Russia: Treasure of Heaven Ministry Inauguration for Russia and Eastern Europe
By Lisa Janssen, UPF Russia
On the weekend of March 16 – 17, 2019, about 18 brothers and sisters gathered in the Moscow Peace Embassy for the inauguration of the Treasures of Heaven ministry. Some came from far off regions and even had to fly in for this special event! The participants were mainly parents of one or more children with special needs, representatives of the BFD and Education Department.
Olga, wife of the nat. leader, supported the meeting with her presence and spoiled our physical needs. Some parts of the meeting were live broadcasted for those who could not attend in person.
Some weeks ago, Galina Chernomorets, director of the Russian and Eastern Europe BFD, had sent a request to Orlande Schenk if someone active in this field could come to support the event and share their experiences and knowledge. Finally, Lisa Janssen and Marco Rivetti were chosen to travel to Moscow.
Lisa showed a PowerPoint presentation of the TOH ministry main goals and what we have done so far: in 2008 the TOH ministry for Europe was started by Maria Pammer and Lisa Janssen.
Both (with a child with special needs at that time) felt the need to raise awareness, understanding and compassion within our Church community and build a support group for the physical and mental needs for families that are entrusted by our Heavenly Parent to take care of a child with Special Needs. Lisa emphasized that these Treasures of Heaven should be respected and loved even more deeply by all of us, as they carry a special mission of restoration (not necessarily at the family level – but sometimes also on the national, racial or religious level!) But, what’s even more meaningful, they help us to understand more deeply the suffering and compassionate heart of our Heavenly Parents and our True Parents.
Brothers and sisters were touched by the presentation and felt the warm embrace of being understood in what they are going through in their everyday lives – and their deep concerns for the future of their child(ren).
The presentation was so well received that Lisa was asked to repeat a shortened version during the nationally broadcasted Sunday service the next day.
All of the meeting was very efficient; Marco and Lisa could listen to and counsel some of the parents individually and plans how to practically start off the ministry were made at the spot.
Included in the two days program was a presentation by Dimitry Guseev (a TOH parent himself) who is a professional coach, about the “5 principles of positive communication” (by Milton Erickson), and an art session by Bayarma Efremova.
Tatiana Panichenko will be the ministry leader for the newly established TOH department; she expressed her desire to participate in our next TOH summer camp – which we joyfully encouraged!
Marco and I were touched by the respect and loving care that we’ve been treated with – it truly made us feel like representing a parental position. After the end of the program Tatiana took us for a short sightseeing to the center of “Moscow at night”, and on Monday morning we visited the Kremlin, Red square and some cathedrals together with Galina. Our visit concluded with a delicious lunch in a traditional “Soviet Café”
Thank You Heavenly Parent for such a wonderful, meaningful experience!
