Irish UC Community Sports Day

On the 6th of August, 2017, the Irish community had its second annual sports day event. This in an initiative to bring together our blessed families to spend time with each other outside the church setting. Families from all over the country where able to attend, including Northern Ireland and the west coast. True Father has often talked about his love for sports and its power to bring people together, and it was great to see that spirit come alive with everyone enjoying themselves.

After the warm ups, families participated in races, team building games and friendly competition. The older generation used the opportunity to catch up with other members and cheer on the younger generation. Prizes and medals where given to the winning team and overall there was a very good spirit in the hall.

We feel it is important to reach out to the whole community, as we are a small congregation with some families living in isolated areas. It is good to have a chance to meet up and create bonding experiences for the younger generation, especially the ones that don’t have the chance to visit the church center very often.
