Malaysia: Religious Youth Service

We held the 2017 Religious Youth Service (Multicultural Youth Service-MCYS) in Penang, Malaysia from May 5th to 9th 2017 with the support of Asia-Pacific University-Community Engagement Network (APUCEN), local government and university. The main objective of RYS (MCYS) is to raise up young leaders to serve others for the well-being of our global human community with the mission to help young people in personal leadership development and peace-making skills by providing service-learning opportunities based on the universal principle of living for the sake of others.
RYS (MCYS) brought 120 scholars including staff from 10 different countries including Malaysia, Japan, Myanmar, Pakistan, Bagladesh, Yemen, India, Indonesia, Algeria and Philippines unite together to conduct a 4-day service project at Jalan Dinding, Georgetown, Penang. (RYS) MCYS with the theme of ‘Building our youth for tomorrow’ successfully cleared the dreadful environment, road and toilet repair and mural painting, all the participants also built a very good relationship through showing their care and love to the neglected old folks at the service area. Participants also congratulate and be proud of the efforts of UPF by painting UPF’s logo as wall mural as the symbol of world peace.
RYS (MCYS) in Penang has definitely achieved the goal of strengthening and develop a harmonious rapport among youths from various religious backgrounds through intercultural cooperation. RYS (MCYS) project offers a very sustainable platform to youths in leadership development and peace education that groom them to become the future leaders who support True Mother’s providence and build Cheon Il Guk. Participants also attended brief divine principle seminar on the last day of the event as the closing ceremony, they realize only love, unity and trust can together build a world with lasting peace, harmony and co-prosperity.
