The Role of Education to Form Balanced Leadership
WFWP Italy, By Elisabetta Cali, Rome, Italy, 18. March 2015: WFWP Italy held an event in one of the offices of the European parliament in Italy on March 18. This was the fourth event that we held in line with an initiative program by European parliament which they promote every year under the title “Europe is for women”.
This year we were welcomed by Dr. Caterini, a representative of the European parliament, who also gave us a speech later during the event.
There were around 70 participants which included, leaders of associations, representatives of Institutions, teachers and educators, The Nigerian Ambassador for the Holy See, and the representatives from the Ecuador and Sweden embassies.
A special thanks to Maria Gemma Azuni, the Vice President of the Capitoline Assembly who had read the message from Mayor Marino.
Donatina Persichetti, President of the Lazio Region Feminine Consult, spoke about the importance of breaking the stereotype by women, the way to express their true nature and their specificity.
The Professor Gavello, General Secretary of UNEDUCH, spoke about the importance of women’s education in many countries where this right isn’t yet known, remembering the courage of MALALA, and the terrible situations in which women and children are placed, such as selling girls in some parts of the world. Victoria Chioma Ezewoko, cultural mediator, spoke about Nigeria, and the importance of school education for all girls and women, which will bring about knowledge about health for them and their children, and prosperity and growth for the family,.
Giuseppe Calì, Honorary President of UPF Italy spoke about the confusion of values that are crossing humanity in this time and the necessity of clear understanding of the role of Ambassadors for Peace in UPF as one who resolve any conflict.
Elisabetta Nistri President of the WFWP Italy, made an important analysis about education that has always been resided in history. She also spoke about the necessity of moral goals and universal values by education of young people so in the future they can make wise choices and become balanced leaders. It is necessary that the technical, scientific and professional education be accompany by an adequate ethical maturity.
