Cote d’Ivoire: Character Education Program
by Coulibaly Eva, YSP Cote d’Ivoire
We held a character education seminar for the youth on November 2018 at the Daoukro Moderne High School 1 and 2. President of Youth and Students for Peace (YSP-CI), Mr. BROU KONAN JEAN MARIE, YSP-CI gave a lecture aimed at raising awareness among youth about the risks of pregnancy at schools.
During this Conference, nearly 300 young students responded. In addition, we had the presence of the manager of YSP Daoukro Mr. Digbe Dowan Patrice.
The objective of this conference was to create a framework for exchange and training for young people to raise awareness on the thorny issue of the danger of pregnancy in schools, because according to the direction of the strategies of planning and statistics (DSPS) 4147 cases of pregnancy were recorded for the year 2017-2018.
In view of this statistic, we proposed an effective method of educating students’ character through pre-marital abstinence training and lectures, because the causes of school-based pregnancies were mainly due to the lack of information and sexual education reason for which YSP Cote d’Ivoire has chosen to promote character education.
We wants to contribute alongside the efforts made by the government to put an end to this scourge that undermines youth. Because we believe, young people are the future leaders and therefore the choice of life they make today, will influence them and the society in which they live, so it is important that they make the best choice.
The conference ended with overall photos. We want to express our gratitude and gratitude to the Heavenly Parent and True Parents.
