The 9th Festival of Nations, organized by the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) and supported by the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) and UPF, was held with a great success and victory for Heavenly Parents and True Parents on September 18, 2016

The program began with the welcome remarks of WFWP-Brazil’s President, Mrs. Cui Yulan, to the authorities and the guests. Her message emphasized that the fundamental role of women in giving harmony to the home and forming healthy families is the foundation of a peaceful society. The words of the President of FFWPU-Brazil, Mr. Koichi Sasaki, emphasized the ideology of peace, “One Family under God,” where we all have the same origin, no matter our race, culture, or religion.

About 50 authorities, including Ambassadors for Peace, journalists, consuls, and businessmen, attended the 9th Festival of Nations. They all enjoyed and stayed throughout the whole event.

Those who had speeches in the event were Consul of Malaysia, Mr. Wan Edison Choong Sern; the Judge of the Superior Court of Justice and Ambassador for Peace, Mr. Pedro Menin; and the Delegate Rosemary Correa, Ambassador of Peace who is an important figure in the struggle for women’s advocacy. They spoke about peace, praised the event, and reaffirmed the importance of the value and beauty of different cultures and traditions.

We had a total of 20 nations which participated, 15 of which had food stands with typical foods and handicrafts, and 13 countries brought their cultural artists to perform. The performances were brilliant and the people were delighted. The atmosphere was very positive. There were 1114 people, and most of them were guests of Home Groups and OIKOS.

We have a total of 193kg. of non-perishable food, which was donated by the members and guests who came to the event. All of this will be donated to non-profit institutions such as an orphanage and old people’s home, among others.

At the end of the event, we sang the song Michael Jackson’s “Heal the world” with the Portuguese version “A Paz.” All our guests were moved and some could not resist coming on stage, holding hands with everybody and making a brilliant “finale”.
