Central African Republic: Inauguration of YSP

On September 1st, 2018, the Youth & Student for Peace (YSP) Launch Ceremony was held in the conference room of the Central African Basketball Federation (OMNISPORT), in partnership with the FPU Central African Republic.

This event had the theme: ”The Role of Young People and Students in Creating a Sustainable Culture and Generation of Peace in Central African Republic”

97 people participated in the ceremony. Among the participants was the presence of the Vice-President of the Special Delegation of the City of Bangui in the person of Mr. NGOBO Guillaume, four Deputies of the Nation, a Pastor of the Church Mission of Revival Baptist, Three leaders of groups of youth, 5 members of the FPU staff, as well as young people and students.

It was an unforgettable experience for the participants to learn new something about the sexual purity that is needed before marriage but which unfortunately is not included in the National School Program.

Statement by Mr. NGOBO Guillaume Vice-President of the Bangui City Special Delegation: ‘’I congratulate the Youth & Student for Peace leadership initiatives in the Central African Republic. You said in your statement that young people must take responsibility. And I say to you that young people are the actors of development, that they do not let themselves be manipulated by the politicians who seek their interest by using the young people but that the young people find their interests in taking responsibility. They must fight.

Youth is the future of our country; we are called to pass the hand to a conscious and confirmed youth. In other words, the YSP has some work to do. I will be ready to lend you a hand. The President of the Special Delegation of the City of Bangui is a young person like you; he is ready to support such an initiative’’.

In addition, the song presented by the choir HYO-JEONG New hope particularly marked the assistance; in particular the Vice Mayor of the city of Bangui who was deeply touched and he wanted it to be popularized.

This event was covered by the National Television and Radio as well as two of the biggest newspapers of the place “the Confidant and l’Hirondelle”
