Paraguay: 40th Anniversary of the HSA-UWC
By FFWPU Paraguay
On September 18, 2016, Unificationist families celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity’s establishment in Paraguay. The event was held at Asunción’s headquarters, where many people attended, including the greatest representatives of the Unification movement, Ambassadors for Peace, and special guests.
The Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity in Paraguay was founded on June 5, 1976, a year after the arrival of the first three missionaries who were sent by True Parents: Veronica Keppler, from Germany; Yukio Yatoshi, from Japan; and Michael Paul Roth from Canada. They shed blood, sweat and tears to establish a solid foundation for our church in Paraguay.
The other missionaries, national messiahs, and special envoys also faced difficult times. However, the perseverance and determination of the older brothers made possible that hundreds of families shout in unison “Oh Manse!” for the good results in Paraguay’s church.
The event started at 10:00 am with the welcoming words of Rev. Sung Jeong Seo, Special Envoy in Paraguay. He celebrated the 40 years of the past and invited us to celebrate the next 40 years of providential development in Paraguay. In fact, the members’ determination is to start this second 40-year course by accomplishing the mission of Heavenly Tribal Messiahs through Home Group, One to One, and Oikos. During the event, we delivered recognitions and plaques to those who made history in Paraguay’s providence.
Second-generation and W-CARP members offered artistic performances to entertain the guests during this meaningful day for Hanulpumonin, Champumonin, and all families.
