and communism have come to an end. All the “isms” that have arisen from the mind of man have proven to be failures. However, the Unification Church has not yet had the chance to demonstrate its thought on the national level. The churches and denominations that oppose us now will all collapse, as will all nations that oppose us. Now the time has come for us to realize our ideals.
As I was educating. the Japanese women, I discovered that one-third of them were university graduates. There are plenty of clever women everywhere. It was the first time I realized that we have so many intelligent women in the Unification Church! In America, also, most of our sisters are from the upper classes. Dull and uneducated people cannot stand the life in our church.
We are now in the women’s age. For the next seven years, until the year 2000, women will find strong support for their work.
The mission of the Unification Church is to attend True Parents. The desire of mankind is to attend True Parents. I started my seven-year course in 1960, after becoming victorious over the point where Adam and Eve had fallen. After the first chosen people failed, America with its Christian culture became the second Israel. Now the Unification Church is in the position of Abel, and America is in the position of Cain. Both must become one. Because England, America and France could not unite with me after World War II, Satan invaded their foundations. Communists took up positions on Christian territory and sought to get rid of me. Both the communists and the Christians wanted to kill me. For forty years they did all kinds of misdeeds on the personal, family, societal, national and worldwide levels. God’s side was continually attacked by Satan and plundered; but all the while, Satan’s side was perishing.
Ignorant people will not even realize it when somebody comes to their house and acts like the landlord; while they still think they are doing fine, they will have already lost everything. The Bible says the first will be last. Do not be too proud that you joined the Unification Church earlier than others-those who come after you may get all the blessings.
Korean unity will open the door to heaven
When one hundred sixty family-level messiahs have been established centering on the tribal messiah, the age of entering heaven will come nationwide. I could bless all five billion people within one week. When North and South Korea unite and form one nation, those who have received the blessing will experience the age of entering heaven.
I have reached out to one hundred sixty missionary countries-an example that you should follow. Under persecution, I established missions in one hundred sixty nations, but you will be welcomed when you restore one hundred sixty families. If you do not do that you will be in trouble, for tribal messiahship is not a children’s game.
The word “messiah” in the term “tribal messiah” is the name of True Parents. The tribal messiah must look for family messiahs. Because people were lost in the family, they have to be found in the family. People must attend God in the family, the tribe and the nation.
I have educated the Japanese members about these things, and they will work day and night to achieve their goals. The Korean members enjoy seeing me educate the Japanese members, but they should not enjoy it just for their own sake. You must understand that I do everything for God’s will and for the world. I am willing to sacrifice the Korean members for the purpose of saving the world. I do not in-tend to sacrifice the world for one nation. Someone who wants to save Korea by sacrificing many nations for it is a thief. God’s will is to sacrifice Korea for the world, once it is united. Christianity was brought up to save the world, but when Christians fight and split up into different denominations there is no longer any reason for them to exist.
If my mother had the qualification to be a saint, she would have encouraged me to sacrifice and to feed those who were in prison with me. However, she brought rice powder and side dishes for her son to eat and then would cry in front of my eyes because I shared them with my fellow prisoners. That kind of mother is not needed. I will never forget that. In North Korea one had to get eighteen different permits in order to visit a prisoner. I know that to share her gifts was not an act of filial piety towards a mother who, when rice was extremely scarce, collected a little bit of rice here and there in order to accumulate enough to save her son from starving. However, I had to think of how my fellow prisoners looked at me. I gave away all the clothes she brought me, but because I acted like that, I could be respected by everyone in the world.
The same thing happened with the Japanese members I taught recently. For seventy-seven days there was not even one day that I slept comfortably. In this way I educated fifty-two thousand people. If they have warm blood in their veins, they will go back to Japan and never forget the blessings that I gave them.
The role of the conscience
Have you become the people who can settle safely with True Parents in the Completed Testament Age? Do your body and soul no longer fight with each other? Do you have an eternal foundation for peace, a perfect dwelling place in the center of yourself, where you can receive God and True Parents?
