A historical graduation and deployment ceremony was held last March 14, 2017 in IPLC, Tanay, Rizal Province in the Philippines for the 1st batch of 120-Day Special Training Course to raise Tongil Moo Do Martial Arts Missionaries. Out of an initial number of 117 student-practitioners, 82 brave young men and women have successfully qualified for the graduation.

In order to advance the providence towards Vision 2020, Philippines embarked on an accelerated program in order to multiply instructors of Tongil Moo Do who shall be deployed all over the nation. For many years, Tong-il Moo Do martial arts which was founded based on the vision of our True Parents, has been proven to be an effective instrument in order to witness to the youth people. Thus, utilizing Tong-il Moo Do as a witnessing tool to support Vision 2020, the training course was pioneered. This program was launched last November 15, 2016 at the International Peace Leadership College (IPLC) Gymnasium in Rizal province which served as the training venue for 4 months. This accelerated program which is made up of 3 phases of 120-Day Course (1-Year Trimestral Program), is designed to cater to bigger number of student-practitioners and with a shorter period of time. It is envisioned that after 120 days of rigid training of martial arts skills and techniques and education on the Divine Principle and Tong-il Moo Do martial arts philosophy, these trainees shall be sent out for internship and officially assigned for a 1-year field mission in various key cities in the Philippines. After a year of internship, qualified instructors will then undergo further training and be recommended for international mission. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to raise 10,000 Tong-il Moo Do Missionaries in a period of 5 years and be sent out to many mission countries around the world.

Aside from the martial arts training which is spearheaded by Dr. Venus Agustin, President of World Tongil Moo Do Federation in Asia and the Program Director, Master Bernard Villagante, 3 cycles of Divine Principle education were also integrated in the program with Mr. Richell Jalipa, Youth Education Director in the Philippines, as the main lecturer. A thorough daily schedule in order to guide the trainees spiritually is also in place through hoondokhae and team meetings. The curriculum follows a program designed for spiritual development of the students with leadership and character development. Lessons on basic Korean language and English language enhancement were also implemented to help them develop their communication skills. The trainees also engaged in productive activities like garden farming and daily cleaning chores to help them develop ownership and care for the environment.

Before their graduation, the 2nd Martial Arts Festival 2017 of the Martial Arts Federation for World Peace was held in IPLC on March 11, 2017 and the trainees could join in the tournament together with many other participants from other martial arts traditions. In spite of the fact that the trainees could join the tournament for the first time, they could already win many awards. The practitioners also attended in the Asian Il Won Do Workshop held last March 9-14, 2017 in IPLC. Also, last March 12, 2017, Dr. Joon Ho Seuk, the Founding Chairman of WTMF International visited and gave message to the 120-Day training participants as well as the IPLC students. He was very inspired looking at the practitioners and challenged them to become someone whom True Parents can be proud of.

After completing a very intense and rigid training for 4 months, finally, the graduation ceremony was conducted.
