Peru: Universal Day of the Child

November 20 is the anniversary of the United Nations Universal Day of the Child and in Peru it was celebrated in the Mason’s Grand Lodge of Peru, with a meeting organized by the Universal Peace Federation -UPF PERU, The Women’s Federation for World Peace and the NGO Heart of Peru.

Master of Ceremonies Mr. César Pajares and Mrs. Maria Elena Rivero – President of the Association of Broadcasters of Peru – introduced the program. The opening remarks were given by the Vice President of UPF PERU. General Hector Jhon Caro, followed by a reflection about the Universal Children’s Day 2017 by the coordinator of the Women’s Federation for World Peace in Peru, Mrs. Luz Mejía Lara.

Then a documentary about the activities carried out by the Federation for Universal Peace was broadcast. The Director of the UGEL 07, Lic. Gloria María Saldaña Usco paid homage to the children champions in different sporting disciplines.

Musical interludes were provided by the choir of the Grand Lodge of Peru, led by Mr. Enrique Vargas Machuca; the singer- songwriter Cesar Villalobos, director of Inca Son and the Band of Musicians of the school “The Educators”.

Ambassador Junior Kabir Pajares, leader of the crusade Planet of Heart, spoke about his vision for the future of children. UPF appointed new Ambassadors for Peace were appointed, including junior and youth ambassadors. Among the new ambassadors of Peace were the Grand Master of the Masons’s Lodge of Peru, Notary César Bazán Naveda, Mayor Ronald Fuertes, the Dean of Statistics of the Angela Morales School and the renowned compere of the TV program “Because Today is Saturday with Andrew “in recognition of his social works of humanitarian assistance; and for the first time a child with a disability was appointed as Junior ambassador, Anderson Mera Chapoñan, outstanding champion athlete champion of the 100 meters race. The meeting was attended by more than 350 people who, following the formal closing remarks, shared a buffet together and discussed about the meeting, expressing their desire to work more in the future with UPF and WFWP.
