Ghana: International Day of the Family

On Wednesday 15th May, 2018, YSP Ghana celebrated the International Day of the Family declared by the United Nation.
Members of YSP living in Accra organized a conference for young couples under the theme, youth couples, sex and ideal family. The activity took place in Mile 7 temple in Accra , Ghana.
There were more than 50 guest comprised of a UN Representative, entrepreneurs, individual from various communities as well as FFWPU members.
The two MCs welcomed all the guests around 5pm on that day and Ms Isis Christelle , The Vice President of YSP Ghana gave a welcome address.
The president of WFWP Ghana followed up with a presentation on family values.
Following the lecture, the UN Youth speech was read by Hon. Sekyi .He outlined the UN millennium development goals and explained how they are connected to the family.
Reverend Tegah, the acting President of YSP Ghana delivered later on the key note address through a power point presentation; on the theme, Young couples, Sex and The Ideal Family.
During his presentation, he noted that a strong conjugal love was necessary to keep the family animated and peaceful.
Then the ceremony of the blessing followed up for just few couples who attended the event in pairs.
Two of the four musicians were awarded by YSP as youth who are commended and commission to use the smartphone responsibly.
YSP named the award; THE SMARTPHONE PEACE HERO AWARD. The awardees were Jim Pee, Local Shock, both musicians and the president of Vodec Africa, a NGO.
The musicians entertained the audience and the awardees also shared their impressions about the program and the award they received.