As long as your mind and body are fighting, you have nothing to do with the Kingdom of Heaven. In order to unite mind and body, you have to overcome the desire to eat, the desire to sleep and sexual desire. Without that victory, it is impossible to unite mind and body. If mind and body are not one, you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Your conscience [yang-shim] is a second God. [Note: Father has spoken at length about yang-shim recently. Father’s meaning, according to Rev. Kwak, is close to the meaning of “original mind.”] The first God is the Creator. Since the Creator is the subject and you are the object, you need to become one. God is the number one Creator and man is the number two Creator. Who makes sons and daughters? You do. It’s all the same. God was man and woman without external form. God then formed the images of the ideal man and woman. The manifestation of the male image became Adam, and the manifestation of the female image became Eve.
Man and woman become one centered on love and then give birth to sons and daughters. (God designed the image of Adam and the image of Eve to become one.) In order to feel the same joy as when He created Adam and Eve, God planned that couples unite. Through such united couples, all creation can be united and immersed in joy. By giving birth to sons and daughters, we inherit the joy God felt when He made Adam and Eve. Therefore, we have to raise our sons and daughters like God.
Because the conscience was placed in the position of a second God, our con-science and body have the positions of subject and object. When our conscience and body unite, we can take the position of God and stand in His place. However, the functions of the conscience are weaker than those of the body, because the power of the love relationship at the completion level of the growth stage is stronger than the power level of the conscience before the fall. Therefore, the body is dragging the mind along.
The conscience is the vertical self, inheriting love, life and blood lineage from the Creator, centered on vertical true love. The body of perfected Adam is the non-fallen, horizontal self, inheriting love, life and blood lineage centered on horizontal true love. You have to understand that the body is the horizontal self and the mind is the vertical self.
All religions teach asceticism, fasting, sacrifice and service. However, the theoretical basis for these teachings was unknown. Since I explained these things, this question is now solved. The position of the absolute conscience is the position of the absolute God. When the conscience speaks, there’s no need to ask God. Can anyone educate the conscience? Parents cannot order their children’s consciences around. The conscience transcends parents and teachers. God does not give you a conscience and then continue to educate it. You have to take the conscience as an absolute in order to unite your mind and body.
Make your own safe settlement of True Parents and the Completed Testament Age in your mind and body! Serve your con-science as you would serve the absolute God.
In 1994, the spiritual world and the physical world will become one. If you push forward with absolute faith, all things will work out. When you see a sick or miserable person and unconsciously your heart is moved, try praying ardently for that person with tears of compassion, and all kinds of things will hap-pen. However, more than miracles, truth is needed. Jesus died while working miracles. Truth endures without changing, while miracles produce temporary results. Temporary things cannot control eternity.
Your counselor of love
Do you know where God is? He is in the place where your conscience is most joyful. People have not known this. The chief counselor is the counselor of love. The counselor of a man is at the core of his love and conscience. The counselor of a woman is at the core of her love and her conscience. That is also where God is. When you dig deep inside this core, you will surely feel this root. Therefore, cultivate the field of your heart.
Have a dialogue-prayer with yourself: “Hey, you! You got up this morning and did something wrong or said something wrong!” When you said this your body surely did not like it. If you keep doing things that your body does not like, Satan will die little by little. If there is nothing in you for Satan to feed upon, no more air to breathe, he will have to feed on himself, little by little. If you practice good habits for three to five years, Satan will be completely eradicated from within you. When the stage of activity for your conscience expands to your whole body, you can establish yourself in the blood lineage of the Kingdom of Heaven. Then you will come to know everything. Even the rats know when a ship preparing to leave the harbor is going to sink-they climb down the ropes at night to escape certain death. Therefore, why shouldn’t man, the lord of all creation, know these things?
In 1994, we will” settle safely.” This is the time for the safe settlement of True Parents and the Completed Testament Age. It is the time for safe settlement of the mind and body and our safe settlement as couples and families. Without unity of mind and body, there is no ideal couple. When you become one in love, nothing is too difficult anymore. The more challenges you face, the deeper you can love each other.
When poor parents cannot feed their children and have to watch their children go to bed hungry, their hearts almost break. However, the love that the children receive from such parents is something they will never forget. Deeper love produces a connection of greater value.
We must settle safely within our mind and body. We must safely settle the True Parents and the Completed Testament Age. Your mind and body should form a peaceful realm into which God and True Parents can enter and where they can be worshipped. God will take such a husband and wife in His hands and say, “Please do not go, let’s live together.” The question is whether you are such a couple. We are created to become one through God’s love and live in God’s love.
