Sri Lanka: Youth Seminar for National Development and Unity
By Edgar T. Tanate, FFWPU Sri Lanka
Members of Parliament, Hon. Ajith Mannaperruma and Hon. Edward Gunasekara, from the district of Gampaha and Founding Members of IAPP-Sri Lanka, initiated and supported the “Youth Seminar for National Development and Unity” as a project of UPF and YFWP in cooperation with the National Youth Corps under the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs.
A total of 150 youth participated in the event on May 19, 2017 at the National Youth Corps Training Center in Yakkala, Gampaha. The National Youth Corps Training Center provided the English translator, projector and screen, free venue, sound system, snacks and lunch for everybody. After the event, the English translator and the Officer-in-Charge were very happy and inspired commenting that the lectures are very timely, inspiring and much needed by the youth of Sri Lanka for them to be the real hope of the nation. They look forward for a follow up project and work with us again.
Since the establishment of IAPP in Sri Lanka, many great events took place which directly contributed to the missionary works. The highly spirited Members of Parliament not only supported verbally but actually lead the Peace Bike during the Peace Road project in 2016, supported the venue and food for the RYS project in Ampara, and now initiated the YFWP Seminar for the youth in cooperation with the National Youth Corps.
The IAPP founded by our beloved True Mother which was launched last February 2015 in Korea, is now actively involved in the works of saving the nation. The work for peace in the country and the world becomes faster and easier when good and responsible national and world leaders join us in accomplishing this noble task centered on the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind.
