USA: Engage in the Blessing Movement
On July 10, the National Ministry Team gathered at the Crystal Room in the New Yorker Hotel for their monthly meeting to discuss the significance of engaging in the Blessing Movement. Leaders such as Regional Chairman of Family Federation North America Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, National Director of Youth and Students Ministry Naokimi Ushiroda, and many others gave updates and reports on past and upcoming events.
Upon completing the Blessing of 430 couples, Dr. Kim shared the importance of being intentionally actively engaged in the Blessing Movement; in uniting our tribes and working together we can accomplish Vision 2020 quicker. Dr. Kim continued with a recap of his meeting with True Mother in Japan for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of FFWPU, and True Mother’s luncheon with the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) USA team which was held at the Chinzanso Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.
Director of the Blessing & Family Ministry Mrs. Crescentia DeGoede spoke about the upcoming Cosmic Blessing in August and emphasized the importance of matched couples as well as married couples to attend. Crescentia quoted an impending participant saying, “The Blessing is a way to grow and unite in God’s love together as husband and wife, and to build a family under True Parents,” said an impending participant. Crescentia also mentioned the upcoming National Level 2 Blessing Workshop from August 12-14 and proposed a 40-Day Blessed Life Challenge beginning on July 18 to heal and enrich a marriage.
Universal Peace Federation (UPF) representative Mr. Thomas McDevitt started his speech by stating, “The world needs unity.” Mr. McDevitt continued with updates on how UPF strives to achieve world peace through programs such as the American Leadership Conference, Peace Forum, the Ambassadors for Peace program and Peace Road USA where they have already completed six events this year!
President of Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) USA Angelika Selle spoke about the recent Korean Unity event in Tenafly, New Jersey which took place five days after the summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Mrs. Selle reported about 300 people attended the event and many participants requested more information about the unification of the Korean Peninsula. Vice President of WFWP USA Katarina Connery stated, “In order for the unity of the Korean Peninsula, we must unite centered on God and True Parents.”
Dr. Achille Acolatse spoke about the upcoming African Diaspora Leadership Conference taking place on July 12-15 at the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the purpose of connecting and educating people of the African diaspora about True Parents’ vision for a heavenly Africa.
Rev. Hiroshi Inose, Director of Kodan USA, briefly spoke about the success of the current CARP HyoJeong trip as well as in the past years. Rev. Inose announced there were 40 participants in 2016, 120 participants in 2018, and a miraculous 360 participants this year!
As a first-hand participant, Mr. Naokimi Ushiroda the National Director of Youth and Students Ministry continued the updates on the CARP trip to Japan and Korea. On day 10 the group visited the demilitarized zone and prayed at the fence for the unification of North and South Korea, after which Naokimi said, “We have to unify our hearts to bring unity to the world.”