The owner of our love, life and blood lineage is God. Therefore, the marriage of Adam and Eve is the marriage of God. To the secular world, such a concept seems completely false. However, it contains the secret of the universe. That is why we call God “Heavenly Father.”
If God can take your couple in His hands, laying His right hand on the husband and His left hand on the wife, your sons and daughters will be born geniuses.
Because we have lived like that, God protected the path of the Unification Church, and our church has been prospering. For forty years we have been receiving persecution. How we have prospered is a mystery no one can solve.
Let us safely settle True Parents and the Completed Testament Age in ourselves, in our families and in our nations. This is the ideal of God’s creation. We must establish the heavenly nation, the nation connected to heaven.
Become a model family
In order to settle on the individual level, we must be united in mind and body, and we must be united as a couple. There should be no tears; you cannot insist on your own way. If you want to insist, you must insist according to the heavenly principle. I already taught you the four great realms of heart and the three kingships. From now on, you must live like that.
Your family is the model for the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and in heaven. In that model, there are grandparents, parents, couples and children. Once we expand to the worldwide level we find the same four levels of grandparents, parents, couples and children.
Those sons and daughters are not your own sons and daughters; they are the children of the world. It is not easy to become a parent. It is not easy to become a teacher. It is not easy to become filial sons and filial daughters. That is why you must train to live for others in the family. Once you become a model family, encompassing grandparents, parents and children, you can go to any part of the heavenly kingdom. In any nation and in any village, you will be welcomed.
In order to focus our vision, our two eyes must become one. Our two nostrils must become one in order to breathe well. The vibration of our lips must be synchronized in order to speak. The vibrations coming to our ears must be harmonized. Because our blood system, heart, and various other internal organs are all safely settled in, we do not feel pain.
It is our han that we have not safely settled Heavenly Father and True Parents. If God has a wish, it would be to settle safely. Safe settlement starts from a man or a woman and expands when a woman becomes complete through uniting with a man and a man becomes complete through uniting with a woman. Each of them separately is an incomplete half, but through love they unite and become complete. The invisible God receives stimulation by being united with the visible God, the substantiation of His love.
Since True Parents are the earthly king and God is the heavenly king, you become a prince or a princess of the two worlds by settling both God and True Parents. Such princes and princesses are in the position of Adam and Eve. Today’s families, as expansions of the original one, are being destroyed through the operation of Satan’s ideology of destruction. To recreate and complete the ideal of the family, we should be trained in the four great realms of heart and three kingships. That is why Unification Church members go forward to find a true tribe and a true nation, based on their foundation as a true family centered on a true self, husband and wife and family.
The hometown of true love
The hometown providence means to attend God and live with Him eternally in the Kingdom of Heaven. People long for that kind of environment, because the hometown of true love is God. Hometown providence means returning to the original place and putting down a permanent root, sprouting fruit-bearing branches and living there eternally.
The secret of safe settlement is to invest yourself for others and then forget about it. Husbands should live for their wives, parents live for their children, children live for their parents, citizens live for their nation and the nation live for its citizens.
All the complex problems of the world stem from the problem of man and woman. More than eighty percent of historical problems are rooted in the man-woman relationship. Once we find the final solution to this problem, world peace is eighty percent within our grasp.
The responsibility of the tribal messiah is the safe settlement of the individual and then the safe settlement of the family, clan and tribe. Now many tribal messiah heroes should start to emerge. If you restore one hundred sixty families, you can receive permission to register in the Kingdom of Heaven.
No matter how much you know about God’s will, if you do not do the mission of tribal messiah and expand to one hundred sixty families, you cannot register in the Kingdom of Heaven. I sent tribal messiahs throughout the world, because if you do this mission the world will automatically become one. The need for separation of powers within a nation will eventually disappear. There will be no need for police, because the tribes will take care of law and order.
Prepare to attend God and True Parents so that they can settle safely in your family and in your nation. That is the foundation for the unification of the fatherland, the basis for the Kingdom of Heaven on earth and the key for your liberation. When we live with God, everything is resolved and God Himself is liberated.
Let us make 1994 a year of liquidating debts and taking care of others. In front of our tribe and the world we shall accelerate this forward march for the unification of the world and for peace. Amen.
