Peru: Young Ambassadors for Peace
By UPF Peru, Trevor Edward Jones: On June 10, 2016, our young ambassadors Sung Jin, Patrick and Miguel Angel provided the first talk of 2016 in the Ventanilla (a poor district of Lima) CEBE (Center for Special Basic Education), together with the Headmaster Dr. Luis Gregorio Quijandria Rosales, current Ambassador for Peace. The theme for this event was: “Conflict in marriage: – communication and resolution”
This is our second year working with this community. This time, there were more than 70 parents of students with special needs who participated at the event.
After the talk, parents expressed their gratitude to the UPF Young Ambassadors and have committed to participate in future activities of the UPF in Ventanilla.
On the same day June 10, 2016, young ambassadors, together with CARP members visited the Hindu Center of Lima, and participated in a Homa (healing fire).
Homa is a meditation program led by Guru Abel Hernandez and his wife Aleta Macan of the Hindu center (Diffusers of Homa Therapy in Latin America).
This is part of our continuous interfaith work in Peru.
