Cameroon: YSP Educators’ Training

YSP carried out two character education workshops on the 02nd and 09th of February 2019 at the education center at Cite vert in Yaoundé from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
There were 3 participants in the first session that began from 9 a.m. 1 university student and 2 high school student. That which took place on Saturday the 09th of February saw the participation of 4 people (2 university students, 1 high school student and 1 young cerographist. In both cases, the workshop began with the presentation of the vision, objectives and activities of YSP by NCHIA KAMRAN, the president of YSP. After the lectures, the participants were submitted to an exchange exercise in which each person was asked to explain what he/she would do to contribute towards realizing the vision of YSP. Their suggestions included sensitizing youths in quarters/communities about pure love and reflection on peace design projects. After this we took a group picture and shared snacks and participants left full of motivation and enthusiasm.
YSP carried out a character education workshop for Primary School Teachers of The Grace International School on the 7th of February 2019 at the school campus from 11 a.m. to 13 p.m.
There were 7 participants. Workshop began with the presentation of the vision, objectives and activities of YSP by Mr. George Ndode, the director of education of YSP and was accompanied by Pastor Rodrigue who is also an education staff for YSP. After the lectures, the participants were submitted to an exchange exercise in which each person was asked to give their impressions about the presentation and explain what he/she would do to contribute towards realizing the vision of YSP.
All the teachers were excited and motivated by the lecture. They all promised to continue and asked how to become members of YSP. To this, YSP resolution forms were given to them to fill and they thus enlisted to join YSP and they were invited to complete the chapters of the Four Family Loves as they shall be of great importance in educating youths from their position as teachers.
At an education program for the youth organized by the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education, we were the only organization to participate during the three days. We distributed the pamphlets to the administrative authorities present namely the representatives of the departmental delegation of youth including the regional delegate of the youth of the west without counting the various young people mainly the pupils of high schools and colleges as well as some passengers.
Various animators during the 3 days: Mr. Nyare Matthieu, Mr. Bekuike Jonalus, Mr. Vincent Tagne and Mrs. Dina Tagne and Mrs. Mythe Mboulenou who are all staff of FFWPU Bafoussam.
The general attitude was positive and in addition we received the encouragement of the representatives of Departmental Delegation of Youth and Civic Education.
On February 9 we had a rehearsal. There were 40 participants in total 30 men and 10 women. The internal members numbered 07 and the young people from the outside 33.
And on February 11 we had the actual parade. There were 24 men and 12 women, a total of 36 people including 10 full time internal members and 26 guests. After the event, we held a conference with the theme “Youth is the most important stage of life” Speaker: Mr. Ngo Nyari Matthieu – Participation of 27 young people.
In general, the youth appreciated the initiative and asked to keep them informed about future activities. We kept the contacts of the participants.
