Bolivia: Inauguration of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace

On August 17, 2017, the IAPP inaugurated in Bolivia, in the presence of more than 200 participants, including 45 deputies and 9 senators, judges, university leaders and civil society leaders. The event took place in the Germania salon of the Hotel Europa.

Our VIP participants included the Vice-President of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia, Romina Pérez Ramos, the former ombudsman Dr. Rolando Villena, former President of the Chamber of Deputies and Senators Dr. Luis Vázquez among other national authorities …

Among the participants we also had regional president of FFWPU South America, Rev. Kim San Seuk, UPF Regional President Rev. Shin Don Mo, Deputy Héctor Lesme of Paraguay and UPF North America President Ricardo De Sign.

On August 18, a special session was held in the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (National Congress) where Deputies and Senators signed the resolution of the IAPP Bolivia. During this event the international guests were recognized by the parliamentary brigade of the department of La Paz.

We also held Peace Road 2017 in Bolivia. The event took place in the city of El Alto which is more than 4000 meters above the sea level. Participating included representatives of the municipal mayor, music band and national police that accompanied during the entire journey …

More than 120 cyclists and 300 people on foot participated in this march … covering a total of 30 kilometers … the event concluded with a concentration in the atrium of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés; Where the Peace Road flag was passed to Peruvian representatives who arrived for this event …
