France: Dangers of Pornography, Sexual Integrity

By David Perry, FFWPU France

The High Noon Saturday program in France, on May 11th, was much appreciated by the 48 participants. We arrived at our training center early to set everything up. Much to our surprise, we found water on the floor that had somehow infiltrated the room following heavy rains during the night. After quickly drying the floor, we then became concerned as our tech person had not arrived as schedule. He was phoned and was blocked on a flooded highway. He gave instructions by phone on how to set up the sound system. This is not how we imagined the beginning of our day.

So, it began about 30 minutes late at 9:30 with a lecture on the High Noon culture, which was a term that True Father used in the 1990s to speak of a life without shadows, without secrets. This was followed by a 2nd lecture on the dangers of pornography today. It is everywhere, available on any smartphone. We must be aware of this trap, awaiting to ensnare any of us, any of our children and any of our grandchildren. The first session closed with the High Noon staff taking questions from the audience.

After lunch 2 different lectures were presented in different rooms. One for couples living together, on Heavenly Intimacy, and one for singles on Preparing for Heavenly Intimacy. Our movement has always made sexuality sound like something bad, which it is when it is not limited to one man and one woman. But within that framework of one man and one woman, sexuality is God’s greatest gift to humanity. We come to resemble God through that sexual bond and even create life through it. The time has come to recognize the sacredness of sexuality within Blessed couples and experience the joy that God wants us to experience.

Following that lecture, there was a time for discussion in little groups on some of the themes that had been touched on as being necessary to live the culture of High Noon, such as honesty, integrity. The groups were 2 couples or 3-4 singles and everyone shared points that had touched them on these themes. A lot of positive energy was generated through this sharing.

The day finished around 5:30pm and participants were very glad they had made the effort to come despite the heavy rain in the morning. The French members strongly encourage everyone to participate when High Noon comes near you!
