By UPF/FFWPU Asia: UPF and FFWPU in Asia co-hosted the 16th Asian Leadership Conference (ALC) in Bangkok, Thailand from November 27 – December 1, 2015. Among the 64 participants from 9 different countries in Asia were high level VIPs such as Hon. Shyam Jaju, Vice President of the Ruling Party in India, and H.E. Chong Phet, Deputy Governor of Bontey Meanchay Province in Cambodia.

There were large delegations from Malaysia (25 participants) and Cambodia (20 participants). India brought 6 participants, Indonesia, Nepal and Thailand each had 3 representatives and Brunei and Myanmar 1 each.

All participants were eager to learn Father Moon’s philosophy of peace and how to apply them in their work back home. The presentations were engaging and thought-provoking stimulating eager discussions and positive feedback from the audience.

The special feature of this ALC was that the participants not only learned about the meaning and value of the Blessing but actually joined Thai couples for the Interfaith Peace Blessing Festival held at the Thailand Peace Embassy in the afternoon of Nov. 29 with about 150 participants.

Among the 9 VIP couples, 2 are already undergoing the 40-day separation period whereas the other 6 couples were newly blessed. They joyfully participated in the indemnity stick ceremony and began their 40-day separation period. They all had a life-changing experience and are eagerly waiting for the next program.

During the Closing Session, Dr. Chung Sik Yong, Chairman of UPF Asia, appointed 30 new Ambassadors for Peace. In his presentation the day before, Dr. Yong had explained clearly the significance and responsibilities of being an Ambassador for Peace, especially the need for becoming a role model of the values taught by our True Parents in their daily lives.

During the group discussions, each nation discussed the projects and program they want to undertake after returning home, especially how to expand the Blessing movement in their province and nation.
