Ghana: Character Education and Family Seminar
Prepared by WFWP Ghana
On June 26, 2019, two executives of WFWP Ghana with the support of the five WFWP members from Japan organized character education in two schools in Accra. The team created awareness about HIV/Aids and educated the students on the importance of abstinence before marriage. Mrs. Vivian Nkasia delivered the lecture entitled: HIV/AIDS and the future of our Youth .The students were mobilized through the school’s headmasters. More than 100 students attended the lecture. The schools are located in Medie, a suburb of Accra.
The purpose of the first activity is to educate the students about the dangers of premarital sex and advised them on the option of abstinence before marriage. It is also an opportunity to educate them on many types of STDs. Our main goal is for the youth to pledge to live pure life while they grow.
In the second activity in the community, we seek to educate women about creating a base for peaceful and ideal families. Most importantly, we educate them on ideal family values and talk about the renewal of marriage vows officiated by our True Parents. We show pictures of previous Blessing events.
In addition, on Sunday, June 30, 2019, four executives of WF/ Ghana, accompanied by the Japanese sisters visited the community of Abensu, in the Greater Accra Region.
The event was organized with the help of the community leader who assembled about 60 women to receive our team. Mrs Marthe Whyte, President of WF/Ghana made a presentation on the topic: the family is the school of love and Peace. The participants listened carefully to the presentation, which was translated in the local language for a better understanding.
All the women were touched by our message and few of them asked questions after the presentation. Some of them expressed their desire to renew their marriage vows as we explained about True Parents main mission on earth to them. They were amazed to see previous blessing pictures officiated by the True Parents.
We shall revisit the community to meet families in order to give them Heavenly Tribal Messiah blessing.
