Swaziland: Ambassadors for Peace Seminar
UPF Swaziland, Manzini, Swaziland – May 30, 2015: The Swaziland Chapter of the Universal Peace Federation held a seminar for Ambassadors for Peace and members of the heavenly tribal messiah at The George Hotel in Manzini, the commercial hub city of the kingdom of Swaziland.
There were 38 participants from both the Ambassadors for Peace group and the heavenly tribal messiah. The seminar was conducted by UPF-Africa Region Vice-President Rev. Jean Augustin Ghomsi, who is also UPF-Southern Africa Regional Director. The theme of the event was “A Vision for Peace, One Family Under God.” Program Director of the seminar, Member of the Swaziland Parliament, Hon. Titus Thwala, encouraged the participants to take an active role in peace-making and be responsive to the needs of humanity by “living for the sake of others.”
UPF-Swaziland Deputy Secretary General, Charles Mbingo, stated that the Ambassadors for Peace seminar was intended to be a continuous feature in the leadership capacity building and humanitarian programs for promoting peace in Swaziland. He paid tribute to the UPF founder, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, “for his global vision and labor of love for humanity in building peace and resolving human suffering in the world.” Mbingo emphasized that Rev Dr Moon set an illustrious example of selfless service that we should all strive to emulate. Further, he said that Swaziland had favorable conditions and the opportunity to become a model nation and a world leader is building and promoting peace in the world. He called for collaboration with partners and other role players in initiating educational and humanitarian programs that would overcome poverty, transform peoples’ lives, build leadership capacity and promote peace.
