Ghana: Inauguration of International Association of Chiefs for Peace and Prosperity

On the 25th August 2019, we held the inauguration of greater Accra chapter of International Association of Chiefs for Peace and Prosperity. The event took place in BUKUM park located in Accra. This event was a joint collaboration with FFWPU Ghana and the Ga Traditional council.
We had more than 100 participants including the traditional rulers traditional rulers who are the custodians of the land and the people, opened widely the way for the initiative of UPF Ghana. The event began with the prayer from the Christian, Islam and Ga religious respectively. As culture demands, the traditional chief priest also on stage with their bottle of snaps offered libation in form of invocation. The chairman of the event was the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Nii LAMPTEY VANDERPUYE and his co-chair was the Upper East Regional Minister, Honorable Frank Fuseini Adongo. Together with the traditional rulers they were ushered in to the high table with the traditional talking drums.
In his opening remarks, the chairman thanked the organizers for the effort in putting the program together, and the honor done to him to chair it. He stressed on the forefathers effort to foster peace in the land, and the importance of togetherness within this generation.
There were more than 50 traditional rulers in attendance, both chiefs and queen mothers. But in all, the event witnessed about 150 people including government ministers, religious leaders, business men/ women, youth groups and Ambassador for peace. The audience watched videos of Senegal and South Africa summits. Then Ambassador for Peace Awards were presented to 7 Clans Heads by UPF/Ghana. Each of the clan also received a Tree of Peace, Avocado plant from UPF as a symbol of Peace for both present and future generations.
The climax of the launch of IACPP Greater Accra Chapter was the signing of the peace Resolution by the 40 chiefs and all the VIPs on the high table.
