Zambia: Participation in the Civil Society Organizations Exhibition

The Universal Peace Federation Zambia was invited to exhibit with other hundreds of Non-Governmental Organizations and Civil Society for the 1st ever Zambia Civil Society Organization (CSO) Fair. The event took place on Saturday, 27th October, 2018 at Cosmopolitan Mall in Lusaka under a big tent mounted for the occasion. The theme was “Promoting Networking for Effective Service Delivery”. It was organized by Skill share Governance support Foundation”.
The event began with an opening ceremony held outdoor of the same Mall.
There were performances by pupils and other dancing groups. The first speaker was Mr. Charles Mushitu, Chief Technical Advisor at Skill share Governance Support Foundation. In his remark he gave the background of the organization, the objective of the organization. The second speaker was the representative from Government, Mr. Humphrey Kapapula. In his speech, he congratulated all the civil society organizations and encouraged the initiative and since the event was held when the Zambia was having a monthly national cleaning campaign. The last speaker was a representative of all Civil Society Organizations exhibiting. She thanked the organizers for the effort put in place to gather different other organizations.
After the opening ceremony, the Guest toured some stands and was impressed with the effort of the Civil Society Organizations.
UPF Zambia displayed magazines, Books, Brochures which have been given away.
The UPF stand was flocked and visited by different people from different fields including many students and other organizations.
It was a good platform for networking with other civil society organizations representatives.
