Russia: Dr. Joon Ho Seuk Speaks at Moscow Sunday Service
By Jack and Renee Corley, FFWPU East Europe
As Dr. Joon Ho Seuk stepped through the doors of Eastern Europe headquarters in Moscow on Sunday, May 5, 2019, he was greeted with enthusiastic cheers and applause from dozens of members who were waiting for his arrival.
For Dr. Seuk, who from 1990 to 2008 was the continental director of the former Northeast region, it was his first visit to the headquarters since he completed his mission. It was all the more significant because the headquarters building, a former cinema, had been bought and restored during his leadership.
Before starting his sermon, Dr. Seuk showed a video from Korean TV showing how the works of True Parents directly led to the collapse of the Soviet Union. In his sermon, Dr. Seuk recalled the many challenges that missionaries and members experienced during the 1990s in building a foundation. He also described how much love and other support True Parents invested in the countries of the former Soviet Union.
Dr. Seuk was accompanied during his visit by Mr. Takemitsu Hoshiko from Japan and Mr. Venus Agustin from the Philippines. Both of them are instructors in the Tong-il Moo-do martial art, which Dr. Seuk developed in the late 1970s under the guidance of True Parents. In order to reignite
TIMD development in the Europe and Middle East region, and especially in the Eastern Europe subregion, Dr. Seuk and his associates offered honorary TIMD black belts to Regional Chair Dr. Michael Balcomb and Subregional President Jack Corley.
During the Sunday service, Russian National Leader Yuri Gavrilin and his wife, Olga, offered a painted wooden angel to Rev. Inpyo Moon, director of the European branch of HJ CheonBo, and other gifts to his assistants, Tibor Krebsz of Hungary and Mateo Ziko of Albania.
