Uruguay: Recognition of Peace Culture

As part of the International Women’s Day, the Women’s Federation for World Peace in Uruguay, presided over by María Rosa Neme, accompanied at the General Secretariat by Hyunjoo Park Tsusaka, for the third consecutive year, gave recognition to ladies and institutions that they do a relevant work in favor of Peace. Attending the First Lady, national legislators and a delegation of the National Army made up of female representatives of the Peace Missions and their leaders.
The event took place on March10th, in the Picasso Room of Radisson Montevideo Victoria Plaza Hotel, which was overflowed by numerous attendance, which followed closely the granting of medals and plaques.
Among the distinguished organizations is the National Oral Health Program, chaired by the wife of the President of Uruguay, María Auxiliadora de Vázquez, who along with a group of dentists and officials, with great emotion highlighted the work carried out by the team that carries out The health plan that reaches schools throughout the country, many of them with critical context.
Writers, journalists, therapists, animal advocates, poetesses, spiritualists, singers, among others, were highlighted by the organization after deliberations with the Sponsoring Commission.
The opening remarks were given by the President of WFWP, Uruguay Chapter, journalist María Rosa Neme, who stressed out the importance of working for the good of others and above all, to fulfill one of the objectives that mark the 25 years of the WFWP International, which is the creation of the Global Network of Women, longing for its founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon.
Then, the President of the Universal Peace Foundation, Maestro Raúl Rey Banegas, gave a message based on the values and principles that make good relationships and that make the road to Peace. He also recalled the relevance of International Women’s Day.
