UK: Halloween Party and Divine Principle Workshop

By CARP UK, Michael Schroder: This Saturday just past, the 31st October ‘UK CARP’ held their first event at Lancaster Gate. The event was a Leadership seminar followed by a Halloween Party. The event was a resounding success. I was moved by the atmosphere we were able to create. We had 9 guests and over 25 young people attend in total.

We structured the even as follows:

  • 15:00-15:30 Icebreaker
  • 15:30-16:30 CARP introduction and Divine Principle lecture from a leadership perspective. 16:30-17:00 Break
  • 17:00-18:00 Leadership purpose activity 18:00 Party
  • 19:00 Games
  • 19:00 Close

I knew the most important part of the evening would be how I presented the society and how it could benefit the student’s lives. I needed to find a way to make SP content that was engaging for students of today. I decided to come at it from a leadership perspective and it was very well received.

CARP’s value is becoming ever increasing to me and all of the members involved. At this event we could evoke deeper questions from people about life. The individuals who were ready to receive more Divine Principle content become apparent.

We also experienced just the deepest sense of joy from this event and I could see how happy it made all the guests and how sad they were to leave at the end of the night. That’s what we want to create again in our movement; we want to be experiencing such incredible love in our church that whoever comes doesn’t want to leave.

Having new guests that were in their early twenties made our movement feel fresh and alive. It made us feel hopeful for the future!
