USA: ACLC Ministers Share the Marriage Blessing
On March 24, 2018, 82 ministers, leaders, and Unificationists attended the monthly prayer breakfast of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) at the Clifton Family Church in New Jersey. Together, the ministers revisited the vision of ACLC by encouraging fellowship with one another and spreading the Holy Marriage Blessing Ceremony.
After a filling breakfast, ACLC Co-Chairman Dr. Michael Jenkins acknowledged all the families and leaders by expressing his gratitude for supporting and working with ACLC. In his welcoming remarks, he also expressed the importance of the Marriage Blessing and reminded the ministers that as spiritual leaders, they are the central leaders of America.
“You are called by God in hopes to change America,” said Dr. Jenkins. “If you rely on God, you will be able to save your family and the world.”
Following Dr. Jenkins’ welcoming remarks, Bishop Jesse Edwards delivered a rousing introduction for the main speaker of the event, his wife and the pastor of the Manhattan Family Church, Rev. Tanya Edwards. She began her speech by asking the audience, “Has anyone not been blessed?”
She emphasized the significance and the importance of the Marriage Blessing, which confirms an eternal bond and commitment between husband and wife.
“I was asked what I thought about the Blessing,” she said. “I said the Blessing is like a hedge that surrounds you and your spouse with God.”
She also encouraged those in the audience—Christian ministers and Unificationists alike—to follow the greatest commandment: love one another, however difficult it may be.
After the speech, Rev. Edwards and her husband invited all the couples to come forward to offer a toast to the world in receiving the Marriage Blessing.
