USA: ACLC Prayer Breakfast in NYC Shares ‘God’s Love’
Prepared by FFWPU USA
A series of prayer breakfasts in New York and New Jersey are planned for each Saturday this month, as the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) and Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) prepares to co-sponsor a Peace Starts With Me rally on December 28. Many Christian clergy have been invited to attend the year-end event along with a special World Clergy Leadership Conference (WCLC). About 30,000 ministers from around the world are expected to attend the rally, featuring keynote speaker and FFWPU co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, affectionately known as True Mother and the Mother of Peace.
More than 300 guests filled the Grand Ballroom at the New Yorker hotel in Manhattan on Saturday, November 30 in support and anticipation of the upcoming rally. The program included a breakfast buffet, musical entertainment, scripture readings, a video introducing the Mother of Peace and her journey toward global peace, as well as a special welcome message from FFWPU Regional Chairman of North America Dr. Ki Hoon Kim.
Dr. Kim shared about Dr. Moon’s heart for Africa and her month-long tour there in 2018, where she returned again this year. “She asked God to please bless the land of Africa,” said Dr. Kim. “And now she is in Johannesburg, South Africa.” Dr. Moon also spoke at a peace rally in the African island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe in early September.
Rev. Dr. Renee F. Washington-Gardner, senior pastor at Memorial Baptist Church in Harlem, New York, gave the keynote address at the prayer breakfast, discussing the importance of sharing God’s love. “How can unity be shared through our congregations if it is not shared through the leadership?” she said. “We as leaders must be able to promote God’s love.”
ACLC Co-Chairman Dr. Luonne Rouse also delivered an inspiring message to guests. “We are the chosen agents by God to stand and pray with True Mother,” he said. “I ask you to look within yourselves to find God’s spirit dwelling within you.” Dr. Moon has tirelessly traveled to many nations to promote peace and reconciliation, continuing the peacebuilding legacy of her late husband and FFPWU co-founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon.
The next prayer breakfast will take place on Saturday, December 7 at the Grand Prospect Hotel in Brooklyn, New York from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For more information on the Peace Starts With Me rally or to get involved, click here.
