Embracing the planet in Peace Road Argentina 2019
The Peace Route was carried out through the streets of the City of Buenos Aires, on Sunday, November 10, declared “of interest for the promotion and defense of human rights” by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
The starting point was Km. 0, in front of the National Congress, the beginning of the Argentine road network, where the Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) and other Peace Road organizations planted an olive tree. The arrival point was the Planetarium, where a symbolic hug was made to the planet, as “expression of our commitment to care for the environment, solidarity and Peace”.
The bike ride traveled about 20 kilometers and the walk about 8 kilometers, passing through historical and significant points of the city, with a prayer in front of the Palace of Justice of a Catholic representative and an evangelical pastor. Among the walkers were children and older adults, people in wheelchairs, complete families and even pets. In addition to the diversity of organizations and participants that came from distant provinces, such as Jujuy and Misiones to be the protagonist of the day.
After the emotional entrance to the Planetarium, to the rhythm and music of the Venezuelan group Rumbarepa, and the symbolic embrace to the planet there were allusive words, a message of Peace in sign language and an artistic closing where the choir of the Federation of Families sang.
